"Voor volk en vaderland"




ABOUT
The Landstorm is an EU based regiment that aims to represent a Dutch presence in the battlegrounds of the Napoleonic Wars.


HISTORY
The 'Landstorm' was a reserve unit of armed citizens which consisted out of any able-bodied men from the age of 17 to 50 during the time of the Napoleonic era. Batallions of the unit would frequently participate in the besieging of French garrisons in the fight against Napoleon Bonaparte during 1813-1814 in the war of the Sixth Coalition. For example, Delfzijl was besieged using 19 battalions of Landstorm.
