Too long have our pleas for the unveiling of our beloved and supreme leader, Grimsight, been denied.  We demand photographic evidence and validation of the man we have called our "Colonel" for over a year.   This Canadian has evaded our grasp for too long.

Off Topic / How many hours have you played and why?

Just a little fun thread to post/showoff how many hours you've played in Mount and blade/NW.  Feel free to post!

I have around 923 hours and have played the game since launch.  I never bought mount and blade previously.  I only bought mount and blade for NW.  I've played this game because it's fun and addictive.  I love trying to master the melee and trying new things like skirmishing and cavalry.

Off Topic / Troll Group in NA/NW community

As some of you's may have already witnessed, there has been a sudden influx of trolls in Napoleonic wars events, of people taking others names and trolling in events.  If you see anyone of these names in events or in the forums, STEER CLEAR.  BushPirateBlitzer, BushPirate, Blitzer, ThunderBringer, Milk, Miklahm, Wolfie, Potato, and any other out of place merc/Cadet.  Their strategy is to either join a regiment and troll or merc for a regiment and troll.  So I would recommend looking into your newer recruits/mercs.  Because just today we got a new Cadet in the 3eVolt and 2 mercs followed with him.  The two mercs shot Grimsight (Our Colonel) In the head and began teamkilling our whole line before we stopped him.  A round later our Cadet began doing the same.  For the whole event we would have random players with regiment's tags on and instantly beginning to teamkill.  This is a friendly warning to the Napoleonic Wars Community.  Watch your back. there is a troll group going around that wants no more then to ruin your fun.  Some of the members of this troll group ARE European and some are North American, so on both fronts watch out.

Community / Anyone not excited for new update?

I feel as if I am one of the few people who am not eager for another update/patch. The last major patched nerfed the up attack and ruined the game for me for over 3 months. I didn't play it for several months until I forced myself to get used to it. I've heard rumors of Nerfs and buffs coming in this patch and they seem so redundant and pointless.  Like a Rifle nerf and pistol buff? And cannon nerf? Why change what isn't broken Paradox? Anyone else share these feelings?

Just felt like starting this thread, post below if being in a certain regiments grants certain special attention.  Or to the opposite if being in a certain regiment actually hurts how people see you.  Just post below in general if being in a regiment has a certain positive or negative effect on anything.  Like if it's more fun to pub or to be in a regiment

Nature of their offense: Attacking me for no reason after I clearly killed an enemy in an open field.  He walked up to me after I killed the enemy and started attacking me, I blocked his first two attacks and tried to type to tell him to stop but then he just stabbed me and killed me and walked away, when I asked him why he did it: his words were "Sorry dawg Im out of it and going crazy." :/ I wish I could make it up but he just teamkilled me for no reason and his reasoning was he thought he was fighting an enemy when even with the banners turned off you can see your teammates green name clearly :/  The fight went on for nearly 10 seconds and surely he would've known it was before he stabbed me.  I call trolling and blatent teamkilling.

Time and date of their offense: Wednesday, February 27th, 2013 at around 9:15 Est

If needed, what your relationship was to the offense in question: I was the one who was attacked and then killed. 

Any proof if you have it, For instance screenshots: In the middle you see me killing the enemy and then seconds after me being killed by him.

Released Modifications / Napoleonic wars sound modification: Musket, Rifle, pistol, cannons, explosions.

I am not the creator of this mod and the original creator posted this a year ago on the now inactive taleworlds forum so I will give the link to that original link all credit goes to its original owner, I have just noticed that this is a great mod that has not been given proper attention since it seems the original creator has gone missing, and not made a new forum on the more active FSE forums.  Here is the link to the original thread and this is the whole thing copy and pasted this is not my work, I am merely spreading the word of a lost mod lost in the taleworlds forums. All credit goes to the original creators.

Fire and Smoke

The Fire and Smoke sound modification seeks to alter the atmosphere of the game by replacing the following sounds:

- All musket and rifle firing and impact sounds
- All cannon firing and impact sounds
- All rocket firing and impact sounds
- All explosion sounds

The musket sounds have previously been used in forum user solecist's "Sound and Smoke FX" mod for With Fire & Sword, other sounds have been compiled from sound mods for Empire: Total War and Napoleon: Total War.

I have done some minor mixing, and altered the files as to make them function properly in Napoleonic Wars,
it is solecist who deserves most of the credit for the creation of this sound pack.



The Reenactor's Musket Sounds


The reenactor's musket sounds are a set of musket sounds recorded outdoors, the only mixing these files have undergone is the removal of some of the background noise (birds/mumbling) and an increase in volume, thus they are very natural, closer to the actual recordings.

The download link for the reenactor's musket sounds also contains the artillery and explosion sounds from the Fire and Smoke sound pack.



Installation


- Locate the directory where warband is installed, open the "Modules" folder, then the Napoleonic Wars folder, then place the files within the "Sounds" folder.
- If you have warband on steam the placement will probably look like this: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\mountblade warband\Modules\Napoleonic Wars\Sounds
- I advise you keep the default files saved elsewhere to make reverting easier, alternately you can verify the integrity of the game on steam.
- I also suggest that you disable the "sound variation" option, in the configuration menu of the splash screen, as it will make some sounds unrealistic if enabled.


I hope you enjoy these sounds as much as I do.
