92nd & 33rd Sunday Flag-Spawning Event [EU]

Spain & Portugal 1810 Following the capitulation of Austria in 1809 at the Battle of Wagram, France is once again ready to go on the offensive in the Peninsular. Marshal Massena as the newly appointed commander of the army of Portugal, prepares to move against the British and Portuguese army under Wellington, occupying territory in northern Portugal and the fortified city of Cuidad Rodrigo... At the start of each week the next events conflict will be posted here, showing the attack path of 3 divisions of French or Allied troops. Each path of attack represents one server, with battle commencing at the end of the first arrow. Depending on which side wins this round will dictate whether the attackers push deeper into enemy territory (2nd arrow) or retreat back and fight on their own turf. Over the course of the week before the event, participants can choose which server they are playing in or wait to be assigned, which will be announced the day before the event. This will result in a serious shake up of the composition of each server each week, as classes will not necessarily be distributed evenly. All maps will be played using our flag-spawning game mode, but please be aware that the siege maps will therefore be largely experimental - we don't know how well this game mode will work on traditional siege maps so bear with us for the first couple of events! Please find below the assigned Divisions (Servers) and classes for each regiment, ensure your members only take classes assigned so that the spawning scripts function correctly. Bear in mind these have been based on the territories fought over in the first round so if classes find themselves on an undesirable map for the 2nd round (Cavalry on a fort map for example) they may swap half way through the event to any blank class on another server. Please note some classes such as Dragoons (and Lancers for France) have been re-purposed to allow for enough individual classes. All other Cavalry classes will spawn your members as Light Cavalry. If there are multiple Artillery units on one server feel free to take the same class as there are no mass respawning functions for this unit.

Thanks mate! Something needs tweaking on the Siege-like maps to make them work properly with the flag-spawning but this is something that can be looked at over Christmas break after next week Even with the ticket imbalance which the attackers had to contend with on that Cuidad Rodrigo map, it looked like a really nice spin on what would usually be a run of the mill siege; I saw plenty of the attacking lines had clocked on that they could continue to put pressure on an entrance to the fort if they kept their flag well guarded nearby.

I'll have the next offensive mapped out in a day or two x

Myself and 2 others spent about 15 minutes stuck in a wall on the 3rd server. We could stand ontop of eachother to shoot over. Thats my leading prowess, catch these hands!!!

It was quite fun although its probably worth making some parts of the river deeper than the others, kind of like in Total War to stop the cav from just running to the otherside and yoloing the arty constantly. Ours ended up just joining the line after a while.

March 1810 The latest invasion of Portugal under Marshal Soult has ended in disaster, the 3rd division defeated in the field and pushed back to Madrid, the 2nd division narrowly expelled from the walls of Cuidad Rodrigo and finally with both 1st divisions fighting each other to a stalemate in the North. In March the Allies are poised for two offensives in the south and a flanking offensive through central Spain. French forces must hold their ground else they suffer the same fate as those at Bailen two years before... Just a reminder that battle will commence in each server at the end of the first arrow.
