April 2022 The 33rd is as ever, openly Recruiting! We host five unique events to attend alongside numerous others specifically scheduled each week, with no commitment beyond attending one event a week to stay on our Roster. We maintain three active companies - Line with Lights and Cavalry to support, with 125 members on the strength as of April 2022. Events Our Events have gone largely untouched since our last update, with the exception of our newly hosted Tuesday Event in Battle Cry of Freedom; the event has gone from strength to strength and despite the slight drop-off in players since release has found its place in the communities schedule as a solid weekly EU event, offering a diverse set of gamemodes and maps to its participants. Our events in NW still continue to be popular amongst our own and the rest of the community whilst we continue to play BCoF once per week to keep out foot in the door as it were.       Promotions All senior promotions this months belonged to our cavalry troop so congratulations to our newly appointed Lance Corporal of Horse Mark & Lieutenant Duffman. The latter joined our ranks in 2017, transferring to the cavalry by 2018. In the past 4 years he has climbed the ranks and offered unwavering support to the troops CO and most recently commanding the company himself on numerous occasions. Mark joined the regiment in 2018, recruited directly into the cavalry. His constant dedication to the troop and skill at arms has proven him worthy to occupy an NCO position, which has been vacant for many months. All the staff wish them the best of luck in their new positions.       Tournaments Tournaments participation has been fairly muted since the conclusion of EGS and regimental tournaments at the beginning of the year, the one exception is our own NWBC tournament for which we await to play out the knock-out stage. Our team, despite comprising the same regiments as previous seasons feels substantially different and we have thoroughly enjoyed our group-stage matches, a couple being close and all exciting. As a final note our regiments 10 year anniversary is fast approaching; preperations are in motion so watch this space and keep June 5th free... Monday Double-rank Event (Monthly) - 19:00GMT - - 160-200 players - Monthly Line-only, Double-rank event using a range of Custom maps. RP Ruleset & Ranged damage reduction (70%) to reduce shooting casualties (double rank).	Wednesday Conquest Event - 19:00GMT - - 120-160 players - Conquest event utilising scripts to force base spawning rules. FiC and RiC permitted on flags areas, Lights, Cavalry and Artillery special classes.	Wednesday Historical Event - 19:00GMT - - 160-200 players - Replaces our Wednesday Conquest event twice a month, on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month. A mix of Gameplay and Roleplay orientated rounds, to play out various historical scenarios in depth. Ranged damage reduction (70%) to reduce shooting casualties (double rank)
Saturday Siege Event - 19:00GMT - - 120-160 players - Siege Event allowing each line to field 1 or 2 artillermen and a sapper each with each event consisting of 2 maps & 4 rounds. July 2022 The 33rd is as ever, openly Recruiting! We host five unique events to attend alongside numerous others specifically scheduled each week, with no commitment beyond attending one event a week to stay on our Roster. We maintain four active companies - Line infantry and Light infantry companies alongside attached Cavalry and Horse Artillery Troops, with 92 active members on the strength as of July 2022. Structure A great deal has happened within the regiment since our last update in May, first and foremost welcoming the new Horse Artillery Troop to the regiment; this is a first for the 33rd in our 10 years of existence and we wish Baker the best of luck, members consisting of nice lads whom we have seen/known for many years in the wider community. The 'Baker's Dozen' are looking to take on new members, with any events that we host having horse artillery scripts to give this unit a unique spin with higher mobility. Also with a resurgence in new members we are also rebooting our Infantry B team, allowing our less experiences players to sink their teeth into some groupfighting; The Invalids team will be playing regularly again shortly so watch this space!       Anniversary Our 10 year anniversary event has also come and gone which went successfully (even with our server taking all the strain!) and hosted just short of 700 players at final count, including members from across the entire community. A heartfelt thankyou to all attendees and those individuals who were instrumental in its organisation, the workload for which was considerable! We saw many old faces from old days of the 33rd at this event which was quite simply amazing and gave the event such a nostalgic feel for us, the 33rd fielding just short of 100 players across 6 companies for the day. Senior promotions included Alec and Kincaid, to Captain and Colonel respectively. Congratulations to Alec for all his hard work over the last year since Spoons' departure, breathing new life into our brilliant Light company, having worked his way through the ranks since joining in 2017. Tournaments Tournament participation has been exciting with Harrison's Heroes achieving first place in a nail bitingly tense final for the NWBC tournament, thankyou to our fellow team members in the 4e Hussars and 92nd Foot for being superb teammates. Our team, despite comprising the same regiments as previous seasons feels substantially different and we have thoroughly enjoyed our group-stage matches, a couple being close and all exciting. Also congratulations are in order to SubV whom back in May participated in Bodya's Rookie tournament, slogging through a whopping 11 matches back to back and narrowly losing to the tournament winners by 1 round! The teams members have gone from strength to strength since the conclusion of the last EGS season and it's been fantastic to see them improve, just a baby step from the podium on this one.       Events A huge thankyou to Supak, Cedric and Burnes for their group scripting/mapping edeavour, in the form of a new Conquest Assault gamemode which we will be trialing over the new few months. Not yet confirmed how this will fit into our schedule but after the next playtest on 13th July we will be in a position to implement it on a more regular basis. Our Monthly Line-only event is also undergoing review with a potential re-schedule to Saturdays. Other events should be remaining fairly similar bar the inclusion of Horse artillery alterations to all our events which warrant it. Saturday Line Event - 19:00GMT - - 160-200 players - Line-only event using a range of Custom maps with No FiC or RiC, utilising flag-spawning scripts. RE-SCHEDULED DAY TBC!
