In the case of South Carolina Capitol, the flag was set there in the 1960's or 1970's to oppose the Civil Rights movement, so this flag was indeed actually used as an offensive and racist symbol.

I really hate people take anything Buzzfeed or CNN says as fact. Beck moi tchew. The flag was raised over the South Carolina State House for the opening of the Civil War centennial in 1961. Please don't try to lecture me about how you consider our flag racist. How many peoples were enslaved under the flag of France? How many peoples were conquered and slaughtered? How many laws were put in place in France to restrict the rights of minorities? Code Noir anyone? So before you go off judging other people, look at yourself.

The Confederate flag is a symbol of the Southern people. The Kurds have their flag, the Tatars have their flag, the Bretons have their flag, etc. No matter the history of any of these groups, it is still a symbol of their heritage. Its a symbol of a people.

Shameful statement. John Brown must turn in his grave.

Also get down off your high tumblr atheist horse, Gluk. Nothing is more embarrassing than a teenager on the internet who accuses everyone of being stupid because they don't share his one true worldview.

I'm just saying that religion has caused a lot of the world's problems, this is a fact. I could care less if any of you are religious, as long as your belief isn't extreme to the point where you want to grab your guns and kill "all the god damn muslims" or if you aren't yelling "God hates fags" or some other bullshit of the nature. This is a religion thread, so i shared my opinion on religion, obviously everyone is going to get shit posts on a fucking religion thread. I made my point, now i'm not going to post on this thread anymore because this thread is just a magnet for salt and autism.

Explain how nuclear weaponry has solved anything? Guns? Cars might make us go fast from one place to another, but is still a huge problem to the world in terms of pollution. Mass production is like cancer to the worlds ecosystem too.. The inquisition should have burned the scientists when they had the chance...

You don't need to have a degree in physics to understand science is more than nuclear weapons and cars.

Science takes problems and solves them. The effects of the solution may cause more problems but once again science will be what solves the problem of pollution. Science may have caused pollution in the first place but it makes modern society the amazing (and temporary) powerhouse that it is. Science may have caused a few problems but they have not caused the overwhelming majority of the worlds problems. The progress and positives of science outweigh the negatives. Greed, religion and stupidity are the opposite of this.

I don't think you know what you're talking about.
