The partnership with the 32nd Regiment of Foot started about a year ago just a few days after our foundation. Since then there has been a practice battle almost every week to develop and test different strategies, but at the same time to strengthen the teamwork and to further improve the individual strength of the individual hussars, in addition to the training sessions. Even though it turned out early that the balance of power was unbalanced with the same number of men, it was always an honorable and funny round of time. Due to the fact that the 32nd had no competitive hussar fighting experience, we initially won many of the battles with a very high result. Nonetheless, the 32nd turned up every week with growing numbers of men, so that they were sometimes twice as many. There were also soldiers from the other battalions of the 32nd Regiment of Foot and we (and hopefully also with the 32nd) quickly developed into a highlight of the week, where we were able to relax and enjoy the time with the 32nd. We also always watched the 32nd games in the CCL, in which they participated, with a good number of men. Due to the permanent training sessions with us, the 32nd both developed a very good skill value, but they also gained experience. They also seemed to have helped in their games in the league, after all they managed to silence the critics and, contrary to the predictions of many, were not the last, we congratulate you again, of course, you deserve that !!!"You can discover more about a person [or group] in an hour of play than in a year of conversation."- Plato
Throughout the year friendships developed between the individual players and officers. Through a game that you play together, you get to know each other better than you could ever do through conversation. And the best thing about playing together and enjoying the game is the fact that it doesn't matter where the people come from, how they look or how they dress. And we celebrated that friendship on March 26th with games, the re-enactment of historical moments and a closing ceremony. We are thrilled to have met you, the 32nd regiment of foot. But this is not the end! It was an absolute pleasure playing with you lads in the NWBC S4 last year, and even though we only won 3rd place - its always the memories, the battles fought and the people met that make the experience all that much sweeter.
I really don't know much about the 1er and despite us only fighting along side each other for a short amount of time, I must say it was an absolute pleasure not only working with you - Bedo, Saphyro and Soartex but also each match won or lost the 1er conducted themselves graciously in victory and respectfully in defeat - only coming back stronger the next match :P
It is a shame that we are losing yet another top tier staple regiment within the cavalry community with whom the 45thN shared a special relationship but alas all good things must come to an end. Best of luck to all the 1er lads moving on whether they continue playing actively or stepping away from the community altogether, and may the 1er act as future example of an exemplar quality competitive cavalry regiment :)
