General Discussion / Lacking EU player base
« on: March 04, 2022, 07:42:37 pm »
Why is there almost no EU player base at all? Only a handful of players playing on EU commander battle.I'm already in my first hour of playing on NA servers and I actually really like this game. But playing with such a high ping is such a turn off. We need to make a collective effort to market this game in Europe.

Who are we?

The 75th Regiment of Foot was a Scottish Highlander infantry regiment based on the Napoleonic Wars era,
but now we're re-enacting it in the game Mount & Blade: Napoleonic Wars.
We are an active, historicallly accurate, skilled and well-disciplined regiment. We are international, which means that
everyone is welcome to join, so you don't need to be good at the game to join. We will see where you're weak at and our better players will try to make you better at the game.
And our main goal is to experience and enjoy our time together in the regiment.

You get the chance to get to promoted to a higher rank to perform well on and off the field, for being an active, disciplined and perhaps a skilled soldier.
Get the chance to be promoted to an NCO rank, for your skills, drills and leadership.
And get the chance for an officer position in the glorious 75th Regiment of Foot to show your leading skills in internal Linebattle, and keep showing yourself

We are not only Napoleonic Wars players, but also play other games within our community,
to get known to our members.
Enlist now for the 75th and you can expect a mature, respected, disciplined, active, experienced and enjoyable regiment.

In 1787 the East India Company raised troops to meet an expected threat to its territories from France. When that threat failed to materialise, it refused to pay for these troops or for transporting them to India, so they had to be formed into four line infantry regiments in the British Army.

One of these was the 75th (Highland) Regiment of Foot, which was immediately sent to India. There it fought in the Fourth Mysore (1799) and Second Maratha Wars (1803-05), winning the Royal Bengal Tiger on its Colours. The regiment returned to Scotland in 1807 but two years later lost its Highland status and dress.

Its next overseas posting was to Sicily from 1811 to 1814. Nine years on the Ionian Islands and Gibraltar followed, before the regiment returned to Britain in 1823. It then spent 26 years on home service, only interrupted by a year fighting in the Cape Frontier Wars in South Africa in 1834.

In 1849 the regiment returned to India, meaning it was already in theatre on the outbreak of the Indian Mutiny (1857-59). It went on to serve at both Delhi and Lucknow.

In 1862 the regiment regained official recognition of its Scottish connection, when it was made the county regiment for Stirlingshire, on the border between Lowland and Highland Scotland.

The regiment returned to Britain straight after the Mutiny and spent the 1860s and 1870s there and in Ireland, Gibraltar, Hong Kong, Singapore and the Cape Colony. It was back in Britain by 1881, when it merged with the 92nd Regiment of Foot to form The Gordon Highlanders.

History of the regiment
The 45th
The 45th Regiment of Foot was a British Army line infantry regiment. Established in 1741, by 1745 the regiment was in Gibraltar and under the command of a Colonel Warburton, while two years later it was serving in Nova Scotia during Father Le Loutre’s War, the 45th being called out on active service. The regiment participated in the Siege of Louisbourg (1758) and the Battle of the Plains of Abraham. The 45th Regiment served for twenty years in Canada. The regiment also participated in the American Revolution, the Peninsular War, Burmese War, and the Kaffir War. During the Childers Reforms it was united with the 95th (Derbyshire) Regiment of Foot to form The Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment).

***
Service History
The 45th Regiment was raised in 1741 as Houghton's Regiment, for service during the War of the Austrian Succession and Warburton's Regiment during Father Le Loutre's War and the French and Indian War. It was first posted to Gibraltar in 1745, before moving to Nova Scotia in 1747 for garrison duty. In 1758 the regiment fought in the Siege of Louisburg. which became the regiments first battle honour.
From 1774 the regiment was in action in North America during the American War of Independence, fighting in the battles of Long Island, Philadelphia, Brandywine Creek and Germantown. In 1783 they returned home to Nottingham, where the citizens petitioned for the regiment to be named "the Nottinghamshire regiment". This was granted the same year, becoming the 45th (1st Nottinghamshire) Regiment.
The regiment returned to the Americas in 1786, spending the next 16 years, with one break, in the West Indies. During this time they saw action against the French as part of the French Revolutionary Wars, at Martinique, Dominica and Les Saintes.
After an expedition to South America in 1807, fighting at Buenos Aires, the 45th returned to Britain, to take part in Wellington's Peninsular campaign. In this they fought in every major action, winning the nickname "Old Stubborns" at Talavera, and being commended at Busaco and Badajoz.
Following the end of the Napoleonic Wars the Nottinghamshires served in a series of colonial campaigns. In 1819 they were in Ceylon, and in 1824 in the First Burma War. In 1843 they were in South Africa for the First Kaffir War, and in 1851 for the Second. In 1867, now called the 45th Nottinghamshire Regiment (Sherwood Foresters), they took part in the Abyssinian campaign.
In 1881, as part of the Childers Reforms, the 45th was amalgamated with the 95th (Derbyshire) Regiment to form the Sherwood Foresters.
