Introduction

The 33rd Volunteer Infantry Regiment is proud to Host our New Tuesday Event, taking place every week from 19:00 lasting until 20:00 (UK time).
This being the only event we currently host in Battle Cry of Freedom, our intention is to offer a wide spread of formats and gamemodes, so ourselves
and the attendees can expect something different week on week.

Please note that we currently host one event per month in the American Civil War time period, with the majority of events being based in the Napoleonic Wars Period (AoN).

Rules & Format

The following Rules are in force for each class with the exception of those stated in the Game modes/formats.
We will use any two of the below Game modes/Formats per event, spending 20-30mins on each. Some of these
do not include all specials, in which case those class occupants may need to fall into Line for that part of the event.

Skirmishers
5-8

Max 1 officer & Serjeant
5 man spacing & may Crouch
Join another unit when 3 or less
No FiC or RiC

Line
10-30

Max 1 officer & Serjeant
Shoulder to shoulder & Standing
Half-man spacing or front rank crouching when in double rank
Join another unit when 3 or less
No FiC or RiC

Artillery
5-8

1 Artillery piece
Max 1 officer & Serjeant
5 man spacing when defending the piece
Any distribution of guards & crew
No FiC or RiC

Conquest
Line, Skirmishers, Artillery

Using custom maps without enterable buildings with no spawning on central flags or forward spawns.

Only spawn on Home flag
One sapper permitted per unit
Move out from Spawn in formations of 5+

Battle
Line, Skirmishers, Artillery

Medium to small maps used for short and intense battle rounds, all-charge called no later than 52:00. Artillery may not be available on small maps. 80% Shooting damage to encourage close encounters.

No rule differences.

Scenario
Scenario dependant

Variety of different scenarios based on immersion. May involve bots in various ways to either give the disadvantaged team greater numbers or for all the players to fend off against in a bot survival type scenario.

Rules very much scenario dependant
To be determined when a round is played

Historical
Line

Any of the adjacent Game modes may be ran with a historical spin, other specials may be involved but generally this will involve Lines only, similarly the rule changes only affect lines.

Lines must form 2 ranks when 8+

Whilst the details for this event will be confirmed post-release, we are hosting a couple of NW style events over the course of the demo week:

Tuesday 22nd (19:30GMT - 20:30GMT)
Thursday 24th (19:30GMT - 20:30GMT)

These will be NW style line-only events on our server, general rules as follows; no Fire/Reload in charge or out of Line, all participants are aiming to get 20 guys on. Rounds will be kept short with swift all-charges, depending on the size of the event we're hoping to get 6-8 rounds in over the hour. Maps will be 200x200 or 450x450, again depending on numbers to keep the action as close quarters as possible.

Just pm me on here or steam if you fancy coming to either of these - hopefully it will give participating regiments at least a token representation of what playing events may feel like and a proper chance at some melee aswell.

After almost 2 months of running this event we have refined the opening post to better demonstrate what the event offers participants; Siege has been removed by popular opinion since it is so close to the experience of public server gameplay. This has been replaced with a 'Scenario' format which we have showcased in past events with both a big line on line and ambush scenarios, both of which were well received, short duration and broke up each half of their respective events nicely. We are currently not running the 'Historical' format whereby specials are limited and double rank enforced for a few rounds, due to the current population of each regiment not truly being viable to embrace such a rule.

Any questions about the event just ask and we'll see you on the next one!
