Hello everyone, and welcome to the Cavalry 2v2 tournament. DeLaBedoyère and I thought it was a good idea to host a very short tournament, in order to keep some activity within the community before the Hussar Cup. As written in the title, this will be a 2v2 tournament. As we wanted to keep it short, we decided to make (or at least try to make) a one-night tournament. That being said, the tournament will be another source of information Skittles will use for the Fantasy League to come. This is why the only playable class shall remain hussars. We won’t come back on that, so please spare our thread with endless debates about it!
This is the very first tournament we host. We tried to make the rules/format as classic as possible, to make the tournament as successful as possible, and to achieve finishing the tournament in one night. If you have any remarks/advices on how the tournament will be played/organized, don’t hesitate to contact DeLaBedoyère or me. We also insist that for the organization’s sake, we need referees. Don’t be shy, and apply!
The number of slots is NOT defined, everyone is welcome to create a team and participate. We will adapt and define the number of the group stages (with the number of teams inside). Let’s all have a pleasant moment of cavalry all together!
-We reserve us the right to change the rules before the tournament starts, if necessary.
- The tournament starts on the 23rd of January, at 8:30pm CET (7:30pm GMT). The register time ends on the 22th of January.
- The tournament is supposed to last just one night. We shall make everything possible so that it gets respected. We expect a general serious attitude from every player, so that the time before and after matches gets minimized as much as possible. The objective is to make play simultaneously as many matches as possible.
- If we fail to make the tournament last within the night, we will make play the matches left the next day, on the 24th, at 8:30pm CET (7:30pm GMT).
- The groups will be allocated on two servers. The server information will be given to you when the groups will be made.
- The number and composition of the groups will be defined once the register time ends, and published on the same day.
- The group matches, round of 16 and the quarter-finals will be played on a Ft5.
- The semi-finals and the final will be played on a Ft7.
- The 2 first teams of each groups will be qualified for the single elimination matches.
- If wins aren’t enough to declare 2 qualified teams, we shall use the difference of rounds.
- There is a cash prize of 30€ for the winner (Thanks to MajorMark and Soartex)
- The only playable class will be Hussars.
- The only playable rank will be ranker.
- Players will be asked to use the tag they used to register in game.
- A challonge will be at your disposal during the tournament.
- Matches and the allocated arena will be announced by the referees.
- If a team fails to show up 5 minutes after the announcement of their match, the opponents get a default win.
- If a team is declared absent, every single opponent they should have faced in their group gets a default win. We invite every team to inform us if you suddenly cannot attend.
- A player has 5 minutes after the announcement of his match to wait for his mate. If he is still alone after 5 minutes, the match will start. The lone player can still forfeit.
- Any team not playing will have to stay in spectators.
- To start a round, both teams have to be ready, and tell it on the chat. We count on the players to not delay too much, even though we allow toilet breaks, ect…
- The referee’s decision will be absolute. He will be allowed to kick a player or give a default win if the rules are not respected. The players will be demanded to not question their decisions, as it might delay the tournament. We count on them on respecting and sticking to the rules. The referees will also be free to warn players if they feel they are delaying.
- In the case we don’t have enough referees, we might give to trustworthy players the ability to referee their own matches.
---------------------------------------
- No insults, no provocations, no trolling, no delay.
- No t-bag, no wall hug.
- No early dismount, unless the opponents are also dismounted.
- Once again, we count on the players’ maturity to respect the rules, make this tournament enjoyable for everyone and make it last in a fair amount of time.
