HCTerrorist has some great videos on youtube. Most of the time I see "Stalingrad" videos, they're Berlin with Stalingrad with Odessa then Kursk... Really shoddy quality. But HCT is true to life with nothing but Stalingrad footage in his Stalingrad videos and same for everything he puts out.

Humans are extremely complicated creatures. Death uncomplicates them to a frightening degree...

That is quite some interesting footage... Though, I always wonder if parts of it are staged. But I guess there is no way to find out.

Aw, you planning on moving Olaf? where to?

Malta.

SS no , Waffen SS all fine :)

A filing clerk behind a desk in Berlin wearing Steingrau has a better chance of getting through WW2 with clean hands than a conscripted Volksdeutsche with runes on his m43 riding on an eastbound Orel.

But for some reason when you turn up to a reenactment dressed like a faceless drone in a massive state bureaucracy, ready to fill out mountains of paperwork for fun, people think you're nuts.

He, we have people doing MP and Custom service - Yet they always find a way to enter the battle as some sort of elite guys.

Edit:That reminds me, does the ACW community have something like Provosts/MP's?

I just want to say, I had my living history event today and some dude walked by in full artillery uniform and there was sky blue armband around his right arm....walalala what you know, its a Provost Guard. XD First time seeing one though.

Your picture is interesting zac first frenchman with a bed roll ive seen.
Of course, I also think lines should be able to move in double rank without having emotional breakdowns.

It was sometimes done by officers because they often had no backpack.

I never saw a picture of a ranker doing it, though.

The british did do it,, Royal Marines where ordered to do it in 1809 in the peninsula , but have got some plates from the waterloo campaign that show it as such.
And its more comfortable than the backpack :)
