Looks nice, but from everything I've read, the guidons, or rather the flank markers were carried on poles not inserted in the rifle barrel.

I have one question, I've been away from this forum and game for a while,  I played "that other ACW online FPS" and wonder if BCF will be more user friendly as I'd like to call it, with lower graphical requirements so I don't have to buy a new computer, that other game was soooo slow, yes graphics were good but I'd rather play a smooth, fast and fun ACW game with not the best graphics available. If so then I'm in and will support this game.

We are trying to get the game going on older/worse machines, but tbh. we can not promise wonders. We are dealing with Unity Engine here, which is a bitch to get working right...
That being said, we have not really tested on older machines yet as our machines are usually above average-average. That's why we will need testers soon, so that we can test it more carefully. We are offering the player to change ANY settings that we can expose so hopefully that will help in getting the game both run and look as you personally like it.

Thank you for the quick reply, I don't have an old machine but I was so disappointed with "that other game", the graphical engine was so heavy everything felt like it was in slow motion even with my relatively new machine and on lower settings. Also I love that you're planning out not just one battle but many.

Please Include 8th Wisconsin with old Abe the battle Eagle. Then all my dreams come true ;)

Then add "Old Douglas" the camel of 43rd Mississippi to the list :) , http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_the_camel

May I humbly suggest a straw hat for Confederates and for union officer(?), or are they already in the game? Looks good.

From the Spotsylvania map, will BcF have trench maps like Petersburg and Cold Harbor?

Confederate regular or improvised sharpshooter with a regular enfield. I see myself holding off hordes of Yankees with a band of brave comrades before I'm overwhelmed. I die sacrificing myself and swing my musket in melee against the superior number of unionists surrounding me. Or just plain Confederate infantry :)

Looks good, I know it's still early in development, just a minor detail, Federal soldiers were issued a white shirt to carry underneath, I would like to see it sticking out of the cuffs.

And greatcoats were only carried by some troops,  usually they were handed to the quartermaster and then re-issued in the fall to be used in the winter. It was probably more common, at least in summer to have a rolled up blanket that was on top of the knapsack. The color was usually grey but some regiments used white, hope this can be customized by the player.

nice, here's a pic of a model depicting the Stone House that was meant for an unreleased mod, though missing the bars in the basement windows. I'll see if I can dig it up..Btw shouldn't the Robinson house be white or was it painted after 1st Man? Will there be a Judith Henry House aswell?

Here's one view from our Manassas map taken from Henry Hill if I remember correctly:

Nice! Just one question I did not see addressed anywhere, will corp badges on uniform and cap be an option? At least on maps taking place after corp badges were introduced. And will you be able to have unit identification on backpacks? Not sure how common this was though...

Thats not even remotely close to how Fort Wagner looked like. This is a picture of a model that was WIP. I posted it in the Donators board a few months ago.

This is how it looked like. Kinda. It is wip, so yeah.

Yeah I know, forgot to add that it wasn't accurate! That model of yours is awesome btw, you should make some of the Petersburg forts too, like Ft Mahone or Ft Gregg, that would be awesome.

Another gun, the rare Whitworth breechloader, intended to be used on the Gettysburg map, not sure if the real gun-carriage was painted in green or grey though:

The mod was pretty grim with bodies littered on the field..

There was a Fort/Battery Wagner map for an unrelased mod I worked on a while back, as some may already have seen. I don't have any screens of the map itself, but an image showing the fort model seems to have survived. The tower is not really accurate though, but the map itself was awesome. The Union troops were to charge across the sand dunes against the fort, in the background at sea there were gunboats and ironclads, providing not always accurate support fire for the attacking force. A waterfilled ditch with fraise/abatis, sharpened sticks was placed in front of the walls. Needless to say, this fort would be a tough position to capture! Here's an image of the fort model:

A cannon that would have been used by the fort's defenders:
