I'd say that overall regardless of the OA calls VonBergen did a good job and that it was a nice 1v1 to be in, split second calls like that are difficult.

Brots can you clarify what is allowed?
1b. Movement ONLY in formation.Letting your men reload while a portion of your line is moving is ok, but not if they keep reloading while the line is moving away. For example: The rear five men of your line are reloading, and you decide to move. You can overtake these reloading men and they can keep reloading - but if the line passed these men, they have to keep up with it. They are not allowed to create a gap.
1b.1 A formation is a tight line, with gaps tightly closed when standing, and with gaps not bigger than 2 men average while moving.
1b.2 Charge movements only in reasonable distances - a charge does not require any formation.
1b.3 A referee can insist on closing gaps in lines that are moving with too big gaps between their men.
So only the front or back can reload while the line is moving provided that you are going pass them and they fall into as soon as the line passes them?

i agree it can happen if they are close to the edge of the line, but in all the videos i've seen on this thread, the shooter aims at the guy beside the officer, its pretty obvious people do that so they can "Accidentally" shoot the officer and then show the video to disprove aiming at them.

I just wondered what to do if the officer is about 10 men away from his line and catches the enemy line for charge, since he is allowed to go away from his line but this really seems a bit like ramboing... In this case I just told him not to do this again but I'd like to hear the organizers opinion on this.
I've personally reset rounds in the past for officers who cheat by charging early to force melee. Technically it means the entire line is out of formation as the officer is charging so can be seen as sometimes 20 fol etc. Should be pretty obvious tho for any officer that you can't rambo. If you can't follow that rule then fuck knows what you are doing leading a regiment in nwl ::)

How it has been done earlier seasons:
1. 2(+/-1) bottom two relegated(disbanded or active doesnt matter) and one extra spot is played for: 3rd from bottom 1st leage vs 3rd from top 2nd league.
2. Yes. So atm only the 59th would be relegated if they lost to the 3rd placed team 2nd league.

After some feedback and viewing of video footage result will be altered to 4 : 5. Slaying the FiCers was not wrong, but in cases like these eg even numbers and close results, it is better to wait until the end of the round. After the round you can still reset with your justification, in this case multiple FIC.
Remember, as a ref you are allowed to pause the match and consult with other refs or even organizers. Of course you shouldn't do this for every little offense.

Why is it shit? This is the competitive scene of NW where regiments, regardless of size, are playing to win. It is unfair to negatively react to a regiment bringing their best team, that is the point of the NWL.

Strand The Selmy, I complained about that once as despite me not remembering what regiment it was, I do remember that we both had 23ish people in the server and after losing a couple of rounds they swapped a couple of people to spectator which, at the time was a bit annoying as I wanted everyone who showed up to play as many rounds as possible, and this was possible as both regiments had about the same amount of people present, but from the other regiments perspective it makes perfect sense. If the enemy has 20 good performing people and you have 17 but 20 people in the server, you'd be dumb to put those other 3 in, in an environment where you play to win.
I was actually just here to check how the 33rd are doing, and I'm glad to see that they're doing very well, but while I'm here let me clarify something. The last two seasons of NWL the 33rd participated in under my command, we would rarely have more than 20 people turning up for NWL as our NWL team would consist of only about 25 members. Yes the 33rd gets, and at that time got 50-60 people turning up to events, but that doesn't mean all of those members are skilled enough to represent the regiment in a competitive setting. The 33rd has always been one of those regiments where 95% of the people joining are brand new to the game and need to be taught everything from scratch. You'd be a fool to let those new people play in NWL. Only the people that the command deems fit to represent the 33rd in the NWL will be allowed on the team.
(If you are Kaide then 1. Yoo what's up, long time no see and 2. If you are Kaide I'm very surprised that you even posted that, surely you should know better having lead (leading?) a regiment yourself).
Anyway I just came here to check on the 33rd's NWL performance. Cool to see it still being run by Brot and friends and to see many regiments participating. Good shit good shit!

I agree that Reserves (commonly formerly very active / veteran members of a regiment) only turning up for NWL matches isn't an issue, many of them having far less time or interest in the game, however having proven their loyalty to that particular regiment. However I don't believe that members who are relatively new to a regiment, who just join for NWL and do not interact with the rest of the regiment should be allowed to play under this rule, often only staying for a single season or several matches. Regiments that do this are basically giving invites a rank so that they can win with false strength.
A season or two back we had personal experience with this, allowing stark and herishey in the 33rd we thought great, two good players to join our community. however after attending 1 or 2 normal events they wished to be in reserves and only play in NWL, not even interacting with our members outside of these matches. We (myself and st3fan) decided that we would rather lose fairly as the 33rd than win with fake members which is why I am very glad to see this rule. It may be hard to enforce but it at least adds a moral code for regiments.

Nwl isn't only about melee though, they might have worse gf power than a league 2 reg like the 17e, but they have much more capable leader who made them perform good enough to win the league ::) ::)

Like holy hell, the toxicity that your regiment has shown towards the referee in this match is only topped by the toxic wastes which the Nazis used to gas people in the chambers. The admins are sacrificing their freetime for you so you can play your matches properly. If they make a mistake, what happens to anybody, just stay calm and write to Brot and me. If you start insulting it firstly will most likely make the reffing worse and secondly you are getting punished for it. It is completly unacceptable when you start insulting anybody especially the admin.
In the case of the 15th YR vs K-KA match we've read the logs and banned three individuals from the K-KA for insulting. In the clip you've posted is no rulebreak at all to see, we'll see if there anything else when we the whole video.

And to finalise my points I'd like to point out the fact that we camped for like the first 3 rounds and then spent the rest of the time running around with you in a circle, not to mention the fact that tops we got 1-2 kills from range before engaging you in short distance shooting/melee. Perhaps if you spent less time insulting the referee and focusing on the match then you wouldn't have lost as it was certainly a close match.
This is a videogame, there's no reason why there should be so much salt about this. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter who wins. It matters who actually enjoyed playing the match and if one team decides to be less than sportsmanlike then the admins should intervene. I'm not part of the 1st League, but reading the posts on this thread has been disheartening. I would like to remind you all, that at the end of the day you have a responsibility to other regiments as well. If you go into matches without an expectation, then you won't be so mad. You guys are going in with the expectation to melee alot, thats just not how it works. Go in, figure out their play style after the first few rounds, otherwise you are triggered from minute 1 and it impacts your performances for the rest of the match.

As a new gen, i have come to know the KKA as a solid melee regiment, and in my own perspective, Pride as a good leader with a solid history behind him and i didnt see him get too bogged down in his own members banter or trashtalk etc.
But after this 1v1, and this salty FSE shit, i may have been wrong..

You guys keep complaining about the FiC on the first round, but the video you posted quite clearly shows you didn't enter melee. So you obviously need to wait for the video from 15th.
@DasBrot - Myself and a few others all applied to be reff's, I just never actually got an answer. I don't think we have ever had THAT much of a problem with a referee shortage, normally on a Sunday (because lots of people played NWL on a Sunday) there would be a shortage but for most days it was down to lazy leaders that couldn't be bothered to msg anyone (I am actually kind of guilty of that!)
Just a little confused as to why we have resorted to so many 72nd and 6te reffs when like you say, they may be unexperienced? I have multiple experienced people in 18e such as Spicy who would gladly reff when needed if you are willing to let us. Its not been a problem any other season?

As sad as it is, people are right when telling that one shouldn't expect much melee in NWL. It's a line-Battle league and linebattles include (also exaggerated) shooting at some point. Doesn't make it better in any way, but you can't do anything about it.
Unfortunately some rather waste 60 minutes of their and others lifetime instead of just playing efficiently.

Reason being, the tournament went downhill severely quickly, both by referee choices and somewhat in part to the hosts, whom I get the feeling kinda can't be bothered too much anymore.
The league got old and I know I'm gonna get some flak here, this season has just become more of a camp fest, which shows where this community is going. The only way to win is to drain the living souls out of the enemy by camping... yaaah! I would have loved to have seen some action against this, reduced bullets etc. But nothing happened, and I doubt nothing ever will, because we all know camping is just a tactic.
Long are the days of the anti camping rules and actual attempting to out lead others by reversing etc, or just straight up in melee.
I'd say good luck to the remainders, but I just simply don't care anymore.
Hopefully someone else runs a similar, better and more active admined league and we'll look to revisit the LB scene. We know some refs are new, all give up their hr. But if you know they are new, at-least ref with them for a bit, not until they cock up massively to the point it becomes unbearable.

Organisers (I.e Brot) respond (eventually, sometimes not at all) in aggressive responses because he quite clearly can’t be arsed to put any attention into the league. His partner in crime is worse in the fact he interferes with refs during matches, particular those that he’s actually playing in.
The rules get watered down mid season after zero consultation but somehow banning K-KA members because they hurt your delicate (very delicate) feelings without even telling them makes sense.
I dunno how refs are selected but a large percentage seem to struggle with any logical thinking, really do t understand how this could be a problem at this stage of the game but you’ve managed it.
Then of course there is an even more advanced desire to camp. We find lbs fun, if we wanted a groupfighting match that’s what we would do but sitting on or behind a hill for 10 minutes until your opponent gets bored is not something we wish to par take in. It’s always been an issue but the number of regiments doing it now quite high. If you find it a good use of your time that’s fine.
And finally 85e withdrawal reduces the value of winning and playing in the league. It isn’t a reflection of regiments or people playing in the league it’s just clear it isn’t for us.

If you insult somebody you want to get a warning before your members get banned? If they insult somebody they should know the possible consequences. So if they insult without knowing the rules its your fault. If they know the rules and insult its their fault. In any chase it isnt the admins fault.
If you dont want camping matches then choose good maps. Big hills on the map =/= camping. In the 1st league everybody choose flat maps and then they get angry if somebody camps. Both teams have to aggree to a map. So if the enemy camps its your fault because you aggreed the wrong map ;)

tbh people who suggest the NLC rules probably forgot how actually broken that was :PNLC rules in general were fucking awful. I have already talked about the headglitching rule paired with the grass map where you could literally only sit behind small mounds, meaning both teams couldn't shoot at all and it becomes 1 big GF.

i agree with Cazasar about bad map choise. Often melee based regiments are searching for maps with hill in the middle but dont recognise the other parts of the map. This 50min round wouldn't be possible if you would saw this hill at spawn from the beginning. 12pp in our last match was mad at us when we chaigned pretty simillar map to avoid camping.
But nevertheless i played a lot off linebattles as 15thYR member and we faced a lot of campers. When Falk was leading he always tried to close up the distance without long-range shooting situations and just win in melee after a good volley. Every round after map change you could just use the same pattern as you did in 9th round.
To summarize:
It was bad map choise, and wrong tactical decision from 15thYR after side swap. No one should blame 72nd for camping for that match.
The first two rounds after map change we tried to charge them but messed up, in the third round we were trying to soften up the blow a bit but due to a few people not properly retreating back behind the hill they got shot and we were left at a disadvantage so that trying to close the space wasn't a viable option anymore and would have lead us to loose the round.i want just to mention, first two rounds you tried to shoot from long range and lost more men than 72nd. And from the competitive side there is no benefit for 72nd to go in close range combat.
Whilst I do agree that trying to close the distance would have been preferable we actually offered the 72nd to face on levelled ground several times (even after the DC) but they (understandably) did not take the offer.
