Difference in Spawns?
« on: October 28, 2020, 04:03:38 am »
So, I've been doing mapping for a long time, but only recently really started caring about something.  That something is spawns.  I have a custom map, which during battles and sieges I want certain spawns, but during others I don't want those spawns.  For instance, in a TDM spawns all around the map, but for a battle I want the spawns in just 2 spots..

Any help on this is welcome!

For battle only entry points 0 and 32 are used and for seige, for native at least, it's the 32 closest spawns to both flags that are used or something dumb like that

So let’s just ignore someone like Maskman who knows next to nothing about leading and the capabilities of regiments performing well in a linebattle type of event.
To state that anyone on a “good day could beat the 77y/15thYR” is just a meme of its own, if that was the case why don't you beat the 77y or 15thYR then!?

So pretty much a custom map can only be 1 gamemode?  That's what I'm hearing here.  Which doesn't make sense since for instance Hougoumont can be TDM/DM, Battle, and Siege

Nope, a map can be any number of modes, but if you are careful with how you position spawns you can make them more versatile for other modes. Most vanilla maps are designed to be both battle and death match because battle only needs two points. If you are more careful yet you can also make a map conquest too, or even siege.

Ah ha!  I thought you literally had to place down every-single point, but if I need two, I can do more..  Ok, that makes sense.. thanks
