Hey guys JollyCanadian here! I'm the most corrupt person in NW comp, always trying to control things and since I didn't get drafted I forced James to pick me up before playoffs  8). You beta cucks couldn't do that but with fse powers I control the NA community, step aside Xethos your god is here  ;D

And so begins the dawn of the next age in competitive NW, the Public-Server-Administrator-As-AFK-Bench-Player phase.

Going back to the topic -- I would personally enjoy a Cav thing. I could possibly talk to Xethos about using the HMs server for it. The only problem with that is most of the events use the HMs server already so there would definitely be scheduling constraints.

This would not be an issue. I can run as many instances of NW servers as I want, and the limiting factor for performance (beside Warband's amazing networking) is the number of cores on the box.

That said, I don't imagine you would want to schedule this sort of thing during an event that your target audience is already going to.

Thats not how it works the animations aren't client sided anyways and if youll remember unblockable worked by having you throw a side attack but even on the client side screen it was still a normal attack. Also the animation cancelling/glitch shows up on both sides so you can't block without it showing up on the other person's screen.

Animations are client side. That's why the NW enhancement mod and the like are able to work. Your animations do not have to line up with the server's. The server will send your client a packet telling it that there is an animation in progress and it's up to your internet and client to process that packet.

There is a problem in Warband with animation desync. This has been the case for a long time. A lot of people over the years have experienced standing there holding an up or down block, then being told that everybody else in the server saw them holding a sideblock. I get the same bug with attack directions, mostly when I'm playing cav. I believe it has to do with packet loss and changing attack/block directions quickly, but it's purely conjecture. I get it most often on cav, when I'm flinging my mouse around to look for enemies and then quickly try to grab an attack direction.

Taleworlds even is/was aware of the problem. There is a built in delay between when your client registers you have clicked and when the packet gets sent to the server. They increased it in the January 2018 patch. That was their attempt to resolve it. It didn't work, and really didn't accomplish anything other than making melee feel garbage and getting people to shit on the actually positive melee changes that FSE made. You can see this discussion about the change here. Keep in mind that, although FSE reverted all of the changes on their end, the change in question was a Taleworlds thing in the Warband .exe, and to my knowledge, was not fixed.

Without making this a rant on how Taleworlds ruined NW, wrong blocks have been appearing in the game for a very long time. The fact that you're seeing it is more likely proof of Warband's awful networking than it is of cheating, unless you're seeing it reliably and consistently.

Sounds like analysis for the Mess Hall.

fse mods seem to think otherwise (Jolly).

Jolly is not an FSE mod. He has board moderator here as a result of his community representative role.

The lesson is, always get it in writing.

Both threads are going to stay unlocked for now. Up to the captains and teams to decide which host they would rather play under.
Don't think the league can survive a split off imo

The community is going to have to figure it out. It strikes me it's mainly a server and an admin decision, because the same leaderboard is getting used either way.

Regardless, the host of a tournament is ultimately a community decision. If the community doesn't like a host, they don't sign up for the tournament (as we saw in a recent 1v1 league).

As far as I'm concerned, the less interference from moderatoring in producing the outcome, the better. I doubt the end result will be an irreconciable split.

For everybody else, let's start keeping the thread on topic.

I never changed the admin password and only three people used the admin pass to get on mid-event, so it couldn't have been more than 202, 203 at any given time.
