Confederate States Army

Welcome!

Welcome to the Confederate States Army thread! Here you can find all the important information regarding this community. Below is a list of our rules, events, and the structure of units. We have the privilege of being one of the largest North and South based Communities! We will continue to provide the best event experience in North and South. We host in North American based division and look forward to adding more members into our growing family. If you have any questions regarding anything about the Confederate Army, then please add [CSA]Major General Francis on Steam. Until then, I look forward to seeing you on the battlefield!

History of the Community

The Confederate States Army was first formally known as the 2nd Division, in the Dixieland Army. On April 29th, 2018, 8th Virginia, 5th Georgia, 7th Georgia, 26th North Carolina, and the 2nd Virginia meet in the meeting room of the 2nd Division. In this channel, Major General Francis of that division spoke in terms of leaving the Dixieland Army. Although motives seem to be argued among the members of the DA and the CSA, the Confederate States Army doesn't harbor any harsh feelings towards the Dixieland Army. And ever since the leave, the Confederate States Army as continued to grow in numbers.

Expectations and Ideals

We expect certain characteristics and conduct from members when they join. We require that members conduct themselves in a manner that creates a fun and accepting environment for members. People with great leadership skills are always welcomed and we encourage members to come forward with them. As our community grows, so does the need for responsible, mature leaders. We also require of all our members a level of maturity, regardless of age. While this is a prerequisite for an Officer, it is also something enlisted men must exhibit as well. This means extremely racist topics and comments will not be permitted. Along with harassing or slandering other regiments and communities within North and South, trolling and other disturbances are prohibited. These prerequisites will be maintained and upheld to fit our standards. and provide a fun and welcoming environment for all!

Iron Brigade was established on the 7th of July, 2018 and is the first United States Brigade made in the Confederate States Army.  Noted for its strong discipline, its unique uniform appearance, and its tenacious fighting ability, The Iron Brigade (also known as The Black Hats (Black Hat Brigade, Iron Brigade of the West, and originally King's Wisconsin Brigade), was an infantry brigade in the Union Army of the Potomac during the American Civil War. Although it fought entirely in the Eastern Theater, it was composed of regiments from three Western states that are now within the region of the Midwest.

Saturday Night Linebattle
Host: 2nd Division [NA]
Time: 8est

Hello, and welcome to 2nd Division Saturday Night event. We welcome all North and South and Napoleonic Regiments to our event. Rules are pretty standard and simple. Any question regarding this event, please add me on steam at [DA_MajGen] Francis [5thGA]. This event is the main event for the NAs of the Dixieland Army. Therefore the events are balanced with 2nd Division Vs. Eastern Iron Brigade and other community Brigade. This means that some specialties may be taken by organized units. Admin will notify independent regiments what are specialties are open. Until then, I look forward to see you on the battlefield.

Rules:
1.) Be polite in all games and Teamspeak Servers.

18.) A regiment that wishes to leave their first Brigade to another, must request to both Brigadier Generals about the leave. This rule also must be followed by Brigadier Generals and rest of High Command!

20.) Before leaving a regiment for another, the colonel of the regiment you are joining must wait 24 hours before setting tags on yourself. Same concept must be applied for a newly formed regiment. Newly formed regiment must wait 24 hours before joining a new brigade. This rule can relate to rule 17 above.

I've been playing North and South Beta 1.0 since it was in closed beta. Even when it was first on the Union Army Server, and I never had a problem with the mod. Acted like any other mod when it came play time.Such as the no crashing, no freezing, or the long delays in movement. However, with the new release of the newer version of the beta, the mod as been hell to play with.

Today was the first official event in the Dixieland Army, with a good attendance around 130 people. First time that my regiment (5th Georgia Volunteers) would get to use our skins. Pretty excited, and the fact that I was offline for two days, so I was eager to enjoy the 1.0. However, after I got the balance with the teams situated, I tried joining the server(Crashed while changing maps), and  every time I tried to log into the several, with the map of Manassas Day, it crashed. I've tried 7 times to log into the server, and it crashed. So, I figured it was the map. As soon it changed to the next map, Side of Town, I'd join it. For a couple of mins, it freezes, I crash. Or, the Uniforms turn black, and a red text pops up in the lower left corner. The text reads " Unable to open texture file *Texture name* Modules/North and South(EDX-1)". After that, the games crashes because all the uniforms turn black. And of course there's other ways the game crashes like, freezing while trying to move, hell even looking around, ect. Im not saying I have a bad computer, I can usually run Arma two on high graphics and alot of other games. So I really don't know where the problems lies.

I turned down my graphics, hoping that would relieve it. Nothing, I've reinstalled the mod, nothing, Ive also reinstalled Mount and Blade: Warband nothing. Change the directx from 9 to 7. And also messed around with the screen resolution. No luck  If you guys know anything regarding how I can simply enjoy a event without crashing every 5mins, that would be awesome.  :D

Type of crashes
 - New map
- Slow motion, then crash
- Selecting a sever to join
- Choosing a new faction
- Banners in the sky
- Blue ground on the map
- Black textures
- Red text pop up "Unable to open texture file *Texture name* Modules/North and South(EDX-1)"
