What are line troops even doing joining a skirmish line? Go fall in with another line, where you can actually be useful and not hinder your light infantry with worrying what you're doing.

To classify Texas as a nation that is different from the US is somewhat laughable considering pretty much its entire Republican government, including all its presidents and fifty-seven of the sixty signers of its declaration of independence were Americans.

The United States is easily made up of several nations, both culturally and ethnically. The only thing we share collectively is a language, and barely at that.

Yeah because I said military doesn't needs logistics right?

Going on about how logistical units aren't really in the military would imply so, yes. At the very least, it suggests a general disdain for those people who ensure your military can actually fight when the time comes.

And yes best military is full of psychopaths that love killing, nothing more effective on the battlefield than that.

Sounds like a great way to end up sitting before an international court after your 'army' starts murdering civilians because they're bored.

The only acceptable outcome.

I'm struggling to understand what Big Pete's ideal military would be. Other than apparently full of psychopaths and no logistics support.

You were indeed not defending it; my inclusion of the entire development team in that condemnation was poorly considered.

Assuming you're asking about the reload animation, rather than the game in general, it's in the handling of the ramrod. When reversing the ramrod in accordance with the drill manuals (Literally every drill manual, dating back to at least the French Napoleonic drill), as well as in accordance with common sense, you reverse the ramrod by simply turning the hand that withdrew it from the gun. In War of Rights, you do so by transferring the ramrod from your right to your left hand, then back.

Simply put, they added more steps into the process, and if you attempted to reload the way the game portrays in real life under fire, you would drop your ramrod. Multiple times.

They and their community then attempted to defend the choice by stating that troops would disregard the drill manual and willingly introduce complexity into their manual of arms.
It might have been amusing if it hadn't been so Goddamn frustrating. Be forewarned, the thread here has the usual War of Rights community condescension in all its glory.

General Discussion / Re: Holdfast Look Alike?

The idea is and has been pretty simple; So long as the 69th New York exists and remains active within the community, no one else has any right to the name.

I don't know that any brigade or similar organization has ever just assumed they have the right to claim any and all historically subordinate units.

Couldn't the hypothetical Union Irish Brigade simply exist, so long as they don't form a 69th New York? It would seem to me that the precedent is fairly well established that forming a unit that has already been reserved is a no-go, and making it double bad doesn't seem to have any benefits beyond potentially creating more issues should someone decide to be petty.

Edit: Also, there is the concern about units wishing to form larger groups, such as the Army of the Potomac, ANV, etc. where forming would entail contacting dozens or hundreds of groups, any one of which could nix the whole thing.

No. Poofy trousers have no place on a battlefield whatsoever.

Other Games / Re: Fallout 4

In case of all-out nuclear war probably the most realistic scenario though.

The problem is that previous games (Including Fallout 3) have established that people survived outside the vaults, and began rebuilding pretty much immediately (To little apparent effect in the East)
