Foreign Intervention / Re: [EF] French Foreign Legion [EU - NA]

Hi guys sorry! Been away and haven't checked this page for a while. We know the ranks aren't historically accurate, but they're more modelled on the way we like to organise things. However, we are considering a restructuring of the ranks.  :)

I'm sure I saw one for the French, you know for the Foreign Intervention faction? But everywhere I look I can only find Britain and Mexico?

Thanks to you both. :D And "Under-Officer" is roughly equal to a Lieutenant, although they're not actually an officer. So basically for an officer in training.

I heard a rumour that 1.0 is being released this weekend, please tell me this is true?

French Foreign Legion

Legio, Patria, Nostra!

Bienvenue a la Légion, salope!

A fort in French Algeria, sometime in the 1860s.

Bonjour! You've just had the honour of being conscrip... I mean volunteering for "La Légion Étrangère"; France's foremost fighting unit! and the only one comprised almost entirely of foreigners! Led by our glorious leader, Emperor Napoleon III (nephew of the famous General!), we will bring glory to France and the Legion. Founded only 30 years ago by King Louis-Philippe I, we have yet to prove our worth, having only served briefly during the Spanish, Crimean, Italian, and Algerian campaigns, which has become our home. However, I know that in the forth-coming North American campaigns, we will play a pivotal role, and I can promise each man a new home, a new identity, and above all, adventure and glory, for he shall become a son of France by the blood he sheds rather than the blood he has inherited! Also, never fear lads, for a girl always loves a man in the Kepi Blanc, and you'll never be short of drink, or tobacco in my company!

Long live the Legion!

- Lieutenant Rory Ferguson, French Foreign Legion

Legionnaire's Code of Honour

Art. 1    Legionnaire, you are a volunteer serving France with honour and fidelity.

Art. 2    Each legionnaire is your brother in arms whatever his nationality, his race or his religion might be. You show him the same close solidarity that links the members of the same family.

Art. 3    Respect for traditions, devotion to your leaders, discipline and comradeship are your strengths, courage and loyalty your virtues.

Art. 4    Proud of your status as legionnaire, you display this in your always impeccable uniform, your always dignified but modest behaviour, and your clean living quarters.

Art. 5    An elite soldier, you train rigorously, you maintain your weapon as your most precious possession, and you take constant care of your physical form.

Art. 6    The mission is sacred, you carry it out until the end and, if necessary in the field, at the risk of your life.

Art. 7    In combat, you act without passion and without hate, you respect defeated enemies, and you never abandon your dead, your wounded, or your arms.

Recruitment

To join, please message "TheScottishChé" on steam or on here, or message "Ageati" on steam. To join you must have Teamspeak, mics are not required, but you must have access to TS for trainings, battles, and other events. You will join as a recruit where you must first prove your worth, when you will don the famous "Kepi Blanc" and become a Legionnaire. When you are a recruit, you may go by the name of your choosing, but when you become a Legionnaire you must be able to provide a full name (first and surname) and a nationality (it doesn't have to be your real one). It should also be noted that much of the time we will be playing as sharpshooters for the Union or Confederacy, due to the fact that the Foreign Intervention faction will likely not be available in many events. Due to this, we will have sharpshooter trainings as well as line infantry trainings.
