EGS | Season 4 League 2 Tournament #3 | 5v5 | 04.12
« on: October 14, 2022, 12:05:06 pm »

Welcome to the third tournament of EGS Season 4 hosted by Voluble & DarkTemplar & Chainsor. This season we return with a similar admin team with new ambitious additions to continue making EGS the best series ever. The format stays the same for the highly successful league 2, only difference this season has is there is no loans available during 5v5s and League 1 has a different format. Same old EGS, same old consistency and media coverage expected!
The tournament will be hosted on Sunday the 4th December at 20:00GMT. There will be a transfer ban for this tournament. The tournament will be played in the standard 5v5 format. Teams will have to fight their way through a groupstage in order to claim victory.

Every team must read the following rules as they are very important and EGS rules are different compared to normal tournaments.
We were kind of disappointed by seeing that even some captains didn't even read the rules. Please, read it all.

Roster Rules
- Rosters are capped at 9 people as you are aware.
- Players MUST sign up with their community names ONLY. No roleplay names allowed.
- Must also use community faces rather than randomized ones OR you face punishment (refer to EGS Rules)
- Transfer deadline is set at 5pm (17:00 GMT) the day before every tournament . After that, not a SINGLE change will be allowed.
[close]
General Rules
- Melee speed will be set on medium.
- The only class allowed is the line infantry.
- You aren't allowed to spawn if you are not playing.
- All matches will be ft5, apart from the Quarter and Semi-Finals (Ft7) and the Final (Ft10).
- A good behaviour is expected. Insulting/toxicity will lead to 1 warning then a suspension from matches.
- Cheating once will result in a permanent ban of any future EGS tournaments.
- ID MUST be provided, if not, players with ID's missing won't be allowed to play. It can result in a temporary ban or even more.
[close]

Match Rules
- Once a match has been called, each team has ~5 minutes to get ready.
- If the first round is not started within ~5 minutes, the responsible team will be punished, as 1 round will be awarded to their opponents.

- After each round, each team has ~1 minutes before they must have typed 'r' again.
- If the next round is not started within ~1 minutes, the responsible team will be punished, as 1 round will be awarded to their opponents.

-The rules above are controlled by the referee - if the referee says ~5 or ~1 minutes is up, then the time is up.

-If there is clear delaying in a duel at the end of a round after 2 minutes then a warning to the fight will be given. If the player continues to delay or run from the duel then the admin can slay the player.

-In any case of a server crash/map change if it is to happen, then all current rounds WILL be VOIDED.

Introduction

Spoiler
I welcome all readers and others who are interested in our tournament. This Sunday we are in for a life-and-death struggle, as League Two, as sad as it may sound, is slowly approaching to its final. It will be decided today who will get to the playoffs of the fourth season and who will be worthy to fight for the title of champion in this series of tournaments EGS. I remind our readers that only the best eight teams will be able to compete for the League Two Champions' trophy and they will qualify for the final round of the tournament - the playoffs, while the rest, alas, will have to leave the tournament.
Today, the teams will play in a format already familiar to them - 5 on 5, which will show both the strengths and weaknesses of teams, today we will see and find out how the teams have prepared for the tournament and who will pass to the final, the last phase. Well, let's get started!

Prediction

Spoiler
Before we start our predictions for tonight's tournament, we should take a look at the roster changes during this two-week transfer window. This week we have the following replacements .
It is worth mentioning that Axuss, one of the key players of our team SubV has left. The player has been replaced by Egg. This substitution will play a big part in today's single ticket race called "Finals".
It is also worth mentioning that the second-placed team in the last tournament, the Diggers, has been enlarged. They have prepared a replacement for today's tournament 5 vs 5 in the form of Hecke instead of Zenepl. This replacement strengthens the already strong line-up of "dark horses" from the last tournament 6 vs 6. Let's see how they do today.
Chackiy for Seven Sins. This is the third transfer for this team this season. Vexis, Stanlox, Madara and other players have already played for the team but no one has been able to bring any positive result to the team. Today we will see if Chackiy will be able to get the last place in the finals for his team.
But not Chackiy alone. The strongest reinforcement is the return of the Finnish beast, Ase, for Kungliga Svenska Armen. Which will undoubtedly have an impact on the team's results and their overall game as a whole.
The last transfer of this transfer window is the replacement for GoJp: Stex , from the Russian team Lycoris - to GoJp , instead of Fluffy . The loss of Fluffy will play a big part in today's tournament, or give Stex a chance to prove his mettle. We'll see today.
But the transfers aren't the only ones that may surprise us. Today's tournament will feature a new team - Arabia with Fred2 at the helm.

Based on the results of the last tournament, and the aforementioned transfers, I would recommend to pay attention to GoJp, together with Stex, and Diggers, together with Hecke. These two teams will put on a really good and entertaining performance and will show the rest of the participants what they are capable of.
Teams: GoJp , Diggers , Jordan , Impact - will be the unconditional favorites of the tournament and will fight for first place.
In their turn: 7-Sins, Lycoris, SubV and Nr.59 are likely to get out of the group, but will drop out of the tournament in the first round or semi-finals.
All other teams will probably not even make it out of their groups. Including the newcomers Arabia.

Players to watch out for

Spoiler
I would advise you to follow the latest transfers of the teams, because it is on these players that the teams put "Va-Bank" in order to fight for reaching the final.
I would be careful with: Ase, Stex, and Chackiy, and other top players from other teams, namely Tardet, pro100pro, Lvov, Lama, Vegi, Rikimaru, Yovko, Faser, Anubis and others.
Good luck everyone! May the strongest win.

Congratulations to Guardians of Japan on winning the last regular tournament! Impact got 2nd and Diggers 3rd.
Thanks to Ruler for helping out as an admin and referee yesterday.

Tables will be updated soon so everyone knows who has to show up to the playoffs tournament in 2 weeks! :)
