The Conquest event will be held at 8:00 PM EST on Sundays, with coordination being hosted 30 minutes prior in the Free Company discord, this is subject to change. Each regiment is expected to send someone to put their numbers into the sheet, and declare any skirmishers/artillery they will be bringing for balance.
The primary objective of the Conquest event is to simulate the breakdown of traditional line combat by allowing for a more fluid and decentralized method of combat, focusing on rapid movement, the use of cover and concealment, and tactical spacing. While units will still be cohesive fighting forces that stick together while in combat, it is important to note that line-to-line combat is not a requirement, and utilizing defilades, rocks, trees, and buildings for cover could spell the difference between victory and defeat.
Units will still work in groups, and will fight over strategic objectives with a limited number of lives in the Conquest gamemode.
The ruleset is designed to be as open-ended as possible to ensure that the event can adapt to later requests. The rules are not rigid or set in stone, and if there is a general consensus that things need to be added or removed, the rules will change.
