French Revolutionary Army Mod (P&R Version)

The French Revolutionary Army Mod

The French Revolutionary Army was an answer to France's declaration of war on Austria and Prussia. The army consisted of mostly untrained but enthusiastic volunteers. Due to how desperate the situation was for France, these men were quickly inducted into the army. Their was no regulation uniform until the Egyptian campaign, but even then most of the men wore different types of hats, pants, coats, etc. Many of the officers of the old royalist army left their regiments during the overthrowing of the monarchy while those who remained were either executed or imprisoned during the Reign of Terror. This leads to there being more younger officers in the army than older ones. Cavalry Regiments under republican France was the most affected by the revolution. With almost all the nobles now gone, so does the noble cavalry. The french artillery remained undisturbed by the recent events, and has grown into both a respected and feared force. The French Revolutionary War would span from the fields of Valmy to the ancient sands of Egypt. While this happens, supporters of the ol regime rebel against the Republic and begin a civil war throughout France. What side do you support? The Austrians and Brits who wish to stop the french from potentially destroying the balance in Europe, the Royalist who wish to destroy the new regime and put the monarchy back to France, or the Revolutionaries who stride to protect France and see it become a great nation.

This mod replaces units for United Kingdom, France, Prussia, and Austria to reflect the 1790s. Sadly this mod isn't as historically accurate as most would expect, please do understand that.

The Enemies of France

The Austrian Monarchy during the 1790s felt threatened by France's removal of the old regime and establishing a republic. They decided to ally with Prussia and other nations to attempt to restore the old monarchy. This treaty makes France declare war on Austria and Prussia, thus causing the first war for Republican France. This and the execution of Louis provokes other nations like Great Britain, Holland, and Spain to join Austria and Prussia to form the 1st Coalition. The war spans from 1792 to 1797 with France winning the war with the treaty of  Campo Formio, with Britain only remaining in the now lost war.

Did you make those hat models yourself? or did you just find and retextured some already in the game?
