Mount and Musket: Battalion "Official" Hosted Server.

This is just an announcement that a full time, 200 slot server is now up and running. This server is run by Bauer of the Marins de la Garde Imperiale.

Enjoy the server! You can find a link to download MM Russia 3 here. Here are the rules of the server:

1. Absolutely, no double gunning! 2. Do not delay! 3. Do not team kill. We know an intentional team kill when see one. 4. Absolutely no extreme or disruptive behavior!

It has come to my attention that there have been an increasing amount of problems with people on the server. If someone is causing trouble, this includes mass TK's, trolling, delaying, or anything that goes against our rules above, please make a post on this thread in the following format:

Historical Reenactment / Questions about Reenacting

Howdy. I've always had this extreme fascination for reenacting, however when I look at prices for gear, a gun, all the necessities, this hobby is very expensive. I was looking to get into either a Napoleonic Era reenacting, or the American Civil War reenacting. I was curious as to which era would be cheaper? May be a silly question, but I'm asking this in all seriousness. Also, I was wondering if anybody knew a very good retailer or outfitter that's not too expensive. I don't want to spend $150 for a pair of boots, that's absurdly over-priced. Also, any place to get guns would be nice too.

I'm leaning far more to Napoleonic Era reenacting, and I was thinking of going French, since I'd prefer this "faction" over Britain anytime. It's hard finding reenactment's in East US, but hopefully, I'll get into it, and have fun.

Any links that can help me would be great. I've browsed quite a few sites and was appalled at prices. I could understand $1000+ for a gun, sort of... but I can't dish out that money.

Community / MM Russia3 Hosted Event [Next Event 2/11/13]

Welcome back, Mount and Musket! We wish to play you again, your holiness!

Thanks to a most successful event on Monday, the 28th of January, we now established a permanent, yet unofficial, line battle event for Mount and Musket. Let the Nostalgia commence. We now have our own two-hundred slot server (MM_Official_US)! However, until we can figure out if the server is stable enough for line battles, and we get enough controls and settings ready, we will be using the Rddt_MM_Server for the events. A special thanks to Rddt Brigade for doing this and making our events happen. The events are on Mondays (Dates will be listed) at 8pm Eastern. The event will start with a fifteen minute pre-battle training for pubs, and for other regiments that need the time. The first map change will be a random large map around 8:15pm Eastern. Maps and rounds are determined based on attendance. The smaller the attendance, the more maps.

Rules of the Event

Some changes are taking effect, since our first event was more or less a test run. Here is the new set of rules for the event:

Line Infantry Line Infantry will not be allowed to fire out of formation. In order to fire, the Line regiment must be in a line. Line Infantry are allowed a spacing of no more than one man. If only three players are left in a unit, they have the option to charge, retreat to the guns, assuming they are still operational, or to a nearby line.

Light Infantry Light Infantry will be allowed to fire out of formation. Light Infantry are allowed a spacing of no more than five men. Light Infantry require a minimum of four men, and a maximum of twelve men. Light Infantry are allowed to use anything for cover and are allowed to crouch. If only two players are left in a unit, they have the option to charge, retreat to the guns, assuming they are still operational, or to a nearby line.

Cavalry Dragoons are allowed to shoot from horseback. However, they must be in a line. No "Drive-by's." General Cavalry requires a minimum of eight men, and a maximum of sixteen men. Lancer Cavalry are allowed a maximum of twelve men. If only two players are left in a unit, they have the option to charge, retreat to the guns, assuming they are still operational, or to a nearby line. If only one Cavalryman is left in a unit, he is permitted to fight as such as long as he is within a general vicinity of his allies.

Artillery Artillery are allowed a maximum of two guns. Crew sizes are totally up to the regiment playing as artillery Artillery are allowed a maximum of eight guardsmen, of which are allowed to act as Light Infantry, as long as they stay close to the cannons. Artillery Guardsmen are allowed to leave their guns as long as they are in a line similar to that of Line Infantry.

Community / I'll make you regiment threads! (Not taking requests)

Howdy,

I have incredible fun building and designing threads. If you have a regiment currently, or are planning on making one, I will personally build and design you a thread! So, how do I do this? Good question. Let's say you're making a new regiment, a basic example is the 1st Foot Infantry. You will tell me what you want on the thread, and how you want it to look. I will then PM you the thread the the BB Code so you can simply copy and paste and manage your own thread. It's that easy.

Depending on the complexity of the thread will determine the time it will take. I hope this will catch on, as I have not much of anything better to do with my time. This'll give me something productive to do, and help out with the community!

I am looking for someone to help with the high loads of inquires for regiment threads, if you're interested, please PM me.

I can even make you signatures if you'd like, like this one I made for the Royal Marine Corps.!

Official Servers Bans & Unbans / Another stupid unban request from yours truly!

Hi... again. It's your truly, Marins_Garde_Flt_Petschie.

I'm really getting sick and tired of this shit with these admins on NW_Official_US1.

So, I got banned today, more than likely for saying "derpfag" in the context as follows.

I'm in melee, circling a rock.
I get shot.
Me: "Figures..."
Some random guy comes up to my dead body and teabags me.
Me: "Leave it to these stupid derpfags to TBag" (Or some variation of this)
Almost immediate ban follows by some AdO Konitzer guy.

I've never seen this admin before, and he hadn't talked in chat using the admin shoutout.

Again, this is getting really annoying. What really honestly amazes me is the amount of people that make sexuality related and some racial remarks on a daily basis and it goes unpunished. I haven't been on US1 for a while and I say one little thing and then...
