October 2021 The 33rd is as ever, openly Recruiting! We host five unique events to attend alongside numerous others specifically scheduled each week, with no commitment beyond attending one event a week to stay on our Roster. We maintain three active companies - Line with Lights and Cavalry to support, with 138 members on the strength as of October 2021. The 33rd has been back in business after ticking over for the summer months, with our 1st Sunday event in September formally marking the reformation of our Light Company; their members and staff have done an exceptional job in bringing players both new and old back in to their ranks and the lights now stand once again as a company with solid attendance! We have participated in a reasonable number of groupfights this month but aim to ramp this up, with the regiments impending participation in RGL. Our Sunday event in particular - co-hosted with our friends the 92nd - continues to gain popularity, see below for some content on this fantastic event. We have finished up in the 2v2 tournament with a respectable placement, with 3rd 4th and 5th teams all scoring very closely - hats off to our partners the 16th for playing with us this season. ABOUT US

His most Britannic Majesty's 45th Regiment of foot was raised on the 26th March 2016 by Vegetarian. It is a semi-serious competitive regiment that is English speaking and accepts all nationalities, Recruits have to attend one Line-battle and one training before becoming an official member of the regiment, so that you show you are dedicated enough to be active. The history of this regiment is as twisted and long as an olive branch with our first Colonel Vegetarian forming the regiment in 2016. The regiment changed hands multiple times until in 2017, Nova seized control of the regiment including both companies with the help of notable officers and NCOs, namely Flibbit, Maskman and Flasheart in a blood coup resulting in the disbandment of the Light Infantry. With the formation and dissolution of several companies such as cavalry and artillery, a successful merge with Mitchell's 10th in 2020 has guaranteed the 45th Nottinghamshire a place in the top five largest and best casual competitive regiments within the NW scene. Ever since, for three years straight the regiment has stayed a steady course towards great internal glory slowly becoming the power house it is today, a regiment with three separate companies hosting daily events being able to field a total 50-60 players at any given point.

The 45th Nottinghamshire is lead by Colonel Nova and boasts three detachments each with their own events which Nova oversees and leads. The 45th Nottinghamshire is well-rooted both in the casual and competitive scenes with the regiment hosting its own successful Thursday event as well as preforming very well in many regimental tournaments and leagues such as RGL, GLBT, RMT and Kincaids 2v2. The Regiment can be broken up into three separate detachments, The Centre Company is lead by Major Maskman and Lieutenant Mitchell. The Lights company is lead by Lieutenant Jack and finally the Grenadier company (Grens) lead by Ensign Jerome. For tournament and group fight matches only the very best from each company will be selected for attendance, the Grenadiers making up the backbone of the roster for competitive events.The regiment boasts an experienced cadre of NCOs who are invaluable in keeping good order in the line, such as Company Sergeant Major Valley and Lefty (Grens and Lights), Colour Serjeant Floris and Natty (Grens and Line), as well as many other junior NCOs often leading their respective companies on the ground whilst the officers and Battalion staff, tend to the regiment's administrative work. Special thanks to Flasheart, the most loved uncle of the regiment!

Our Goals in Napoleonic Wars The 45thN will mainly focus on participating in weekly-based line battles and sieges. The Regiment will mainly focus on improving their shooting and melee to compete in future 1v1s and 2v2s against other regiments. The 45thN is a very competitive regiment. We came 2nd in the 2nd division of GLBT. We do very often groupfighting events as well as tournaments. Trainings will also be organized throughout the week to get our members to their peak performance in the game. On the other hand, we will be jumping onto public servers to have a laugh and to enjoy ourselves, We want to accomplish in Napoleonic Wars to become a fun mature regiment to keep the entertainment at its highest peak! Recruit Guidebook The individuals of the regiment are constantly cheerful when a new member joins in. We will willingly welcome all those who show interest by joining the regiment. Once joined the regiment, Recruits are expected to show great dedication and motivation towards the regiment as well as improving their melee and shooting in-game. If you are active within 2 weeks, you will be promoted to Private and from there, you will slowly but surely progress through the ranks whilst showing melee skills and discipline. If you, however, encounter a problem within the regiment or your not to sure about something, then do please contact one of the Commanding Officers or a Non-Commissioned Officer as they will always be available at your disposal and would really want to help.

HISTORY - NOTTINGHAMSHIRE, 45TH REGT OF FOOT

Early History The history of The Sherwood Foresters goes back to 1741, when England was committed to War against France in Europe and later in Asia and America. In this year a new Regiment was raised and commanded by a Colonel Houghton. By 1745 the Regiment was in Gibraltar and under the command of a Colonel Warburton, while two years later it was serving in Nova Scotia. In 1751 numerical titles were introduced and the Regiment became the 45th. The aggressive actions of the French against the English in Canada resulted in the 45th being called out on active service. It was one of the regiments that won undying fame in storming and capturing from the French the Naval Arsenal of Louisburg, a stronghold that had been heavily and extensively fortified. The 45th Regiment served for twenty years in Canada, and for its gallantry at Louisburg was later awarded the first of the long roll of battle honours that now adorn the Colours. Although not present as a unit, the 45th was represented by its grenadier company in the British force that the gallant Wolfe led up the St. Lawrence River to capture Quebec and thus seal the doom of French rule in Canada. The Regiment Returns Home On returning home the Regiment served for some years in Ireland and when the American War Of Independence broke out, was among the reinforcements sent to New York in 1776. It fought at Long Island, Philadelphia, Brandywine, Germantown, and in other places, suffering losses but always exhibiting a high degree of courage and fortitude. After the War, the 45th reduced to less than 100 all ranks, returned home to Nottingham. The citizens of Nottingham requested that the Regiment should be called "The Nottinghamshire Regiment" and His Majesty agreed, providing 300 men were recruited in the county. With volunteers from the Nottinghamshire Militia and the influence of local landowners, the stipulated number was soon obtained. Between 1786-1794 and 1795-1802, the 45th was in the West Indies almost constantly engaged in fighting the French for possession of those islands - Martinique, Dominica and Les Saints being captured. Unfortunately yellow fever took a far heavier toll of the Regiment than did the enemy. After a brief period at home the 45th was soon on active service again. The Regiment was despatched to South America in 1807, where it took part in the attack on Buenos Aires, when every man of the small British force had to fight for his life in the street fighting that followed the capture of the town. After this action the Regiment embarked for home.

The Peninsular War The following year the 45th Regiment became part of the Peninsular Army, under Sir Arthur Wellesley, the future Duke of Wellington. The 45th was present at the opening battle, at Rolica in 1808, and served without a break in all Wellington's famous battles until the siege of Toulouse in 1814, winning no less than thirteen battle honours. The nickname, "The Old Stubborns", was bestowed on the regiment for its conspicuous bravery at the battle of Talavera. In that battle the French flung themselves in dense masses upon the advanced posts of the British Army, which were held by the 45th, who opposed the enemy with such firmness and courage that the enemy troops were first checked and then brought to a standstill. Retiring slowly, the 45th held up the enemy attack so completely that the entire sting was taken out of it, and the British were able to win a great victory. Wellington, describing the battle in his official report said: "Upon this occasion the steadiness and discipline of the 45th Regiment were conspicuous". In the Battle of Busaco, the 45th Regiment again distinguished itself leading the attack on a dense column of the enemy troops, which had reached the crest of the hill. The attack, made with the bayonet, was so fierce that the enemy was driven pell-mell down the slopes, leaving some hundreds on the ground killed and wounded. "1 can assure you 1 never witnessed a more gallant charge", wrote Wellington in his despatches. In the siege of Badajoz, a detachment of the 45th succeeded in getting into the Castle first and the red coat of an officer of the 45th was hoisted in place of the French flag to indicate the fall of the Castle. This feat is commemorated on the 6th April each year when red jackets are flown on Regimental flag staffs and at Nottingham Castle. Change in Title The secondary title 'The Sherwood Foresters' was granted to the 45th in 1866 by Queen Victoria; the Nottinghamshire Militia having previously been granted the title of "The Royal Sherwood Foresters" in 1813. In 1867, the 45th formed part of the British force that, under General Sir Robert Napier (afterwards Lord Napier of Magdala), fought in the Abyssinian campaign. This was one of the most remarkable exploits in the history of the British Army. Magdala, the capital, was a fortified city perched on the summit of a huge rock with almost perpendicular sides, and approachable on one side only. It was situated four hundred road less miles from the coast in the midst of a great range of mountains, over which the troops had to climb, and in some places had to haul their guns and limbers up by ropes. The 45th marched 300 miles in 24 days and actually covered 70 miles in 4 days over a mountain pass 10,000 feet high to be present at the capture of Magdala.

Early History The history of The Sherwood Foresters goes back to 1741, when England was committed to War against France in Europe and later in Asia and America. In this year a new Regiment was raised and commanded by a Colonel Houghton. By 1745 the Regiment was in Gibraltar and under the command of a Colonel Warburton, while two years later it was serving in Nova Scotia. In 1751 numerical titles were introduced and the Regiment became the 45th. The aggressive actions of the French against the English in Canada resulted in the 45th being called out on active service. It was one of the regiments that won undying fame in storming and capturing from the French the Naval Arsenal of Louisburg, a stronghold that had been heavily and extensively fortified. The 45th Regiment served for twenty years in Canada, and for its gallantry at Louisburg was later awarded the first of the long roll of battle honours that now adorn the Colours. Although not present as a unit, the 45th was represented by its grenadier company in the British force that the gallant Wolfe led up the St. Lawrence River to capture Quebec and thus seal the doom of French rule in Canada. The Regiment Returns Home On returning home the Regiment served for some years in Ireland and when the American War Of Independence broke out, was among the reinforcements sent to New York in 1776. It fought at Long Island, Philadelphia, Brandywine, Germantown, and in other places, suffering losses but always exhibiting a high degree of courage and fortitude. After the War, the 45th reduced to less than 100 all ranks, returned home to Nottingham. The citizens of Nottingham requested that the Regiment should be called "The Nottinghamshire Regiment" and His Majesty agreed, providing 300 men were recruited in the county. With volunteers from the Nottinghamshire Militia and the influence of local landowners, the stipulated number was soon obtained. Between 1786-1794 and 1795-1802, the 45th was in the West Indies almost constantly engaged in fighting the French for possession of those islands - Martinique, Dominica and Les Saints being captured. Unfortunately yellow fever took a far heavier toll of the Regiment than did the enemy. After a brief period at home the 45th was soon on active service again. The Regiment was despatched to South America in 1807, where it took part in the attack on Buenos Aires, when every man of the small British force had to fight for his life in the street fighting that followed the capture of the town. After this action the Regiment embarked for home.

The Peninsular War The following year the 45th Regiment became part of the Peninsular Army, under Sir Arthur Wellesley, the future Duke of Wellington. The 45th was present at the opening battle, at Rolica in 1808, and served without a break in all Wellington's famous battles until the siege of Toulouse in 1814, winning no less than thirteen battle honours. The nickname, "The Old Stubborns", was bestowed on the regiment for its conspicuous bravery at the battle of Talavera. In that battle the French flung themselves in dense masses upon the advanced posts of the British Army, which were held by the 45th, who opposed the enemy with such firmness and courage that the enemy troops were first checked and then brought to a standstill. Retiring slowly, the 45th held up the enemy attack so completely that the entire sting was taken out of it, and the British were able to win a great victory. Wellington, describing the battle in his official report said: "Upon this occasion the steadiness and discipline of the 45th Regiment were conspicuous". In the Battle of Busaco, the 45th Regiment again distinguished itself leading the attack on a dense column of the enemy troops, which had reached the crest of the hill. The attack, made with the bayonet, was so fierce that the enemy was driven pell-mell down the slopes, leaving some hundreds on the ground killed and wounded. "1 can assure you 1 never witnessed a more gallant charge", wrote Wellington in his despatches. In the siege of Badajoz, a detachment of the 45th succeeded in getting into the Castle first and the red coat of an officer of the 45th was hoisted in place of the French flag to indicate the fall of the Castle. This feat is commemorated on the 6th April each year when red jackets are flown on Regimental flag staffs and at Nottingham Castle. Change in Title The secondary title 'The Sherwood Foresters' was granted to the 45th in 1866 by Queen Victoria; the Nottinghamshire Militia having previously been granted the title of "The Royal Sherwood Foresters" in 1813. In 1867, the 45th formed part of the British force that, under General Sir Robert Napier (afterwards Lord Napier of Magdala), fought in the Abyssinian campaign. This was one of the most remarkable exploits in the history of the British Army. Magdala, the capital, was a fortified city perched on the summit of a huge rock with almost perpendicular sides, and approachable on one side only. It was situated four hundred road less miles from the coast in the midst of a great range of mountains, over which the troops had to climb, and in some places had to haul their guns and limbers up by ropes. The 45th marched 300 miles in 24 days and actually covered 70 miles in 4 days over a mountain pass 10,000 feet high to be present at the capture of Magdala.

His most Britannic Majesty's 45th Regiment of foot was raised on the 26th March 2016 by Vegetarian. It is a semi-serious competitive regiment that is English speaking and accepts all nationalities, Recruits have to attend one Line-battle and one training before becoming an official member of the regiment, so that you show you are dedicated enough to be active. The history of this regiment is as twisted and long as an olive branch with our first Colonel Vegetarian forming the regiment in 2016. The regiment changed hands multiple times until in 2017, Nova seized control of the regiment including both companies with the help of notable officers and NCOs, namely Flibbit, Maskman and Flasheart in a blood coup resulting in the disbandment of the Light Infantry. With the formation and dissolution of several companies such as cavalry and artillery, a successful merge with Mitchell's 10th in 2020 has guaranteed the 45th Nottinghamshire a place in the top five largest and best casual competitive regiments within the NW scene. Ever since, for three years straight the regiment has stayed a steady course towards great internal glory slowly becoming the power house it is today, a regiment with three separate companies hosting daily events being able to field a total 50-60 players at any given point.

The 45th Nottinghamshire is lead by Colonel Nova and boasts three detachments each with their own events which Nova oversees and leads. The 45th Nottinghamshire is well-rooted both in the casual and competitive scenes with the regiment hosting its own successful Thursday event as well as preforming very well in many regimental tournaments and leagues such as RGL, GLBT, RMT and Kincaids 2v2. The Regiment can be broken up into three separate detachments, The Centre Company is lead by Major Maskman and Lieutenant Mitchell. The Lights company is lead by Lieutenant Jack and finally the Grenadier company (Grens) lead by Ensign Jerome. For tournament and group fight matches only the very best from each company will be selected for attendance, the Grenadiers making up the backbone of the roster for competitive events.The regiment boasts an experienced cadre of NCOs who are invaluable in keeping good order in the line, such as Company Sergeant Major Valley and Lefty (Grens and Lights), Colour Serjeant Floris and Natty (Grens and Line), as well as many other junior NCOs often leading their respective companies on the ground whilst the officers and Battalion staff, tend to the regiment's administrative work. Special thanks to Flasheart, the most loved uncle of the regiment!

Our Goals in Napoleonic Wars The 45thN will mainly focus on participating in weekly-based line battles and sieges. The Regiment will mainly focus on improving their shooting and melee to compete in future 1v1s and 2v2s against other regiments. The 45thN is a very competitive regiment. We came 2nd in the 2nd division of GLBT. We do very often groupfighting events as well as tournaments. Trainings will also be organized throughout the week to get our members to their peak performance in the game. On the other hand, we will be jumping onto public servers to have a laugh and to enjoy ourselves, We want to accomplish in Napoleonic Wars to become a fun mature regiment to keep the entertainment at its highest peak! Recruit Guidebook The individuals of the regiment are constantly cheerful when a new member joins in. We will willingly welcome all those who show interest by joining the regiment. Once joined the regiment, Recruits are expected to show great dedication and motivation towards the regiment as well as improving their melee and shooting in-game. If you are active within 2 weeks, you will be promoted to Private and from there, you will slowly but surely progress through the ranks whilst showing melee skills and discipline. If you, however, encounter a problem within the regiment or your not to sure about something, then do please contact one of the Commanding Officers or a Non-Commissioned Officer as they will always be available at your disposal and would really want to help.

The Regiment des Kaiserreichs also known as the RKR is looking for recruits. You do not have to be experienced in line battles or even with the game in general. We participate in line battle events and siege events every weekend.

We are a fairly relaxed regiment, however, we still require a certain level of discipline during events. We also do not require that you come to every event and you can also go to EU and NA and OC events

If you do not wish to necessarily join right away as a recruit or just want to see what our regiment is like, we do accept mercenaries for our events.

His most Britannic Majesty's 45th Regiment of foot was raised on the 26th March 2016 by Vegetarian. It is a semi-serious competitive regiment that is English speaking and accepts all nationalities, Recruits have to attend one Line-battle and one training before becoming an official member of the regiment, so that you show you are dedicated enough to be active. The history of this regiment is as twisted and long as an olive branch with our first Colonel Vegetarian forming the regiment in 2016. The regiment changed hands multiple times until in 2017, Nova seized control of the regiment including both companies with the help of notable officers and NCOs, namely Flibbit, Maskman and Flasheart in a blood coup resulting in the disbandment of the Light Infantry. With the formation and dissolution of several companies such as cavalry and artillery, a successful merge with Mitchell's 10th in 2020 has guaranteed the 45th Nottinghamshire a place in the top five largest and best casual competitive regiments within the NW scene. Ever since, for three years straight the regiment has stayed a steady course towards great internal glory slowly becoming the power house it is today, a regiment with three separate companies hosting daily events being able to field a total 50-60 players at any given point.

The 45th Nottinghamshire is lead by Colonel Nova and boasts three detachments each with their own events which Nova oversees and leads. The 45th Nottinghamshire is well-rooted both in the casual and competitive scenes with the regiment hosting its own successful Thursday event as well as preforming very well in many regimental tournaments and leagues such as RGL, GLBT, RMT and Kincaids 2v2. The Regiment can be broken up into three separate detachments, The Centre Company is lead by Major Maskman and Lieutenant Mitchell. The Lights company is lead by Lieutenant Jack and finally the Grenadier company (Grens) lead by Ensign Jerome. For tournament and group fight matches only the very best from each company will be selected for attendance, the Grenadiers making up the backbone of the roster for competitive events.The regiment boasts an experienced cadre of NCOs who are invaluable in keeping good order in the line, such as Company Sergeant Major Valley and Lefty (Grens and Lights), Colour Serjeant Floris and Natty (Grens and Line), as well as many other junior NCOs often leading their respective companies on the ground whilst the officers and Battalion staff, tend to the regiment's administrative work. Special thanks to Flasheart, the most loved uncle of the regiment!

Our Goals in Napoleonic Wars The 45thN will mainly focus on participating in weekly-based line battles and sieges. The Regiment will mainly focus on improving their shooting and melee to compete in future 1v1s and 2v2s against other regiments. The 45thN is a very competitive regiment. We came 2nd in the 2nd division of GLBT. We do very often groupfighting events as well as tournaments. Trainings will also be organized throughout the week to get our members to their peak performance in the game. On the other hand, we will be jumping onto public servers to have a laugh and to enjoy ourselves, We want to accomplish in Napoleonic Wars to become a fun mature regiment to keep the entertainment at its highest peak! Recruit Guidebook The individuals of the regiment are constantly cheerful when a new member joins in. We will willingly welcome all those who show interest by joining the regiment. Once joined the regiment, Recruits are expected to show great dedication and motivation towards the regiment as well as improving their melee and shooting in-game. If you are active within 2 weeks, you will be promoted to Private and from there, you will slowly but surely progress through the ranks whilst showing melee skills and discipline. If you, however, encounter a problem within the regiment or your not to sure about something, then do please contact one of the Commanding Officers or a Non-Commissioned Officer as they will always be available at your disposal and would really want to help.

HISTORY - NOTTINGHAMSHIRE, 45TH REGT OF FOOT

Early History The history of The Sherwood Foresters goes back to 1741, when England was committed to War against France in Europe and later in Asia and America. In this year a new Regiment was raised and commanded by a Colonel Houghton. By 1745 the Regiment was in Gibraltar and under the command of a Colonel Warburton, while two years later it was serving in Nova Scotia. In 1751 numerical titles were introduced and the Regiment became the 45th. The aggressive actions of the French against the English in Canada resulted in the 45th being called out on active service. It was one of the regiments that won undying fame in storming and capturing from the French the Naval Arsenal of Louisburg, a stronghold that had been heavily and extensively fortified. The 45th Regiment served for twenty years in Canada, and for its gallantry at Louisburg was later awarded the first of the long roll of battle honours that now adorn the Colours. Although not present as a unit, the 45th was represented by its grenadier company in the British force that the gallant Wolfe led up the St. Lawrence River to capture Quebec and thus seal the doom of French rule in Canada. The Regiment Returns Home On returning home the Regiment served for some years in Ireland and when the American War Of Independence broke out, was among the reinforcements sent to New York in 1776. It fought at Long Island, Philadelphia, Brandywine, Germantown, and in other places, suffering losses but always exhibiting a high degree of courage and fortitude. After the War, the 45th reduced to less than 100 all ranks, returned home to Nottingham. The citizens of Nottingham requested that the Regiment should be called "The Nottinghamshire Regiment" and His Majesty agreed, providing 300 men were recruited in the county. With volunteers from the Nottinghamshire Militia and the influence of local landowners, the stipulated number was soon obtained. Between 1786-1794 and 1795-1802, the 45th was in the West Indies almost constantly engaged in fighting the French for possession of those islands - Martinique, Dominica and Les Saints being captured. Unfortunately yellow fever took a far heavier toll of the Regiment than did the enemy. After a brief period at home the 45th was soon on active service again. The Regiment was despatched to South America in 1807, where it took part in the attack on Buenos Aires, when every man of the small British force had to fight for his life in the street fighting that followed the capture of the town. After this action the Regiment embarked for home.

The Peninsular War The following year the 45th Regiment became part of the Peninsular Army, under Sir Arthur Wellesley, the future Duke of Wellington. The 45th was present at the opening battle, at Rolica in 1808, and served without a break in all Wellington's famous battles until the siege of Toulouse in 1814, winning no less than thirteen battle honours. The nickname, "The Old Stubborns", was bestowed on the regiment for its conspicuous bravery at the battle of Talavera. In that battle the French flung themselves in dense masses upon the advanced posts of the British Army, which were held by the 45th, who opposed the enemy with such firmness and courage that the enemy troops were first checked and then brought to a standstill. Retiring slowly, the 45th held up the enemy attack so completely that the entire sting was taken out of it, and the British were able to win a great victory. Wellington, describing the battle in his official report said: "Upon this occasion the steadiness and discipline of the 45th Regiment were conspicuous". In the Battle of Busaco, the 45th Regiment again distinguished itself leading the attack on a dense column of the enemy troops, which had reached the crest of the hill. The attack, made with the bayonet, was so fierce that the enemy was driven pell-mell down the slopes, leaving some hundreds on the ground killed and wounded. "1 can assure you 1 never witnessed a more gallant charge", wrote Wellington in his despatches. In the siege of Badajoz, a detachment of the 45th succeeded in getting into the Castle first and the red coat of an officer of the 45th was hoisted in place of the French flag to indicate the fall of the Castle. This feat is commemorated on the 6th April each year when red jackets are flown on Regimental flag staffs and at Nottingham Castle. Change in Title The secondary title 'The Sherwood Foresters' was granted to the 45th in 1866 by Queen Victoria; the Nottinghamshire Militia having previously been granted the title of "The Royal Sherwood Foresters" in 1813. In 1867, the 45th formed part of the British force that, under General Sir Robert Napier (afterwards Lord Napier of Magdala), fought in the Abyssinian campaign. This was one of the most remarkable exploits in the history of the British Army. Magdala, the capital, was a fortified city perched on the summit of a huge rock with almost perpendicular sides, and approachable on one side only. It was situated four hundred road less miles from the coast in the midst of a great range of mountains, over which the troops had to climb, and in some places had to haul their guns and limbers up by ropes. The 45th marched 300 miles in 24 days and actually covered 70 miles in 4 days over a mountain pass 10,000 feet high to be present at the capture of Magdala.

Louis XVII was the leader of France before Napoleonic Wars and after to 1824, this regiment wiews himas the true leader of the French Empire and hope on getting him restored to power with the help from the Austrians and British and overthrow Napoleon, in the lore 50k Irishmen volunteerd in the name of France

Early real life history of the brigades

The Irish Brigade was a brigade in the French Royal Army composed of Irish exiles, led by Lord Mountcashel. It was formed in May 1690 when five Jacobite regiments were sent from Ireland to France in exchange for a larger force of French infantry who were sent to fight in the Williamite War in Ireland. The regiments comprising the Irish Brigade retained their special status as foreign units in the French Army until nationalised in 1791, With the Treaty of Ryswick in 1697, King James's army in exile was disbanded, though many of its officers and men were reformed into new regiments. Having been merged into the original Irish Brigade these units served the French well until the French Revolution. Other Irishmen – such as Peter Lacy – proceeded to enter the Austrian service on an individual basis, The Irish Brigade became one of the elite units of the French Army. n the interim, however, the Brigade found itself briefly opposed to its Spanish counterpart in the War of the Quadruple Alliance in 1718–20, as France was allied to the Jacobites' British Hanoverian rivals. As a result, it was Spain who assisted the Highland Jacobites in their rising that ended in the Battle of Glen Shiel in 1719, The 1716 Anglo-French alliance had effectively secured the Hanoverian succession in Ireland and Britain.  Despite the alliance France continued to recognize James III as legitimate, and therefore individual Jacobites amongst the Irish regiments in France continued to hope for decades that their cause would eventually succeed. After its early years however the Brigade increasingly became a professional force made up of Irish soldiers who enlisted for reasons of family tradition or in search of opportunities denied them at home, rather than for directly political motives. Irish regiments served in the War of the Austrian Succession, Seven Years' War, both in Europe and India, and during the American War of Independence, though by the 1740s the number of Irishmen serving in the regiments had begun to markedly decline. The five regiments were increased to six during the War of the Austrian Succession, the sixth being Lally's, initially created by the Comte de Lally -Tollendal through drafts from the original five, througthout the wars they made france their home, so for Erin,s sons they make their name in history

Guardsman: another promotion for exsperienced people:8 events or pubstomps
Choosenmans: choosen by officers and high commands
Royal Guards: choosen by the Colonel himself, these men are the best of the best in the regiment
NCO ranks
Corporal: this is the lowest officer rank
Sergeant: handpicked by the Colonel: these men are required to step in and lead whenever the Colonel or High Command cant make it to the events
Lieutenant: leader of detatchments: there can only be 2 per detatchemnt

Recruit Guidebook The individuals of the regiment are constantly cheerful when a new member joins in. We will willingly welcome all those who show interest by joining the regiment. Once joined the regiment, Recruits are expected to show great dedication and motivation towards the regiment as well as improving their melee and shooting in-game. If you are active within 2 weeks, you will be promoted to Private and from there, you will slowly but surely progress through the ranks whilst showing melee skills and discipline. If you, however, encounter a problem within the regiment or your not to sure about something, then do please contact one of the Commanding Officers or a Non-Commissioned Officer as they will always be available at your disposal and would really want to help.

HISTORY - NOTTINGHAMSHIRE, 45TH REGT OF FOOT

Early History The history of The Sherwood Foresters goes back to 1741, when England was committed to War against France in Europe and later in Asia and America. In this year a new Regiment was raised and commanded by a Colonel Houghton. By 1745 the Regiment was in Gibraltar and under the command of a Colonel Warburton, while two years later it was serving in Nova Scotia. In 1751 numerical titles were introduced and the Regiment became the 45th. The aggressive actions of the French against the English in Canada resulted in the 45th being called out on active service. It was one of the regiments that won undying fame in storming and capturing from the French the Naval Arsenal of Louisburg, a stronghold that had been heavily and extensively fortified. The 45th Regiment served for twenty years in Canada, and for its gallantry at Louisburg was later awarded the first of the long roll of battle honours that now adorn the Colours. Although not present as a unit, the 45th was represented by its grenadier company in the British force that the gallant Wolfe led up the St. Lawrence River to capture Quebec and thus seal the doom of French rule in Canada. The Regiment Returns Home On returning home the Regiment served for some years in Ireland and when the American War Of Independence broke out, was among the reinforcements sent to New York in 1776. It fought at Long Island, Philadelphia, Brandywine, Germantown, and in other places, suffering losses but always exhibiting a high degree of courage and fortitude. After the War, the 45th reduced to less than 100 all ranks, returned home to Nottingham. The citizens of Nottingham requested that the Regiment should be called "The Nottinghamshire Regiment" and His Majesty agreed, providing 300 men were recruited in the county. With volunteers from the Nottinghamshire Militia and the influence of local landowners, the stipulated number was soon obtained. Between 1786-1794 and 1795-1802, the 45th was in the West Indies almost constantly engaged in fighting the French for possession of those islands - Martinique, Dominica and Les Saints being captured. Unfortunately yellow fever took a far heavier toll of the Regiment than did the enemy. After a brief period at home the 45th was soon on active service again. The Regiment was despatched to South America in 1807, where it took part in the attack on Buenos Aires, when every man of the small British force had to fight for his life in the street fighting that followed the capture of the town. After this action the Regiment embarked for home.

The Peninsular War The following year the 45th Regiment became part of the Peninsular Army, under Sir Arthur Wellesley, the future Duke of Wellington. The 45th was present at the opening battle, at Rolica in 1808, and served without a break in all Wellington's famous battles until the siege of Toulouse in 1814, winning no less than thirteen battle honours. The nickname, "The Old Stubborns", was bestowed on the regiment for its conspicuous bravery at the battle of Talavera. In that battle the French flung themselves in dense masses upon the advanced posts of the British Army, which were held by the 45th, who opposed the enemy with such firmness and courage that the enemy troops were first checked and then brought to a standstill. Retiring slowly, the 45th held up the enemy attack so completely that the entire sting was taken out of it, and the British were able to win a great victory. Wellington, describing the battle in his official report said: "Upon this occasion the steadiness and discipline of the 45th Regiment were conspicuous". In the Battle of Busaco, the 45th Regiment again distinguished itself leading the attack on a dense column of the enemy troops, which had reached the crest of the hill. The attack, made with the bayonet, was so fierce that the enemy was driven pell-mell down the slopes, leaving some hundreds on the ground killed and wounded. "1 can assure you 1 never witnessed a more gallant charge", wrote Wellington in his despatches. In the siege of Badajoz, a detachment of the 45th succeeded in getting into the Castle first and the red coat of an officer of the 45th was hoisted in place of the French flag to indicate the fall of the Castle. This feat is commemorated on the 6th April each year when red jackets are flown on Regimental flag staffs and at Nottingham Castle. Change in Title The secondary title 'The Sherwood Foresters' was granted to the 45th in 1866 by Queen Victoria; the Nottinghamshire Militia having previously been granted the title of "The Royal Sherwood Foresters" in 1813. In 1867, the 45th formed part of the British force that, under General Sir Robert Napier (afterwards Lord Napier of Magdala), fought in the Abyssinian campaign. This was one of the most remarkable exploits in the history of the British Army. Magdala, the capital, was a fortified city perched on the summit of a huge rock with almost perpendicular sides, and approachable on one side only. It was situated four hundred road less miles from the coast in the midst of a great range of mountains, over which the troops had to climb, and in some places had to haul their guns and limbers up by ropes. The 45th marched 300 miles in 24 days and actually covered 70 miles in 4 days over a mountain pass 10,000 feet high to be present at the capture of Magdala.

To the surprise of absolutely no one, we are back once more to attend some NW events again. Even though we consist of a lot of veterans, the 1stFG is still welcoming new blood to our ranks who seek a friendly community and are willing to improve in the game. The 1stFG is a semi-competitive regiment with a good mix between both casual, fun events and competitive events/tournaments. We are trying to have a relaxed and friendly atmosphere while still keeping an professional attitude.

The Peninsular War 1808-1814 At the beginning of the 19th century, Britain was busy preparing for Napoleon's invasion, but after Trafalgar the government felt confident enough to send a force to occupy Sicily in 1805. This force included the 1st Guards Brigade (1st and 3rd Battalions 1st Guards). But in 1808 there was more important work to be done. The Brigade, part of a 13,000 strong force, was sent to the Peninsula to reinforce Wellesley's army which had successfully driven the French from Portugal. They landed at Corunna and marched inland to join up with Sir John Moore's 20,000. They then moved north to fight Soult's army beyond Valladolid but on Christmas day news arrived that Napoleon himself was leading a superior force to cut them off from their base at Corunna. Moore had no choice but to retreat to Corunna and save the Army. Corunna 1808 The story of the retreat to Corunna is a harrowing one. It was the middle of winter and they had to cross mountainous terrain with little food and tattered clothing. The trek took nearly three weeks and there were successful rearguard actions by the cavalry. The two battalions of Guards arrived at the port, apparently marching in step behind their corps of drums, setting a fine example to the rest of the army and helping to raise morale. A few days later the battle of Corunna started when the French took advantage of the late arrival of the British fleet, and attacked. Soult's men were strongly resisted and eventually retired but not before Moore was fatally wounded on 17th January 1809. Walcheren 1809 The 1st Guards only had a few months to recover from their exertions in Spain. By late summer they were packed off on the ill-fated expedition to the Dutch island of Walcheren with the objective of capturing Antwerp. The attack failed and the whole army was struck down with a terrible fever. The expedition was abandoned and they returned home. Barrosa 1811 The 1st Guards returned to Spain in 1810 where they found themselves besieged in Cadiz. The composite brigade was commanded by Major-General Dilkes of the 3rd Guards. There were 6 companies of the 2nd Battalion and 3 companies each from the other two Guards regiments. On the 5th March 1811 they, with some Spanish troops, were sent up the coast to attack Victor's army. They were separated from the Spanish so had to fight two French Divisions alone. They had just completed a 15 hour march but managed to defeat a force of cavalry and infantry from a strong defensive position. The attack was headed by the 1st Guards and cost them a third of their number after an hour and a half of bitter fighting. When the two year siege of Cadiz was lifted the Brigade made their way to join a further influx of Guards who were wintering at Cuidad Rodrigo. They were the 1st Battalion of the 1st Guards. Wellesley, now the Duke of Wellington was in command of the army and formed two Guards Brigades: 1st Brigade under Maj-Gen Howard of the Coldstream Guards to consist of 1st and 3rd Battalion 1st Guards and the composite battalion of Coldstream and 3rd Guards. 2nd Brigade under Maj-Gen the Hon E Stopford of the 3rd Guards, to consist of the 1st Battalions of the Coldstream and 3rd Guards. The army moved north to drive the French from Spain. There was a 3 month delay while they besieged San Sebastian.

Waterloo 1815 Napoleon's last hundred days brought about the most famous battle in European history. When he escaped from Elba on 26th February and entered Paris on 20th March, he was able to raise an army of 123,000. Wellington had to work fast to raise enough seasoned troops to stop him but he was disappointed with the men available. There were not enough 1st battalions from the infantry regiments. His final tally of 106,000 was made up of Belgian, Dutch and German allies as well as the British troops. The British infantry that fought at Waterloo numbered 17,000. Of these, 3,836 were Foot Guards. The Guards were organised in two brigades in the 1st Division. The 1st Brigade was made up of the 2nd and 3rd Battalions of the 1st Guards, and the 2nd Brigade consisted of Coldstreamers and Scots Guards. Major-General Peregrine Maitland commanded the 1st Guards Brigade whose strength was: 2/1st Guards, 29 officers and 752 men, and 3/1st Guards, 29 officers and 818 men. Each battalion had about 40 sergeants and 20 drummers. Quatre Bras, 16th June It was on the evening of the Duchess of Richmond's ball, 15th June, that Wellington discovered that Napoleon had 'humbugged' him. The army had to be mobilised that night so nobody had much sleep. The Guards were camped at Enghien and received the order at 0130 hrs. They marched out at 0400 and were force-marched all day in hot weather. At 1700hrs, as the 1st Guards arrived at Quatre Bras they were thrown in to the battle and drove the French back out of a thick wood. They suffered heavy casualties. The two 1st Guards battalions lost 3 officers, killed and 43 other ranks. Wounded: 10 officers and 491 other ranks. 17th June The allies retained control of Quatre Bras but Blucher's Prussians had been hit hard at Ligny and forced to withdraw. The following day was spent withdrawing to Mont St Jean. There was a cavalry battle at Genappe but the Foot Guards were not involved. The heavy rain started at midday and continued through the night. The Light Companies of both Guards Brigades, under Lord Saltoun, were ordered to secure the Chateau of Hougoumont while the rest of the Guards took up positions behind Hougoumont.

Battle of Waterloo 18th June The actual battle of Waterloo was fought between 72,000 of Napoleon's French troops and 68,000 allied troops under Wellington. Blucher's Prussian army did not arrive until it was almost all over. Hougoumont Lord Saltoun commanded the two Light Companies of the 1st Guards who were ordered to hold the garden and orchard of the chateau while the other two Light Companies of the Coldstream and Scots Guards were commanded by Lt-Col James Macdonnell, responsible for the buildings. The night had been spent by all of these men busily fortifying the buildings ready for an attack early on the 18th. But Napoleon delayed his advance on the allies so the first attack did not happen until 1100 hrs. The 1st Guards held the orchard but the brunt of the attack was taken by the Coldstream and Scots Guards who fought with great heroism all afternoon. The Imperial Guard The Guards were again in the thick of the battle at the climactic confrontation with the famed Grenadiers of Napoleon's Imperial Guard. Marshal Ney led the assault which began with a French artillery barrage. Wellington ordered his men to lie down on the reverse slope to reduce casualties. Some of the 1st Guards even managed to snatch some sleep as the shot whistled overhead. At 1930hrs the advance began. There were 6,000 Grenadiers, seasoned veterans, moving in two massive columns on a frontage of 70 men shoulder to shoulder. One column was heading towards the 1st Guards who numbered around 1,000. They lay out of sight but could hear the sound of thousands of marching feet and roars of 'Vive l'Empereur'. When they were 40 paces away, Wellington shouted 'Now Maitland. Now's your time!' When the Guards sprang to their feet they were in four ranks. The front rank opened fire, killing 300 Frenchmen. The other ranks repeated this, combined with a barrage of grapeshot from the artillery, the Imperial Guard wavered and tried to fall back. Then Lord Saltoun led a charge of the 1st Guards which routed their French counterparts. The 'invincible' Imperial Guard was routed. The cry went up throughout the French army that the Guard were retreating. The whole of the British force swept forward and drove the enemy back across the valley and up the opposite slope. Cavalry and infantry, tired as they were pursued them off the field of battle. Even the weary Guards from Hougoumont joined in. The casualty figures for the 1st Guards Brigade on the 18th June were, 4 officers and 131 other ranks killed, 11 officers and 346 other ranks wounded.

His most Britannic Majesty's 45th Regiment of foot was raised on the 26th March 2016 by Vegetarian. It is a semi-serious competitive regiment that is English speaking and accepts all nationalities, Recruits have to attend one Line-battle and one training before becoming an official member of the regiment, so that you show you are dedicated enough to be active. The history of this regiment is as twisted and long as an olive branch with our first Colonel Vegetarian forming the regiment in 2016. The regiment changed hands multiple times until in 2017, Nova seized control of the regiment including both companies with the help of notable officers and NCOs, namely Flibbit, Maskman and Flasheart in a blood coup resulting in the disbandment of the Light Infantry. With the formation and dissolution of several companies such as cavalry and artillery, a successful merge with Mitchell's 10th in 2020 has guaranteed the 45th Nottinghamshire a place in the top five largest and best casual competitive regiments within the NW scene. Ever since, for three years straight the regiment has stayed a steady course towards great internal glory slowly becoming the power house it is today, a regiment with three separate companies hosting daily events being able to field a total 50-60 players at any given point.

The 45th Nottinghamshire is lead by Colonel Nova and boasts three detachments each with their own events which Nova oversees and leads. The 45th Nottinghamshire is well-rooted both in the casual and competitive scenes with the regiment hosting its own successful Thursday event as well as preforming very well in many regimental tournaments and leagues such as RGL, GLBT, RMT and Kincaids 2v2. The Regiment can be broken up into three separate detachments, The Centre Company is lead by Major Maskman and Lieutenant Mitchell. The Lights company is lead by Lieutenant Jack and finally the Grenadier company (Grens) lead by Ensign Jerome. For tournament and group fight matches only the very best from each company will be selected for attendance, the Grenadiers making up the backbone of the roster for competitive events.The regiment boasts an experienced cadre of NCOs who are invaluable in keeping good order in the line, such as Company Sergeant Major Valley and Lefty (Grens and Lights), Colour Serjeant Floris and Natty (Grens and Line), as well as many other junior NCOs often leading their respective companies on the ground whilst the officers and Battalion staff, tend to the regiment's administrative work. Our Goals in Napoleonic Wars The 45thN will mainly focus on participating in weekly-based line battles and sieges. The Regiment will mainly focus on improving their shooting and melee to compete in future 1v1s and 2v2s against other regiments. The 45thN is a very competitive regiment. We came 2nd in the 2nd division of GLBT. We do very often groupfighting events as well as tournaments. Trainings will also be organized throughout the week to get our members to their peak performance in the game. On the other hand, we will be jumping onto public servers to have a laugh and to enjoy ourselves, We want to accomplish in Napoleonic Wars to become a fun mature regiment to keep the entertainment at its highest peak! The 45th Regiment served for twenty years in Canada, and for its gallantry at Louisburg was later awarded the first of the long roll of battle honours that now adorn the Colours. Although not present as a unit, the 45th was represented by its grenadier company in the British force that the gallant Wolfe led up the St. Lawrence River to capture Quebec and thus seal the doom of French rule in Canada. The Regiment Returns Home On returning home the Regiment served for some years in Ireland and when the American War Of Independence broke out, was among the reinforcements sent to New York in 1776. It fought at Long Island, Philadelphia, Brandywine, Germantown, and in other places, suffering losses but always exhibiting a high degree of courage and fortitude. After the War, the 45th reduced to less than 100 all ranks, returned home to Nottingham. The citizens of Nottingham requested that the Regiment should be called "The Nottinghamshire Regiment" and His Majesty agreed, providing 300 men were recruited in the county. With volunteers from the Nottinghamshire Militia and the influence of local landowners, the stipulated number was soon obtained. Between 1786-1794 and 1795-1802, the 45th was in the West Indies almost constantly engaged in fighting the French for possession of those islands - Martinique, Dominica and Les Saints being captured. Unfortunately yellow fever took a far heavier toll of the Regiment than did the enemy. After a brief period at home the 45th was soon on active service again. The Regiment was despatched to South America in 1807, where it took part in the attack on Buenos Aires, when every man of the small British force had to fight for his life in the street fighting that followed the capture of the town. After this action the Regiment embarked for home.

The Peninsular War The following year the 45th Regiment became part of the Peninsular Army, under Sir Arthur Wellesley, the future Duke of Wellington. The 45th was present at the opening battle, at Rolica in 1808, and served without a break in all Wellington's famous battles until the siege of Toulouse in 1814, winning no less than thirteen battle honours. The nickname, "The Old Stubborns", was bestowed on the regiment for its conspicuous bravery at the battle of Talavera. In that battle the French flung themselves in dense masses upon the advanced posts of the British Army, which were held by the 45th, who opposed the enemy with such firmness and courage that the enemy troops were first checked and then brought to a standstill. Retiring slowly, the 45th held up the enemy attack so completely that the entire sting was taken out of it, and the British were able to win a great victory. Wellington, describing the battle in his official report said: "Upon this occasion the steadiness and discipline of the 45th Regiment were conspicuous". In the Battle of Busaco, the 45th Regiment again distinguished itself leading the attack on a dense column of the enemy troops, which had reached the crest of the hill. The attack, made with the bayonet, was so fierce that the enemy was driven pell-mell down the slopes, leaving some hundreds on the ground killed and wounded. "1 can assure you 1 never witnessed a more gallant charge", wrote Wellington in his despatches. In the siege of Badajoz, a detachment of the 45th succeeded in getting into the Castle first and the red coat of an officer of the 45th was hoisted in place of the French flag to indicate the fall of the Castle. This feat is commemorated on the 6th April each year when red jackets are flown on Regimental flag staffs and at Nottingham Castle. Change in Title The secondary title 'The Sherwood Foresters' was granted to the 45th in 1866 by Queen Victoria; the Nottinghamshire Militia having previously been granted the title of "The Royal Sherwood Foresters" in 1813. In 1867, the 45th formed part of the British force that, under General Sir Robert Napier (afterwards Lord Napier of Magdala), fought in the Abyssinian campaign. This was one of the most remarkable exploits in the history of the British Army. Magdala, the capital, was a fortified city perched on the summit of a huge rock with almost perpendicular sides, and approachable on one side only. It was situated four hundred road less miles from the coast in the midst of a great range of mountains, over which the troops had to climb, and in some places had to haul their guns and limbers up by ropes. The 45th marched 300 miles in 24 days and actually covered 70 miles in 4 days over a mountain pass 10,000 feet high to be present at the capture of Magdala.
