Merge General Discussion and Community

These 2 forum sections serve the same purpose, they should be merged

As I understand it General Discussion is supposed to be more about the details of the game itself, mechanics, tactics etc, whereas Community was more about linebattles, regiments, players etc.
That being said they have become pretty similar in terms of the content they have in them. I don't really see what the benefit would be at this point of merging them, maybe you could elaborate a bit?

While the boards might have differences in theory, in practice the content is very similar. For example the threads in General discussion named "Player Biography, post yours now" and "Clutches, and the best player you know" should be community topics.

Running down the list of threads in general discussion they are all better fit for the community board. Having the 2 separate boards seems redundant to me, especially when the forum community isn't big enough to fill both at the same time.

No. If I were to do this, I'd simply remove the General Discussion board.

The design we have now works, so I don't see any reason to alter it.

Each one has like two live topics. I don't see the advantage in keeping separate inactive boards. Move all of the active topics in General Discussion to community, then delete General Discussion.
