Of course, I also think lines should be able to move in double rank without having emotional breakdowns.

no pics at the momet but i did i get a handmade box by the SGT.
that is painted green and says

"Frankford Arsenal
1000 rounds "

These would have been giving out to the comapnys for well rounds, but then used for chairs, fireword and just storying stuff while the army was not marching

They burned ammunition boxes?

I'm sure the Quartermasters weren't happy with that.  :P

What a waiste.  :P

Dutch army used horse-drawn caissons. I believe one per batallion, though there were some with multiple (Which was strictly forbidden) and some with none.
Though, looking into the numbers, it's likely those were being transported by the soldiers of the train of the brigade instead of train-soldiers being attached to the batallion.

The Dutch army was to be quartered in houses, so they didn't need open fires

And it is a waste. If they'd be send back, they wouldn't have to be re-made, painting, and shit. IT'S INEFFECTIVE! :P

They probably still used it to transport rounds anyway.

There was no house for soldiers to bunk, either we burned it or a officer took it as HQ.

Well that's stupid.

Okay, to be completely fair, on campaign the Dutch, Belgians and Nassauers had to camp because the British took all the houses. They only were quartered during the months prior to the battle of Waterloo when they were spread out to guard the border.

And remember, that's camping NAPOLEONIC style - It means without tent, simply in your greatcoat next to the road, and if you were lucky you had a bag of dry straw as mattress. All trough, these men were often masters in making make-shift shelters. I once made that myself too, it was pretty fun. It did take me and my mate like 3 hours and...well...let's say I'm glad it didn't rain.  :o

Anyone shared that experience with me?
