I've noticed 3 types of people on this thread.
1. People who swear they never take the game seriously (Even though they have an FSE account and care enough to respond to banter) and always make sarcastic remarks about people who actually want to discuss the game. (Dan, and Glenn are the ones i've noticed the most, no offense you're all cute ;))
2. People who actually want to discuss the game and players because they enjoy the game and the community.
3. The memers that strive and feed off of the banter.
Yes ladies and gentlemen, it is a video game and once you step away from the screen nobody gives a shit, but i don't see the need to bash anybody for wanting to have a legit discussion about it? Its the same thing with any competitive game really; there are players, and there are rankings. Dismissing the rankings and saying "Oh its just a game who gives a shit" is a cheap way to escape a discussion. Really? NW is just a game?!?!?!? HOLY SHIT BATMAN

I dunno about not taking this game seriously. I like this game. I think it's a halfway decent game. It is autistic at times as is the community. I have meant some of the nicest people and shittiest people on the game. I dunno maple you seem like you know everything that's going on with your keen observations. The surface is only one portion of the onion that is NW's community though.
Ty for proving my point

Add 2ndQF Red to all time list, though persay he wasnt on havocs level at havocs peak, red was pretty darn close in terms of skill (and was better than havoc before he(havoc)nerded out and got really good). Red was around longer, and his presence was huge in every lb. I would give red the same rating as havoc.
Havoc doesn't deserve to be that high at all lol. From my knowledge, he won 1 tournament then left and was never heard of again. Hence the reason why all you old ass players are biased because all you can ever think about when you sleep is "Rusty", "Prime", "Peak", "Was", and "Used to". You guys don't realize how terrible the average player was back then compared to now. I always hear these stories of players being "a huge impact in lbs", but thats never the case. If a player has a huge impact on the overall outcome of the match, then the other regiment(s) have shite players. I've never heard of a person named Red mentioned once as a great player other than now. The past never happened and its all fabricated. Your memes are all dried up Tammo, time for you to go to the place where NW players die, CSGO

Why is Kovy so low...he is better than most on the list lmao

Groupfighting takes skill lol, knowing how and trying to read your team mates mind is a lot harder then 1v1ing, 1v1ing is basically just who uses this games gimmicks better than the other, while groupfighting is a combination of working together, communication, game sense, positioning, etc. Some people are great groupfighters and not great duelists because  they understand groupfighting and focus on it/ develope their style to do so, which might not work out in a duel. But seeing as this is a team based game, groupfighting is more important too. I would rather have 10 people who understand how to groupfight than 10 duel heroes in a fight.

Though I agree somewhat, but to be a "duel hero" you basically automatically are a good groupfighter. You automatically have the skills to be a good groupfighter by being a good duelist, however being a good groupfighter does not make you a good duelist. Top tier dueling is all about game sense, positioning, and reading your opponents. Any good "Hero" worth his salt can read multiple opponents as easy as he can read one. Take a look at Jackie real quick. Hes a great duelist, but lacks communication. What makes his dueling so great though is how easily he reads his opponents and adapts his style. Every time ive FT7d him, I always start out with the early lead, only to get rolled out of nowhere once he adapts to my style and learns to read my movements. Every duelist can read opponents and adapt like that, its just the better a duelist you are, the better you are at doing just that. Thats why alot of great duelist's skills seem to translate into solid groupfighting without fail (i.e Jackie, Tammo, Russianfury, etc), so I think ill go ahead and say id rather have 10 duel heroes than 10 people who understand how to groupfight.

I mean, a lot of top duelers are decent groupfighters but that is because they trained it (many many hours), along with dueling, but take blood for an example, he hasn't won any duel tournys but everytime I see him play he top frags. I could give examples of people owho are great duelists but don't group fight that well but im not gonna be rude. But switching opponents and knowing when to disengage, is key to groupfighting and I see a lot of solid players not doing that. Being a great duelist doesn't make you a great groupfighter, and being a great groupfighter doesn't mean you are a great duelist. Take your 10 duel heroes and watch them bait each other, and get back stabbed by my groupfighters  8)
Make it official, 10 "duel heroes" vs 10 "groupfighters"  U WONT

I disagree, i'm going to keep this short for now, but a quick example would be Jackie and Zzehth. They are good because of their combination, without one, they would be incomplete. They are both individually great duelists...Jackie is a great dueler lets say, but his individual skill doesn't really show much because of what GFing is.

I don't think PUGs should count because it is not a serious "tournament", if you can even call it that. If we're judging PUGs, then we should be judging every server that anybody has ever been on. What separates this from NAGF? Its just a bunch of players messing around on a server out of boredom, not competition. I don't see anybody go all out on this because there is nothing to go out on. None of this is being recorded or saved. Groupfighting's skill level is mediocre, it only shows the skill of a team, not an individual. If anybody ever "carries" in a groupfighting match, it is because of their team, not them by themselves. Some people work well with others, some don't, its all about the equilibrium between players. Then again, i am very biased because i dislike GFing due to the fact that you're dependent on your team. I've seen players who were not very good individually be at the top of leaderboards. Why? Because their team brought them there.
How tf would you know? Come out of your spawn for once and stop attempting to clutch.
My b, offended a "Top tier GFer", but a mediocre duelist. I don't know where you're referring to when you say "out of your spawn for once and stop attempting to clutch." , but really you should stick to leading regiments that become the "best" once everyone else has left.

General Discussion / Re: Groupfighting or Dueling?
« on: February 25, 2016, 02:52:13 am »
Groupfighting because when I go on one of those servers it is to practice and in a linebattle you aren't going to be queueing up to duel the enemy.
This.....
Unless you say "dools"
