Crossing my fingers that Disney knows what they're doing, at least they (hopefully) can't do any worse than the Phantom Menace. :P
But those were ones they made from the start, not ones they picked up halfway through
But those were ones they made from the start, not ones they picked up halfway through
Thor, Iron man and Avenger were not disney products
Whoa, those are pretty cool! I remember playing with the cheap plastic ones all the time as a kid. ;D I'd love to get one of those custom ones, but that's a pretty hefty price tag. :-\Quite hefty indeed, and i too remember lightsaber fighting. We even set up a Star Wars convention in my basement!
I was just going to post that we need a star wars mod, I would help if Boshin wasn't holding me back. Too be honest Boshin ain't getting far with yuki doing sod all.Like I said, I'm all game for doing a Star Wars mod but I want to work on my modelling first.
So it's official. (http://io9.com/5989234/george-lucas-says-luke-han-and-leia-will-all-be-back-for-star-wars-episode-vii)Oh god...

good i see you're already watched and you can get more points for spammingYes sir!
I wonder if you guys still remember the GREAT clone wars TV series back in 2003, not the current crappy Clone Wars series.
Cartoon > Animation
I felt the animation just has too many useless episodes and it is too in-depth on the characters.

Galactic civil war is way better than the clone wars brah. :P
I just like the clones, not so much the story. They look a lot better then storm troopers and have much cooler voices.+1 :)

Do not be mean to clones, sure they are like robots but alot of them decided to make their own decisions during order 66 :-[.
And i prefer the empire before the Rebels ::)
Agreed, the Empire were terrible but i prefer it over some rebellion that only won cuz of one JediDo not be mean to clones, sure they are like robots but alot of them decided to make their own decisions during order 66 :-[.

A few did yes, the story of the ARC troopers is very cool, but they aren't really like the other clones.
How? The Empire exterminated entire populations that fought them, they were incredibly human-centric and xenophobic, used slave labor, destroyed an entire peaceful planet.. I could go on.
I actually found the Clone Wars more entertaining.... i would've loved to see some more battles in the movies, instead of just Geonosis, space battle above Coruscant, and Utapau.Touching on that, would love to see space battles in episode 7, would be great for their set

I think it's boba fett.

I get the feeling lot of the people on this thread enjoyed the prequels more then the originals.I agree with you completely concerning The Phantom Menace and The Clone Wars however The Revenge of the Sith was simply perfect
But my opinion stands. Fuck the clones they're dull and boring.

A movie on the Mandalorain Wars would be awesome, or the Mando Civil War. Would help build up the story for why you don't see there many mandos and why Boba Fett and Jango were so important.Oh god yes, a movie about Mandalorian wars wud be so amazing ;D

I read somewhere that Disney was going to make a spin-off movie about Boba Fett, but not the one we saw in the movies (not a clone) but someone else who killed him, took over his armor and pretended to be Boba. Not sure what I should think of this. :o
Yep I know about that. He was called Jodo Kast but he did not actually kill Boba but was rather killed by Boba Fett later for disguising himself as Boba. So that wouldn't make that much of a story.I read somewhere that Disney was going to make a spin-off movie about Boba Fett, but not the one we saw in the movies (not a clone) but someone else who killed him, took over his armor and pretended to be Boba. Not sure what I should think of this. :o
There was a rebel spec ops soldier that did this, I'll find out his name later.
Wait so Boba killed Jodo because Jodo was disguised as Boba?Correct. Jodo was a bountyhunter, wore mandalorian armor similar to Boba's. So people mistook him for Boba at times. He made use of that and tried to make money out of it. Boba somehow heard of that and set a trap for him on Nal Hutta, where he said he wanted to give Jodo a contract to get him on Nal Hutta. At the meeting he atacked Jodo and injured him but he didn't kill him but let him die of his exploding Jetpack. ^^
Now that's a movie id pay to go and see 1000 timesWell if they're gonna make it now I am sorry for spoilering you :D
A movie about the Mando clan made of Arc troopers and their trainers would be sick.+1
Gayest thread ever?No u :o
here is my ster wars fan fiction story! :D hope you like!Your own story? It's nice man :DSpoilerThe Herald of Death- Bridge
The Master stared out into space. Chiss Star Destroyers had moved to the Herald of Death's flanks in a wedge formation. His students prepared their ships for war.
War... I have been witness to far too many wars. I have stood by and watched the galaxy tear itself apart, taking a passive stance of helping one side over the other when the answer is right in front of me.
The galaxy will be plagued by wars for all time so long as a weak government and corrupt Jedi Order are all that stand to protect it. I will change that. The galaxy needs to change.
I am that change.
The holoprojector on the armrest of The Master's throne sparked to life, projecting the pale blue image of The Brain.
"Master. The connection is established."
Coruscant- Gilad Pellaeon Memorial Hospital- Mental Ward
Luke Skywalker entered the reception area of the Mental Ward of Gilad Pellaeon Memorial Hospital. There were no visitors to be seen, only a lone receptionist stood behind a desk in the pristine white room.
The receptionist was a beautiful young woman, who must have just been hired. She was of slight build, though she was nearly Luke's height. Her black hair was tied back by a ribbon, and her blue eyes looked over to him through rounded glasses.
"Master Skywalker!" She said waving him over. "I heard that you may be on your way."
Luke approached the desk, placing his hands on the warm durasteel. "Yes, I am here to see Nek Bwua'tu."
The receptionist typed something in on the small datapad she was holding, while she stepped out from behind the desk. "Of course. The transmission from the Chief of State's office said that you were here to see him. Before we go, I should warn you that his mind is severely damaged, but remains intact enough for him to ramble about some sort of dagger and Coruscant." The receptionist turned toward the door at the far end of the waiting area, waving for him to follow.
Luke followed her through the door labeled 'Mental Ward.' He had been sent by Chief of State Wynn Dorvan to help the Admiral recover from his experience with The Master. Luke had told him that other Jedi were better Jedi healers than he, but Dorvan insisted.
The receptionist stopped at a silver door labeled 'Bwua'tu' on her left. "He's in there. If you can, please help him. No one else has been able to."
Luke knew it was no coincidence that Bwua'tu would be untreatable. The Master had used his dark powers to remove a powerful obstacle from his path, no medicine could cure the shadow that had fallen over him. Luke only hoped that he could salvage the Admiral's mind.
Luke entered the chamber. There was only a flat bed to speak of, with the Admiral cowering behind it, shaking in fear. The Admiral's graying fur was thinning, his eyes darkened, but wide with perpetual terror. Images were scrawled on the wall, all of them resembling some sort of dagger.
Nek quickly leapt up, waving Luke over with his left hand and pointing at the largest image with his right. "The dagger! Black as the void! It will stab into Coruscant, and destroy everything." The Admiral's ramblings were ineligible to some, but Luke knew what it was.
The Master planned to strike Coruscant and possibly destroy the planet.
Nek Bwua'tu traced the outline of the dagger image with his index finger. "Black as the Void." He whispered. "It heralds the coming darkness."
Luke reached out with his right hand, reaching out to the Admiral's mind with the Force. He touched Nek's surface thoughts. His mind was fragmented, but intact enough to support his insane ramblings. Luke reached in deeper, following the darkness to its source. He found a swirling storm of darkness and, hiding behind it, a menacing shadow.
Luke pulled away, detaching himself from the Admiral's mind. This darkness was unlike anything he had ever seen. It had taken Nek Bwua'tu's mind and dominated it, but it had a possible unintended side-effect. Bwua'tu's ramblings had given Luke a glimpse into The Master's plans.
He will strike Coruscant, and he will strike it hard.
Luke heard footsteps rushing towards him. He could feel the receptionist's distress.
"Master Skywalker, you need to see this!"

The Herald of Death- Bridge
The Master righted himself in his chair. The Brain had hacked into the galactic communications network of the Galactic Alliance, allowing The Master to broadcast a transmission to every planet in the Galactic Alliance.
It was time for the next step in The Master's plan. The final move before his war began.

Coruscant- Gilad Pellaeon Memorial Hospital- Mental Ward
The receptionist pointed to the wall-mounted vidscreen on the right wall of the waiting area. The vidscreen displayed The Master's image in full color.
"Citizens of the Galactic Alliance. You know who I am, so I will not bother with introductions. I have a message for you." The Master coughed once before clearing his throat. "Many of you have been witness to wars. Many of you know of people who have lost loved ones because of war."
"I tell you now, that the fault lies in your leaders. They are responsible for your loss. When the Vong invaded, the poor leadership of New Republic leaders led to inaction and uncoordinated military responses, which, in turn, led to unnecessary deaths." The Master coughed again, louder this time. He shifted in his seat before continuing.
"But your leaders are only a single part of the problem. Look to your Guardians of Peace- the proud Order of the Jedi. They are corrupt as well. Their actions and their arrogance have caused even more deaths."
The Master coughed again. "The Jedi have become arrogant, believing themselves to be all-powerful. When an entity of unimaginable power struck the galaxy, the Jedi considered her just another foe to defeat. Their foolishness allowed the entity to create chaos on Coruscant."
"They believed the Second Galactic Civil War to be just another war for them to fight in, just another crisis for them to deal with. Their arrogance and flawed ideals has led them to make impossibly foolish decisions. They allowed the Sith- sworn enemies of peace and freedom- to continue their foul existence."
"The collective foolishness and arrogance of your leaders and the Jedi Order has allowed the Imperial Remnant to grow into a full-fledged Empire."
"Even now the Sith, and the new Empire under the leadership of Jagged Fel plan to overthrow the Galactic Alliance and return the galaxy to the darkness it felt under the reign of Emperor Palpatine."
The Master coughed again, bending over in his seat as his lungs spasmed. He cleared his throat and returned to an upright position. "But this does not have to be your future. You can do something about it. Join me in my fight to unseat your corrupt leaders and cleanse the corruption of the Jedi Order."
"I will put an end to war. I will unite the galaxy under one rule. The new Empire and the Sith will be defeated, and the galaxy will be at peace."
The Master's voice rose, compelling Luke to join him. The Master's voice was eloquent, alluring. Luke knew many would fall prey to his words.
"If you believe as I do, then join me. Bringing peace will not be easy. It will take one final war, but, together, we can unite the galaxy. United, we will defeat the Sith and this new Empire. Together, we will finally save the galaxy!"
The Master's image vanished from the vidscreen, leaving static in his place.
Luke placed a hand on the receptionist's shoulder, pouring some of his energy into her. "Don't listen to him. He's lying. This is a ruse."
She swallowed and nodded. "You'll stop him, won't you?"
Luke didn't answer. He knew it wouldn't be so simple.

The Master righted himself in his chair. The Brain had hacked into the galactic communications network of the Galactic Alliance, allowing The Master to broadcast a transmission to every planet in the Galactic Alliance.
It was time for the next step in The Master's plan. The final move before his war began.

"Because you're dying." A voice from behind him answered.[close]

Spoilerm-8! Most of the plot didn't make sense, everything was conveniently set up. For example Han screwing everything that happened in the original trilogy, he abandons the rebellion for no reason the same does Luke.
The new deathstar or whatever was just there so they could recreate the ending from a new hope.
No one gave a shit that Han got killed, but I guess he had to get out of the way because Rey was supposed to take his place.
And lastly I read a review of the movie that stated that Finn was as cool as Han Solo..... anyone who agrees?

Yes, personally I do not like Attack of the Clones to much.
Phantom Menace was good, Episode 3 wasn't bad either. I love the Spacebattle in the beginning.
It is so shit. I hate it.

once they use the suns energy, how do they move it?
And it is not the Empire. It is some weird group of people that think that they are the Empire, but are way more evil (they kill for fun) and have no background story whatsoever. They just pop into existence...
But the Republic seems to be unable or unwilling to do anything about it,and instead led some stupid Guerillia group fight for them.Spoilereven though they destroy entire Solar Systems[close]
Wtf?once they use the suns energy, how do they move it?
I guess they don't? Or they have some other super new technology that is in no way explained and makes no sense why they have it.
Come on, the "wanna be Imperials" just pop out of existence and have super weapon tech that no one else has?
Even the Empire took years to develop (Actually the Seperatists developed it) and to build the first Deathstar...
I am raging. I hate this new movie so much. It starts good, but as soon as Han Solo shows up the movie goes downhill very fast.
ffs it's a movie with lasers, stormtroopers, star destroyers, and hilarity. What more can u want :(anime? Hentai? Yugioh?
Buzzfeed has done it again!

So the new movie will be almost the same like episodes IV – VI?Yes from a certain point of view. The major difference, I guess, is that the plot which they copied form episode 4, and some of 5, doesn't make sense. As explained by Olafson.

As for the new characters Finn is useless and Rey is the most powerful person in the movie, just because she realized she is strong with the force.
For me the thing that fully ruined the movie was the editing and music. The movie basically has two parts when its not in "action mode"; Rey on Jakku, and the cantina scene. The rest of the movie NEVER had more than two minutes between each action scene. The shooting and loud music never stops, it goes from one battle to another battle and then to the next. Most of it is entirely pointless, and it results in that nothing is properly explained because 80% of the damn movie is just endless fighting.
They could have cut out most of the action and put in some story building, like for example explaining the new order, and idk. maybe the new deathstar.
Instead we are shown the deathstar just before it begins to wipe out the rebels (or resistance, who knows?), and right after that, the rebels plan the attack, and shortly afterwards destroy it. All we ever got to know about the Starkiller base is that it was larger than the other two deathstars and therefor could destroy more shit.
In the end though I see why they didn't bother to explain the plot to a greater detail. The first reason is that its all things we have seen in episode 4 and 5. The second reason is that they probably can't even explain it. The Starkiller base (the name is even taken from a star wars video game!) has no reason to be in the movie at all. Han Solo had no reason to leave the rebellion. Luke had no reason to leave the rebellion. All those things are what set off the events in the movie. My point being there is no reason for what happens in this movie to be happening.
Also the music is poor and unoriginal.
These are my opinions on The Force Awakens. But I have to not understand something, because most people loved it. By many it's apparently being regarded as one of the best Star Wars films, and i would like to know why?
The First Order didn't pop up out of nowhere they are remnants of the empire, lel.Well "Several decades after the Empire's defeat, the First Order emerged as the inheritors of the Imperial legacy, and the Resistance served as a check against the First Order's designs for the galaxy." -http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Resistance
It also says they consist of military leaders who where part of the galactic empire.
But the point is that Ben is incredibly powerful in the beginning of the movie and in the end he can't do fucking anything. He stops a blastershot in the air, coming from the side.
And then later, chewie can just shoot him?
And that other idiot, Fin is able to defeat him with the lightsabre? That guy has been training for like 20-30 years, why the fuck is he so bad at this.
And how can Rey/Ray/Bitch/Whatever be so proficient with the force? She actually didn't even believe that Jedi existed until she met Han. And then she gets captured and she knows that Jedis can play mindtricks with other people? HOW DID SHE KNOW THAT? AND WHY DID SHE NOT NEED ANY TRAINING?It also says they consist of military leaders who where part of the galactic empire.
That still does not explain how they emerged so long after the Empire was defeated and how they managed to get the technology and resources needed to build such a huge base.
And given that the First order is so popular, I mean, apparently everyone knows about it, why does the Republic not send its own army to defeat it? Or knew about that base before it was finished in construction? I don't think that it is possible to keep such a huge thing in secret? The Republic could have easily defeated it before they even got that powerfull.

SpoilerWell.. I mean, why the heck did they kill off that person. Made no sense to me. I thought he had so much more to contribute.[close]
That is actually a part I liked.
Because killing main characters is always good.
I hope for the next movie, they recreate something like the Space Battle in Episode3. It was one of my most favorite scenes in Star Wars.

But the point is that Ben is incredibly powerful in the beginning of the movie and in the end he can't do fucking anything. He stops a blastershot in the air, coming from the side. From what i've read, the reason that Ben is shit sometimes is because he is having an inner conflict between the light and dark force aspects, he had also just killed his father so as was explained, he probably had a lot of emotional toil to deal with. Keep in mind, he is no sith lord.
AND WHY DID SHE NOT NEED ANY TRAINING?This was one of my few critiques of the movie, however i believe it wasn't a big deal in my opinion. We do not know who she is yet or why she is able to use the force so well but that is likely going to be explained in the next movie. As for knowing about mind tricks, people know that jedis are able to use mind tricks. I hate to reference Phantom Menace but that blue fly guy knew about Jedi mind tricks so i don't see how other people wouldn't. They probably heard stories of the jedi and their abilities. I'm sure all of this will be further explained in the next movies, again, we don't know who she is yet.
JJ Abrams explains that the First Order was trying to not only emulate the Galactic Empire but also to try and surpass it. With all fascist societies, it's about supremacy. Also, if we look at the logistics, i would imagine that even though Starkiller base is much larger, that is because it is an actual planet. I'd imagine that the construction of the deathstar would take roughly the same time as the construction of star killer base because they are just drilling giant holes into the planet's core and lining it with metal or whatever it is. For an advanced sci-fi space civilization that has been continuously advancing in technology, this isn't that far fetched i don't think. Much of starkiller base is still, ya know, snow and shit, they aren't using the entire planet. As for defeating them before becoming too powerful, as the video explains, Republic and New Order signed a treaty and the Republic reduced it's military 80% so to not become a repeat of the previous republic. It also says they consist of military leaders who where part of the galactic empire.

Honestly people who go out of their way to spoil star wars are bigger assholes than Darth Jar Jar killing chewbacca.I see what you did there
This unrelated to the movies but I'm trying to get more acquainted with the expanded universe and figure the comics are the best place to do that. I've heard Legacy series is a good place to start. Anyone have recommendations?
Yeah I know they're no longer canon and I was looking more for graphic novels and comics. Already have a shit ton of "actual" reading to do.This unrelated to the movies but I'm trying to get more acquainted with the expanded universe and figure the comics are the best place to do that. Legacy/Expanded Universe is no longer consider canon, Star Wars: aftermath is a decent read but if you do want to follow the Expanded Universe I suggest the Thrawn trilogy, very good books and well written.

do you know what happend to StevenChilton?Maybe a spoilerIt's a rehash of the New Hope more or less... Kinda disappointed.[close]Movie question ACTUAL SPOILERis it just me or is anyone finding it hard to believe for the New Order to have built the mega Death Star in ~30 years when it took the Empire ~5 years to only build half of the Death Star mk2.
Also wtf was the Republic doing? Why was their ENTIRE fleet at their ports when they knew they had the New Order running around (even w/o knowing they had their death cannon, how weren't they perceived as a threat)? Why did the New Order target the Republic and not the Resistance with their death cannon first? Why do these guys always leave the critical points on their death cannons so vulnerable? If their weapon drains their sun where did they get the energy for the first shot if their sun was still their the second time around? Why were the Stormtroopers so menacing in the opening scene but useless for the rest of the film, weren't they trained from birth?
I could go on but it would all lead to the same point. This movie made no god damn sense. Entertaining though.[close]

I could go on but it would all lead to the same point. This movie made no god damn sense. Entertaining though.[close]hopefully answers many of your questionsUmk, going to try and explain this the best i can. I already explained in a previous post that in a constantly advancing military society with vast numbers of cheap labor (slavery), the idea of star killer base is not far fetched. First off, they aren't using the entire planet. The deathstar, they were using every bit of it but star killer base was a planet that they drilled giant holes into and lined with some metal and stuff i guess. I would imagine that it would actually take roughly the same amount of time as a deathstar, maybe a bit longer. Plus if you think about it logistically, it's probably easier to build your base on a planet instead of in the middle of fucking space.
They knew that the first order existed but they were not aware of star killer base, the star wars universe is HUGE okay, they can't watch everything that has been happened. The republic signed a treaty with the first order, effectively saying that we control this half of the playground and you control that half. However the resistance is loosely attached to the republic but act outside of it. They fight the first order despite the treaty because....idk....evil or something. I'm just getting into the new canon so i'm not sure about everything.
By targeting the Republic, they were targeting the resistance. The resistance acts within the republic and they have no central planets of control. Plus they probably thought that the republic was a larger threat then the resistance (which turned out to be wrong)
The critical spot was not "vulnerable," the resistance just got lucky with han and chewy. The planet had a shield preventing ships slower than lightspeed, it had senor arrays, turbo-laser canons, and a fuck ton of tie fighters and stormtroopers.
"If their weapon drains their sun where did they get the energy for the first shot if their sun was still their the second time around?" A second sun or the sun could've been larger, i don't really know for this one to be honest but it's really not a big deal for me. I'm sure the answer is in one of the new books that they have.
"Why were the Stormtroopers so menacing in the opening scene but useless for the rest of the film, weren't they trained from birth?" Short Answer: Plot Device. Long Answer: The force does a lot of weird shit where it can protect certain people at certain times and also, stormtroopers were trained to not hit high value targets which is what happened in 4,5,6. There has been a long running joke about Stormtroopers accuracy however in much of those scenes, they actually missed on purpose.[close]
Think about it like seeing A New Hope for the first time before the prequels. They didn't explain much then either. This is a completely new trilogy with its own background and focus on different parts of the galaxy. They're planning on making one new movie every year until 2020. I think you can expect some of your concerns to be addressed later down the line.
Anyone that hates on this star wars is honestly retarded. Movie is fucking epic and overall just fucking enjoyable. Which is what counts in the end.

I like the prequels more, jar jar was the shit what a guy!
SPOILERS M8SMy one question is: Why is the first hour just filled with a girl scavenging around in a desert,
and then in the other hour,
there are so many battle scenes and they destroy a planet, and Han Solo kicks in with Chewwie, and she's a jedi, and he's a weirdo Stormtrooper and then there's Solo's and Leia's kid, and he's suddenly evil, and who is sitting in that chair, and how did they escape, and how did that jet fighter flie in and how could it explode everything, and how did Chewwie find the new girl and the Stormtrooper in time to save them, and why was the lightsaber in that weird castle, and how and why and what, really.
IMO, the last hour of the movie could have been a triology, 'cause that shit went way too fast and way too easy...
Other than that, it was a great movie. :D[close]
I thought they were doing 3 spin-off standalone films in addition to the trilogy? I don't remember where I heard that though to be fair.I've heard of a Han Solo standalone, Rogue Squadron Standalone, and then a 3rd one with not many details being let out.

Did Galactic Empire have any regular troops before they adopted clones?Wait. Stop. The Galactic Empire originally only used Jango Fett clones. They were accompanied by Human commanders as well as clone officers. After the advanced aging of the clones began to make the clones unfit for duty it was decided to integrate them with normal humans who were trained to have fanatical loyalty to the Emperor.
And what would possibly happen if Gungans refused to help Padmé Amidala to defend Naboo?Of course they could have chosen not to. Then Episode 1 would have sucked more though.

Well the Galactic Empire was formed from the remains of the Galactic Republic, so the army at the time was the Grand Army of the Republic (clones), so I'm not sure what you mean by before they started to use clones.
If you're talking about the Republic before the Empire, then they had the Judicial branch of the government which served as the peace keepers of the Republic.
To find any kind of formal military that was not the clone army, you'd have to look at the Old Republic before the Galactic Republic of the movies.
If you haven't seen Episode 7. (Spoiler, Though com'on why haven't you seen the movie yet u skwub)
Anyways I have a questionSpoilerHow did Rey turn into a Jedi Master in a matter of seconds against Kylo Ren. It took Luke such a longer time, He had to train with Yoda and such... But noo Rey was instant in this movie. Can anyone explain how? :P[close]
SpoilerKylo was apparently at the level of a Jedi Padawan because he only ever killed the kids at the academy and never fought force sensitives after that. This combined with the bowcaster injury, natural edgyness and ego, and Rey's ability to channel the force with her Mary Sue powers all meant he was going to get dunked on./s[close]
Is Jar Jar Binks Darth Plagueis? I think this theory is false, because if Plagueis reincarnated into Jar Jar, why would he help Palpatine to become the Supreme Chancellor and later the Emperor of the Empire if Sidious murdered him? It's just a little too wonky to truly believe. I'd buy more into Jar Jar colluding with the Sith but not being a sith lord himself. That seems a little too much for a character that was generally hated by all.
Both ideas make sense though.I like the theory, believe me, all my friends hate me when I point out his force moves and mind tricks, but when you realize the direction George Lucas had to take the prequels after all the hate it becomes easier to understand why Jar Jar had to take a backseat. Would be interesting if this could be confirmed though.
Either Jar Jar helped the Sith to rise to power or he is Darth Plageuis.
If he actually is Darth Plageuis then maybe he just did not want to be officially recognized? Think about it, it makes sense. Why put yourself on the throne when you can put someone else on it, that does practically everything you do? Palpetine is Jar Jars puppet.
Maybe he did not even know or notice that he is a puppet? Maybe Palpatine did not know that Jar Jar is Darth Plageuis...
And tbh, the whole prequels and practically all Star Wars movies suddenly become much better with Jar Jar being a Sith in control of everything.

well, we still don't know if Jar Jar was killed after Palpatine ordered the order 66. Yes exactly. I was actualyl hoping for him to appear in Episode7 as main villain... To bad :(
Imagine what would happen if they did that. That would be epic.
Jar Jar was Obviously Sidious the whole time, totallyhow could be Jar Jar Sidious if Palpatine IS Sidious? ;D
Ok.

I actually enjoyed all the prequels. If you just try to enjoy it and not analyze every little detail, they are good.Same. The only thing I tend to notice is how garbo the CGI is when you compare it to modern day. I sometimes wish the prequels could be remade with a higher budget and less goofy plot.

Could somebody explain me what were the "holes" on AATs during the invasion of Naboo for?The holes on an AAT (Armored Assault Tank) were used as launch tubes with various ammunition apparently. I do not recall looking at the bottom of an AAT, always looking at the large laser cannon on top. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Armored_Assault_Tank/Legends
In the books it's said he used an advanced fencing technique that no Jedi had ever seen before. The first 2 jedi masters in that scene literally got 1 hit insta-killed not even blocking once. And they went in their knowing he was a sith lord. Reminds me of recruits blindly running into melee! XD

It doesn't look that bad?I am at least intrigued. I wonder if Renegade Squadron will be highlighted or remade canon.
Yet men are lead roles 99% of the time...I admire the fact that she's a strong independent womyn who can do everything as good as men and probably even better. But why do it always have to be women without color? If we want 100% diversity in our TV series we need to take this issue seriously. The goal should be to have no people without color.
Political correctness right.
I thought they were making a jar jar moviei wish. Jar Jar the sith lord would be the best movie
Yet men are lead roles 99% of the time...Sure, I was exaggerating and so are you. We had a female lead in Star Wars 7 and this will likely continue in the trilogy. I don't see why the spin off has to have a female main character as well (that from the first look feels like Rey 2.0 just without the force).
Political correctness right.

At least we will get our Boba Fett movie...
If they want more female fans, then they should do a crossover with Magic Mike
I just hate the fact that it's obligatory to include a female and black person in your movie just to show that you aren't sexist and racist.
I just hate the fact that it's obligatory to include a female and black person in your movie just to show that you aren't sexist and racist.
Pretty much this, its not that we mind the characters gender or race. It just so annoyingly obvious why they were placed in the film.
Wasn't that in Episode 6?Shit, I think you're right... still, the lack of Bothans in main roles is deplorable.
Ofc race and gender matter.
If I make a movie about Japan, I probably want Japanese people only. There is no reason for me to include africans.
You get what I mean.
The same goes for Star Wars. Maybe black people are just way less common in the Star Wars universe than anywhere else. There is no reason to assume that black people are just as common. Actually if you watch the movies, black people are extremely rare.
So why should there be so many black guys now?
Equally, I think I have not seen a single Asian guy in star wars, until that new movie.
I think episode 7 is the worst one
For a matter of fact, they already started with getting worse every movie. Ep 7 is definitely worse than any of the movies before it.Agreed. The film just felt so odd with the forced humor and amount of CGI. What made the original trilogy so good was the use of practical effects and deep story telling. The prequels still had good story telling but just an absurd amount of bad CGI which was limited to the technology at the time. Episode 7 also lacked a ton of setup/exposition to explain anything. It was like you were just placed here and now the story starts. They gave zero details on what happened after the Battle of Endor, like zero and I felt no connection to the New Republic because I knew nothing about it.
I feel like you guys saying ep 7 is the worst just haven't watched the prequels in a long time. I watched them recently and they are truly unbearable. The Phantom Menace is like 12 year old fan fiction. Watch the prequels from start to finish and I doubt you can make such a claim.I love the prequels. The massive clone army attacking the droid army... it's just awesome.
1 isn't that bad although Jar Jar is super annoying.I really don't mind Jar Jar, but I also love ep.2 and 3. Of course, its your opinion, but for me the prequels are my most favourite movies
2 is by far the worst, I really do not like it. Even 7 is better.
I liked episode 2. Like the scene where all the Jedi come out and start to attack the Genosians was orgasmic to me when I was little.
It has been awhile since I watched the prequels
I think people were just not ready for the sheer amount of politics and exposition that had to be shown to help show how the Sith came to power. I liked it but it's easy to see people wanting more action and stuff like thatthey showed how the sith came to power? man that movie was forgettable
Whats wrong with that scene though? He is basically saying that he doesn't like Tatooine, but that he likes this place and that he likes to be together with her.
Euros must not be able to detect how autistic and rigid the acting in that scene is. It's like Lucas wanted him to be like a teenager, but then he was like 'actually you know what, be a 12 year old" and he was like aight fam and tried his hardest to speak like he was in a soap opera. Truly cringe inducing, and Alden Christiansen isn't even a bad actor so it can pretty much be chalked up to Lucas's awful writing and direction.you should direct the next movie

Well ep. 1-2 had shit writing so that's also up for debate.
I think the main problem with ep 1-3 was that George Lucas had surrounded himself with a bunch of yes men, who didn't question him what so ever.
B-but...prequels are awesome :(

A smuggler befriends a big hairy thing and you're confused as to how Finn and Poe get friendly?
You should be more confused about Rey and Leia being best friends in the end of the movie.
Even though they have never met before.
They hug each other after Han is dead. Which makes absolutely no sense, given that Chewie is right next to her. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAnnnnnnnnd that they have never met before.but what if Rey is Luke's daughter? Then I think it would make sense.
Even Fin would be a better choice than Rey...
How does Leia know about that? She can probably sense that Rey is a Skywalker, since Leia is also force sensitive and a Skywalker as well. In the Disney timeline of Star Wars she decided to lead the resistance instead of training in the force ( as she did in the original canon before Disney came along and scraped all of that)
Why does she not tell anyone?
Watching the new Star Wars in my American civil war class. ;D

Personally just want to see a movie that talks about the adventures of Mandolarians/Boba/Jango or the Old Republic but Disney would never do that so we're just stuck with this.

Nothing could compare to a a Darth Bane trilogy. (The books are AMAZING!)

Lol, Star Wars was an expensive acquisition for Disney, so expect a lot of films. Or did you mean you hope they're gonna end the sequel story arc at 9? Can be fairly sure they'll do that at least.
i really want to see an old republic saga with Darth Bane but i doubt it will happen :(
they've got to stop copying stuff from the original trilogyThis really annoyed me throughout the movie, that and the humour that Marceaux mentioned was just off in most cases, and most of it was Superhero-movie level humour which didnt help.
Episode VIII was a bit better than The Force Awakens but still wasn't great, plus they've got to stop copying stuff from the original trilogy. Rogue One is still the only good Disney Star Wars film imo.Agreed. Most scenes felt like remakes of scenes in either the original trilogy or the prequels. A little bit here and there can be a clever tribute, but it just felt like plagiarism. Still better than Ep 7 though.
Yep thats what I meant. I dont mind films like Rogue One because it only expands the previous episodes instead of making new ones.and they wont milk it any further
Or did you mean you hope they're gonna end the sequel story arc at 9?
I'm calling it now, the Han Solo film will be terrible. Rogue One was probably a one-off.Rotten Tomatoes confuses me so much. Justice League, which I thought was actually pretty good, has a terrible rotten score but a great audience score. Episode 8 has a great critical score, yet a terrible audience score.
I don't understand how a lot of reviewers are giving Star Wars Disney lots of good feedback, are they being leaned on/bribed or whatever? Can't *just* be me since everyone I've talked to irl and on here have said they didn't really rate Episodes VII/VIII. Oh, and just as I was writing this I looked it up on Rotten Tomatoes and there's a massive split between reviewer and audience scores: https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/star_wars_the_last_jedi
93% vs 56%. Wow.
I wont post any spoiler related stuff until at least next week. But honestly i am not very happy with the direction they took this film and the skywalker saga for several reasons which i cant say due to spoilers... :-\
Looks like Disney are gonna lose $50-80 million on Han Solo according to projections, and will be the first Star Wars film to lose money. Bombed in China, lukewarm reception in US and Europe. Given the size of most Hollywood blockbuster budgets these days the US market alone can't sustain them and they have to also appeal in China if they're to make serious money.
Han Solo deserved to fail. Saturated market, awful Disney management and politically divisive content. Episode IX will perform just as badly unless something major changes.
Wikipedia says budget for solo was 250mil and that box office was 280mil first week, idk what are other expanses but seems like they are fine.
Ah yeah thanks.Wikipedia says budget for solo was 250mil and that box office was 280mil first week, idk what are other expanses but seems like they are fine.
That $250 million is for production costs only (i.e to make the film). There's also marketing costs to consider which for major Hollywood films are huge, sometimes more than it actually cost to make them in the fist place. No idea what Disney is spending on marketing for Han Solo but as a rough guesstimate $150-250 million would be likely.

Only way I can see to save IX is if it starts with Luke waking up just after Return of the Jedi likeOnly way IX can be saved is if Jar Jar Binks is to return as Sith Lord that was behind Palpatine the whole time and forcefully slaughters Mao Zedong (Rose), Mary Sue (Rey) and mr Hothead (Fin). Proclaming second Galatic Empire.

great joke, we'd like a serious review now
65% for a Star Wars related movie is piss poor my dude, pretty sure it's the worst-watched Star Wars Universe related movie so far.
Didnt watch solo, but apart from prequels (which are best no jokes here) Rogue one is best star wars movie. It presents war as it truly is there is no heroes just monsters on both sides.65% for a Star Wars related movie is piss poor my dude, pretty sure it's the worst-watched Star Wars Universe related movie so far.
Yes for some reason people are incredibly harsh towards the movie. I understand Disney management and the way they have went about handling star wars is pretty terrible. But this movie all bullshit aside is good and enjoyable in itself and has some qualities that make it stand out from some of the other star wars movies. In particular i know this movie is miles better then Last Jedi. And i personally enjoyed it more then Rouge One.
So pierce have you watched the movie?
Here's my rating of all films with Solo:OOF
Episode 3
Episode 5
Episode 4
Episode 6
Rogue One
Episode 2
Episode 7
Solo
Episode 1
Episode 8
I humbly think that Episode 3 is the GOAT because it ties everything together and yes there are dumb things in it but it really shows how the characters became the way they are today and was just a good transition from the prequel trilogy to the original trilogy.I also think 3 packed more emotion than the rest of the films. It probably is my 2nd or 3rd favorite of them all, considering I prefer the Clone Wars over any other era (except maybe TOR). If the acting was better then it definitely would have been my favorite.
It's hard to rate Episode 2 and 1 though because I do think they're pretty bad but Episode 7 is just tons of strange cringe and moments that don't belong in star wars and Episode 8 is even worse. Everyone loves to think the originals are great and they are but there are some redeeming qualities to the prequels once you realize how bad Disney's era has gone with the new trilogy
Yup I saw Solo and regretted it, I didn't like it.
Darth Maul is one of the only redeeming qualities of that movie but many scenes are really boring with Young Anakin, genuinly not intrueing. They feel slow and just don't stick to you, most kid actors are hated anyways because they can't live up to a previously established character, mostly that is.Darth Maul is the worst thing about the movie. The movie was titled after him yet he spoke 5 words in entire film had no backstory nothing. He only looked 'cool'. I agree that a big part of the movie was boring (sand planet). But political plot with trade federation and corrupt senate was really good and it makes it second best Star Wars movie (first being Revange of the Sith). Political plot is also the reason why 1-3 are better than 4-6 which have a cheesy fairy-tale like story (Yoda scenes are great though). Also I suspect that fans contributed to 2 and 3 movie not riching the full potential because they hated Jar Jar Binks who was probably set up to be Sith Lord which would be pretty one of the best plottwist of all times, if only Geroge wouldnt back down.
I think that Darth Maul got way more action and respect in the Clone Wars series, especially with the interactions he has with his brother.
The backstory of Darth Maul was further described in the clone wars, that's why the movie seems to be redeeming itself slightly after you realise the amount stuff he's done prior to being cut down in the Phantom Menace.Phanthom Menace gave ni reason for Maul love yet he got it. The back story he gets is after kids really liked him.
There's enough to read or watch nowadays to figure out his backstory anyways if you care, look at his interactions with the mandalorians for some interesting stories for example.
Rouge one really wasnt that good of a movie
Solo will probably lose Disney just over $50 million, which is a bit less than expected. Relatively minor for them financially but it's a pretty big symbolic defeat.
Also it may be that Rian Johnson gets his trilogy scrapped (deservedly) while the Obi-Wan spin-off has been halted:
https://www.express.co.uk/entertainment/films/977763/Star-Wars-Solo-FLOP-Rian-Johnson-trilogy-DROPPED-fan-backlash-Kathleen-Kennedy
Sounds like Kennedy has been allowed to go with dignity after Episode IX and the franchise is going to be re-booted. The mouse is a pretty harsh boss lol. Not gonna lie I hope Episode IX totally fails because Abrams is writing/directing and The Force Awakens was unoriginal garbage for which he was ridiculously praised for.
And despite Solo not blowing the box office away its still in the top 5 grossing films of 2018. And you cant really expect EVERY star wars film to be a HUGE hit in the box office.
I think Abrams praise is deserving, he successfully brought star wars to a new generation and made the old fans happy at the same time. And of course the 7th movie in a saga is going to be unoriginal to some degree, it is star wars after all i mean what do you want honestly? Especially out of a continued Skywalker saga.
And I LOVE when movies include tons of fan service especially from such a childhood favorite like Star Wars. I WANT to be reminded of those older movies that made me fall in love with the galaxy far far away. And in fact if the movies don't stay similar to what made them great why would i even bother watching them? The fans that love star wars made it what it is today. and we want more of what made us fans in the first place. Or maybe its just me idk...

Top 5? It's ranked 13th according to Box Office Mojo. Also it's only late June, we've still got a ton of big releases until early August then there's the major Christmas/New Year period. Solo will be lucky to be in the top 25 of 2018. Star Wars is a major franchise backed by a major studio so you'd at least expect it to make a profit.I think Abrams praise is deserving, he successfully brought star wars to a new generation and made the old fans happy at the same time. Dunno, I disliked Episode VIII for being too unoriginal plus they missed the chance to get the original trio back together. Elements of the plot didn't make much sense either. Had some nice scenes etc but maybe my expectations were too high. I still think the only good Disney Star Wars is Rogue One.
Probably real late with this, but I just saw Solo last night and I very much enjoyed it. Didn't care for Emilia Clarke's character so much. I just couldn't really get behind her, so when she did her turn (stayed on the same side? lmao) I couldn't find it in me to care. In my opinion Ehrenreich did a very good job. I'm glad to see an iconic character portrayed well. He could have easily just tried to carbon copy Ford, but he didn't and made it his own.Emilla Clarke is a pretty shit actress. At least from what is saw in Game of Thrones. Makes Dany look like a psychopath while I don't think that is intended.

Anyways in terms of box office, even by Star Wars standards it is doing pretty lackluster. Can't really blame it though, with the Last Jedi being so fucking mediocre and more dividing than Insurrection.
Did people even want a Han Solo spinoff? Not at the current state I think since they were thinking they will just ruin it.

Yes solo is my favorite character, and it triggered me because dumb ass posts like that serve no purpose. And the movie is anything but trash. And if you think it is trash please give some reasoning behind that conclusion. The movie gets more hate than any other star wars film because people like you shit talk it without reason and i am honestly sick of it.

They should just stop Disney did a lot of damage already.
I think the majority can agree that Star Wars is better when it shifts to a darker tone. However, this kiddy nonsense seems to be the only marketable strategy, not to mention it is Disney and they have to cater to the younglings.
A kotor movie would be absolutely fantastic in concept, but I agree with Godfreid that I wouldn't trust their handling of Revan or Malak's characters. They would probably find a way to fuck up Bastilla and turn her into one of those LGBTQ icons that the movie industry so "desperately" needs. A Bane movie could work too, but as of right now they haven't made Zannah canon (I think). A movie centered around Malgus and his sack of Coruscant could be great as well, but I wouldn't be entirely sold on the idea, at least in its delivery. Sure, hundreds of Jedi and Sith duking it out sound cool, but if they were to focus too much on action and less on an interesting and in-depth plot, then I fear we would get a repeat of Attack of The Clones. Malgus's and Eleena could also be one of those rare Star Wars relationships with a fantastic plot point, considering how it resolves and how deeply affected Malgus is by her.
To be honest I didn't think much of The Last Jedi after watching it in the theater, but the more I look back, the more I realize it was a steaming dumpster fire. The humor made me cringe, the quote-on-quote representation and diversity was among the most forced in recent memory, and although this been recited many a time, the plot spits in the face of all Star Wars fans who even have the least bit of respect for lore. It look Luke years to master the force, and even then he was subject to the perversions of the Dark side and would have been barbecued into oblivion had it not been for his daddy. Rey masters this shit in little over a week, if not within a few days, and somehow is able to outduel the most powerful fucking Jedi to ever traverse the galaxy. What's that? She is the new most powerful force user EVARRR?!?!?! Please, absolute bullshit. Until I see her pulling off Nihilus level concentration I refuse to believe this character is amongst the most powerful in Star Wars. Don't get me wrong, Daisey Ridley is not a bad actor by any means, but this writing is bonkers. Also fuck them for not having Ackbar take out the First Order flagsip instead of the Jurassic Park chick.
I rest my case.
Just make kotor1 into a movie. Done deal. Or better yet give us Bane...

I wish they wouldve had 1 director for all three movies so JJ could plan ahead and make it all a bit more coherent, but we'll see how this one goesThe title implies Rey is a Skywalker or some other trippy shit that will make me squeal.
IT WAS ALL A RUSE!!!!!!
Let us pray JJ can redeem this trilogy.

Rogue one was good

Yeah, but it can't really hurt anything. Either we get an epic old republic movie or we don't. But ide rather it be given a chance then just dropped. I mean, why not right? And Disney spent way to much money to just stop. And at the very least we will get some epic scenes.
And honestly, as a huge star wars fan I don't want them to stop. If they stopped, what space epics would I have to look forward to? Star Trek??? And yes I can't stand the way Disney has treated the skywalker saga and the b.s they have said. But I've never understood fans of something that just don't want more of it. Like, if you don't like the new stuff don't watch it I guess. But the chance of something great coming out is worth the b.s to me.
The Mandalorian is gonna be a masterpiece. I have faith in Jon Favreau.
Rogue One was fantastic IMO. Also has probably the best scene in any Star Wars film:

The Mandalorian has potential.
Rogue One was not fantastic, it was just better than the Force Awakens. It's like 6/10 standing next to a 2/10. Comparatively it's a huge upgrade, but by itself it's just ok.
Calling that scene the best scene in any Star Wars film has to be a troll. It was just fan service, it doesn't come close measuring up to the iconic scenes in the Original Trilogy or even Prequel Trilogy. It was still my favorite scene in that movie though.

I’ll defend Rogue One here. The action sequences were easily some of the best in all of Star Wars. It made you feel like a part of the action in the theater tbh. It’s basically a Star Wars war movie and that’s exactly what I wanted from it. Also that Vader scene was spectacular whether it was fan service or not. I’ve always wanted to see Vader absolutely destroy people like the evil badass character he is and that’s finally what we got. That scene was done so well. The lightsaber lighting up the hallway, the desperation of the rebels, the hopelessness setting in, and then the last guy giving up the plans. That shit was awesome. Had my jaw on the floor in the theater.
the mandalorian looks like it could be good and maybe the new kenobi series will be too, but you're foolish to hold out hope on these things being good after the trash we've been served so far.
What's wrong with fan service? You complain that Disney talks shit about their real star wars fans. Then it's a problem when they service the real fans with something hardcore.
And I agree it is one of the best scenes in all of star wars. That scene gives us a look at why Darth Vader was supposed to be so terrifying. Its the only time we really get to see Vader be so menacing and it is absolutely awesome. The whole scene is just amazing from start to finish.
And unpopular opinion, but I think episode 1 was great. Maybe not from a critical/technical standpoint. But when I saw it in theaters as a kid it was amazing to me. And to this day its one of my favorite star wars movies (still hate jarjar).
Godfreid is just a Disney hater smh.
For real tho, the live-action Star Wars shows are what I’m most excited about. Ewan back as Obi-Wan for a whole show is awesome.
Kathleen Kennedy is the reason for so many Star Wars projects being shit. Firing directors left and right was a big problem.
The Mandalorian has a great cast. Pedro Pascal will kill it as usual. Written by Jon Favreau and George Lucas. Dave Filoni is an executive producer along with Favreau. Taika Waititi is gonna voice a character AND direct an episode. They have an insane budget because of Disney. I just don't see how this show can flop.
Disney is just too fucking soft most of the time. I mean seriously, do you guys remember the later seasons of the Clone Wars when it aired? That shit was BRUTAL. Political intrigue, graphic murder, the physiological affects of war on men bred specifically for it, this was by no means a kid show. It was capable of actually showcasing the vastness of the Star Wars galaxy, as well as exploring mature themes, to a bunch of middle schoolers hooked on tech. 10 year old me didn’t know what to make of it initially.
Rebels (for the most part) makes me want to cringe and Resistance is a joke. They completely lack that dark edge which made their predecessors so good to watch. The Mandalorian and Obi-Wan probably won’t be much different.
Gritty, fully fledged Star Wars might not even ever make a comeback unless Disney decides to take a big gamble. Of course, with merchandise being their biggest money maker, you can bet that their target audience will be children for a long time.
Judging by the reviews, I'm not too sure if I want to watch IX in theatre. My friends and I are torn: We hate Disney and the new trilogy, but we also don't want to get it spoiled as we know they will be everywhere.
I mean seriously, The Old Republic cinematics told better stories than this garbage.
Alright I just saw the movie. Honestly it was very enjoyable for the most part. Had some nice emotional scenes too. I’d even go as far to say it was at a pace where I’d have given it a 9/10 if it followed through. But most of the last 30 minutes of that movie were awful IMO. Had some really awesome moments tho I have to say. I really didn’t like the ending at all.But the ending is the part that matters lmao
7/10 maybe 7.5/10

Spoilers!SpoilerHan was not a force ghost. He was more of a memory that was shown in a more physical and literal sense. But her certainly was not a force ghost and they made that clear. He had no blue aura/glow around him and Kylo literally said he was just a memory. Also yes I agree that the biggest missed opportunity is not actually seeing Hayden Christenson return as a force ghost. Hearing him was great but we really needed to see him as a Ghost at the end. And I also think it would have been better to see him talking to Kylo instead of Han but I still enjoyed seeing Han in that moment none the less and it made sense overall. But that was one of the missed opportunities for sure. He should of at least been next to Luke and Leia at the very end. Or showed up to help Rey in her big moment. But really just hearing his voice a few times was enough to please me, like at least they did that. But even with the missed opportunity, I really enjoyed it all a lot. Even if it wasn't perfect.
And referring to Kylo being able to revive Rey, I think it is a little crazy. But Palpatine does say that the bond and power between Kylo and Rey is something extremely rare and powerful that almost no other Jedi and Sith have ever had. Atleast in a LONG time. (Can't remember his exact words.)[close]
SpoilerThis was definitely my favourite movie out of the 3. But as you guys said already, a lot of missed opportunities. I feel like the ending of the trilogy with this movie could have been SO much better if the build up through TFA and TLJ would have been done differently, or be there at all! While i felt that TFA was bland in character development before, now even more so since they chose the "Rey becomes a Skywalker" ending. TLJ of course took most of the story down a radically different path which then leads to them (among other things) bringing back palpatine and his secret society back there... Really makes you wonder how the trilogy would have turned out if they had a single director with the overall story in mind to direct all 3 movies.
I did like the yellow lightsaber at the end though.[close]
Spoiler
-finn never told rey nor poe what he wanted to say the entire movie[close]
I just watched the force awakens and the last jedi, dog shit movies.. honestly not expecting narrative-wise for this third movie I'm boutta see.yeah it’s absolutely that, then I put Solo asws up of this trilogy
They straight up just ripped off A New Hope and used the same story for Force Awakens??? I don't get it lmao
Do you all think a Clone Wars style animated series set in the new trilogy would help make the story better? I was asking my friends this as I would argue that TCW animated series really helped give a lot of characters interesting arcs that we didn't see in the films.good idea but the prequels were more interesting than the new trilogy universe in my opinion
Next trilogy will be Bane or something Old Republic related. And will likely have a Mandalorian/Solo/Rogue One type of style and theme. And as for Kenobi, it will be a live-action show like Mando on Disney+ featuring Ewan McGregor reprising his role as Obi-Wan.so what im hearing is that a vette trilogy is possible
My biggest problem with this movie is that they took absolutely no risks whatsoever.I agree, predictable af all the way through, it's like the director of this movie has 0 balls to make any impacting decisionsSpoilerChewy dead killed by Rey making her contemplate her powers and if she really is destined to be evil? Nah he was on a different ship. C3PO losing his memory and having all the build up to that moment? Nah 20 minutes later he gets it all restored. Woah the emperors lightning takes down the entire rebel fleet? Nah he stops and every ship recovers and destroys a fleet of thousands of star destroyers. Ben Solo thrown down a shaft like his grandpa did to the emperor? Nah he’s back to revive Rey. Rey dies in the ultimate sacrifice and ends the Palpatine line (potentially)? Nah the last Skywalker comes and gives his life so she could live. A power Anakin turned evil to learn and Ben does it outta nowhere.
This movie would have been way better if Rey ended up dying and Ben Solo being the last Skywalker. He could have gone into exile to Tatooine or repayed his debt to society by training the next generation of Jedi, but no of course they don’t have the balls to do that. The ending was so rushed. I'm pretty sure most people aren't fans of the new movie and actually just the trilogy in general, as you can see from the posts on this thread. Though this is also anecdotal, everyone I know said the movie was meh/shit. This whole trilogy was a disgrace to film/Star Wars and IT IS DOGSHIT. D O G S H I T. Disney fucked up, when do they not? Even Mark Hamill can't say anything good about the movies. You honestly must be braindead if you enjoyed the first two movies to any extent. I'll give this one some credit, it wasn't as bad as the other two, but it certainly still is bad. But yeah, I'm allowed to say the movie is dogshit because that's my opinion, I'm also allowed to say why I think it is a dogshit movie because that is also my opinion. But yeah I'll make sure to not say why I didn't like it next time so I don't get your panties in a twist... To me though the only redeemable thing about this trilogy to me is Kylo Ren/Ben Solo, badass character with a decent arc.
I don’t think I have ever met someone who actually consider TFA to be a good movie. Most people I encountered thought it was bad or mediocre
Read the spoiler in my last post, also not watching the new trilogy doesn't not make me a fan lol in fact most of the actual fans of Star Wars hate the new trilogy including TFA and the newest one. I just wanted to avoid seeing any bad movies which I knew was very likely going into them. It seems to me the people that liked the newest movie/TFA are casual watchers of star wars/kids. I don't really take into account critic scores because movie critics are actually fucked as you can see they gave TFA a 93/100 LMAO when it is a universally shitted on movie by Star Wars fans. Just read this thread Marc and see for yourselfI was implying you are not a real fan because you didn't know they had other color sabers. And the fact that you just watched this whole trilogy within the past week, not because you disliked this movie. Also, we aren't talking about the first 2 movies in this trilogy we are talking about THIS movie so not sure what that has to do with anything. And you said yourself this one was better than the first two.SpoilerMy biggest problem with this movie is that they took absolutely no risks whatsoever.I agree, predictable af all the way through, it's like the director of this movie has 0 balls to make any impacting decisionsSpoilerChewy dead killed by Rey making her contemplate her powers and if she really is destined to be evil? This thread does not account for all star wars fans lol. It is a very small minority. Like TINY. And of course, this trilogy was the worst yet. But I don't think that makes it completely horrible. I'm in several star wars groups and forums outside of FSE and I can tell you most fans really did enjoy Rise Of Skywalker. The Force Awakens is a 50/50 with people, and like 90% of people hate TLJ. And these groups are hardcore life long star wars fans like myself. Star Wars is my number one. I watched the original trilogy in theaters when they re-released in 1997 when I was a kid. And I've seen every single one on release day since and I saw the prequels multiple times in theaters. My room is covered in Star Wars posters. And my dad has a massive toy collection of Star Wars. Not even going to mention all the games etc. And guess what, I liked Rise Of Skywalker. And I know tons of old heads that did as well, people that literally grew up with the first release of the original trilogy. Using FSE as your sample size for "real fans" is just dumb man. Look around and I promise you'll see I'm not making this shit up.
Also don't think that I'm saying these movies were amazing. I hated TLJ. I mean really hated it. And I know Force Awakens and Rise Of Skywalker have some horrible flaws. And lack so much when compared to the other trilogies. And they could have been SO much better. But I still enjoyed them. And I think they are still decent Star Wars movies, even if I don't completely agree with them. (TLJ is unredeemable and completely horrible so exclude that from everything I'm saying.)Spoilerhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfWoflUzadI&t=27s[close]

Honestly TFA was probably the most enjoyable. It was the unknown of what was going to happen. We got introduced to new characters and got to see some of our favorite old characters. Yeah it followed the same plot as ANH but that was to introduce the new generation to Star Wars. I think it felt the most like a Star Wars movie.
It was a pretty good set-up movie. It’s just unfortunate that TLJ kinda tries too hard to be different. It really fucked up the trajectory of the trilogy. I do appreciate the effort to do something different, it just wasn’t executed well. I honestly liked certain parts of that movie a lot.
I’d have removed the Finn and Rose storyline. I would’ve made It so that Luke actually showed up to fight Kylo. Why have him die in the end anyways? That’s what pissed me off.
That Yoda scene was actually fantastic.
Rise of Skywalker is a 7/10. It’s a popcorn flick made to appease most audiences. That’s all it is. It was like the main characters were playing on the easiest difficulty. No risks were taken. Had a ton of potential that was wasted because they were scared to do anything. Marvel knew what they were doing with Infinity War and Endgame. Losses need to happen in order for the ending to mean much of anything.

My apologies, but I have to disagree with that. It is true that a lot of kids watch it, but I know a lot of older adults love Star Wars too. My father was 30 when he began to watch it. Just because Disney is now the owner of rights doesn’t mean it’s not for older people anymore. That being said, Star Wars should have never been sold to Disney, but oh well.

The movie certainly isn't perfect and few movies ever are. But it is still a good Star Wars movie. And did the best it could with what it had after TLJ. If you didn't like it that's fine, but to go around saying its DOGSHIT is just complete BULLSHIT. TLJ was DOGSHIT. This doesn't even come close to that level of trash.
I was implying you are not a real fan because you didn't know they had other color sabers. And the fact that you just watched this whole trilogy within the past week, not because you disliked this movie. Also, we aren't talking about the first 2 movies in this trilogy we are talking about THIS movie so not sure what that has to do with anything. And you said yourself this one was better than the first two.
And I have spoken to at least 20 different people that all said they liked the movie despite its obvious flaws. And to say most people didn't like this movie is complete bullshit considering actual stats prove otherwise.
Out of 40,000 viewers, 86% liked the movie. And that number will only grow.

Just saying, Disney who by extension owns that website has been manipulating numbers. That 86% is the same now with 77,000 verified reviews as it was with little over 6,000, which is more or less statistically impossible.
The majority of more passionate fans seem to dislike the new trilogy, most who like them seems like the more casual viewers. The people defending the movies online in discussions at least are a small miniority, and videos criticising the movies have garnered millions of views and usually overwhelming like to dislike ratios.

This movie would have been way better if Rey ended up dying and Ben Solo being the last Skywalker. So I watched the last one today and its amazing.
Its just as trash as the Last Jedi, maybe even worse.
Edit: Apparently I am also logged in with the wrong account.
Saw TRS today decent popcorn flick can see how it pisses of lore bois though.I'd say TFA was the only decent one. It had its cringey moments but it pulled through alright. ROS though, holy shit. They reduced Sidious to a quote machine, while also somehow cheat spawning a whole fleet into existence. The significance of Rey being a Palpatine didn't sit well with me either. The writers didn't know where to go with her, so I feel as if they just slapped her into that position without much forethought.
What made it 100 times better then TLJ to me was that they didn't force in that god awful humor, I almost had to turn the movie off at several points because I was cringing so hard at their attempts at humor. But I battled through it because it's Star Wars.
In the end it would seem the original movies will always be the only Star Wars movies that truly matters.
It is disappointing when Boba feels like a side character in his own fucking show... i didn't like the Mandalorian stuff in there at all, those episode sould've gone in season 3 of the Mandalorian but not in here they really put me out of the rhythm.

Sucks too cause those were the best episodes of any Star Wars show I think
Is it official that cad band is dead? I can see them using him again. He’s survived worse tbh.I mean we all know Disney
Cad Bane is like 70 years old and still was faster than boba at what like 50? I don’t think they did cad bane dirty at all he wanted one last chance to square off against boba and he knew he was gonna die soon anyway
Obi-Wan Kenobi is an absolute dumpster fire of a show. Horrible writing, awful directing, mediocre acting. I actually can't believe this is what they produced.Shut the fuck up
