don't worry there are plenty of units that will be there, and that you will be able to find one.

As Munk said, there are plently of unit that dont give a flying whoop about "permits".  Cuz you know, america dont do permit. We just abide state law, and as of in reenacting, we abide the Company rules. As my company dont require paperwork of such. But we limit to 16 years old and older to be able to fire.

Surely you will find other unit like that. Especially in the Confederates, i know some units like it when young fellahs get into the hobby. Accurate portrayal of the desperate measure of the Confederate force in late war.

Deo summed it up nicely.  "permit" what "permt" I never had to sign anything.

And yet you people still wonder why you have so many shoot-outs...

so the 4th Texas [...] has decided to not let me join their ranks at Cedar Creek... For reasons that i have no idea about.

Did they not state a single reason? That is pretty odd.

We do? Never heard a single shot fired in anger my entire life.

You can easily find another Confederate unit to fall in with. You could even walk on and just ask someone in person if your luck runs out. My unit's had people just walk up and say, "Can I fall out with you during the battle?" or "Mind if I set up camp here?" and we've always said yes.

it was because of insurance reasons apparently. their insurance company wont cover someone under 16.

on site? Like what? is he a reenactor or is it just your family members walking around?

Because i went through the process of that in earlier day of civil war reenacting. My dad had to stick around the premise, it get boring for him since your out there all day. But bless my dad, always supportive.  But because my dad isnt a reenactor, he doesnt stay around at night which why i cant camp until i was 18.

my dad wont be there but i will have a guardian who is on site and who is a re-enactor, but he will be in the Union encampment, I will be in the Confederate encampment.

as for the insurance, I have contacted the ALHF (Australian Living History Federation), as I am insured by them, seeing if they will insure me over in the States. if they will, then i should be allowed to join in with the 4th Texas.

But i sort of want to do a Virginia impression  :'(

Actually by mid-late war. There is no uniform difference between Virginian and Texans.   Georgia Frame Buckle or Roller buckle it was, richmond type 2 jacket or communition jacket. If it was early war, the difference probably that Virginians would had a Virginian state buckle.
