Looking at the making-of of episode 5, I grew a little bit more understanding of some of the choices made by the writers, right up to the moment of Daenarys decision to burn shit down. There is absolutely no point in it. I thought the whole point was about whether or not let loose the dragon to fight the soldiers/kill cersei because of possible colleteral damage. But she won her fucking victory, the city surrendered, and yet she decides to just start burning civilians. Not just the Red Keep, not just the surrendering soldiers, but just civilians. You can't say 'Well she said would take what is hers with fire and blood' because she WON. And now, obviously, she lost everything. I mean, what is going to be the subject of the finale? Jon Snow spending 1,5 hour debating people whether or not to stab Danearys in the chest?

Yeah, I thought the whole point was that they allowed the citizens inside the red keep, so that Dany would not burn Cersei. Why did Dany decide to go for the Red keep last. How does any of this make sense.

It's a shame it took fucking up Daenarys' storyline for the normies/casuals to finally catch onto these hacks. Nobody cried out when my boys Stannis and Littlefinger were written out in the most lackluster and ridiculous ways possible.

Yeah, since Season4 it went downhill fast.

Before that, a lot of the decisions to change stuff or remove stuff at least were defendable.  But almost nothing D&D did since they ran out of book material can be defended in any way possible.

Of all the inconsistencies that irked me in that episode, the bit where Jaime claims he doesn't give a shit about the inhabitants of King's Landing was the worst. Visually stunning episode but the writing was total garbage as usual.

I think it's more like a message to the HBO that the fans really were displeased with the direction the showrunners decided to take the show.

Maybe the show is cannon and George lost confidence in his own work and this is all part of his story telling.

Maybe he had one too many happy meals and the sodium finally cooked his brain.

Maybe Dan and Dave are the good guys trying to make sense of what obese old aged George shat out lazily laughing on his big pile of money.

I mean when has Hollywood ever betrayed us?!

Last predictions:

Episode will be titled after the planned final book, "A Dream of Spring".
Tyrion will get turned into toast when Dany finds out he freed Jaime.
D&D will lead us on to think Arya will kill Dany, but Jon will do it suddenly.
Drogon runs away (probably to Valyria).
Jon goes back up North after feeling bad about stabbing his aunt, maybe reuniting with Tormund and Ghost.
Remaining crew in King's Landing draws straws for the next leader.
Arya figures it's probably better to give up the whole assassin thing and goes to Storm's end with Gendry.
As many believe, the final scene will be an old Sam (played by GRRM) finishing reading this story to his grandkids.
