The Mess Hall / Re: "Love" is bullshit and let me tell you why

What exactly made you post this? I'm so confused.

Have been using these for a while. Got the link waaaay back when I was enlisted in the DDA. It was a shame it was ruined by the NW update. I could have updated the skins myself, but I'm a lazy bugger... It's a very nice pack of sweet looking Danish uniforms. Marvelous.

We all want to be able to control who comes to events and such, and have agreed on this via a teamspeak discussion. So many people on this mod are toxic and want to be in control, and see themselves as the reason this mod is alive again.
That sounds immensely ironic. Who in in the world is "we"? It's like you think it's okay to get rid of certain players just because you don't like them. If that goes through it'll suddenly sound like you want to be in control instead. You can't simply ban someone because they're toxic. Let server admins deal with that instead.

Something you should do if you can is fix the face customization bugs. The slides are all attached to the wrong facial features and a few of the little details like the cigars and beards etc don't register when you save your character.

Best of luck with the work for the patch, gentlemen!

That's an interesting question!
The rank "Hautboist" dates back to the 17th century when oboes were considered a main instrument of the military orchestra - one of the oboe-players used to lead the orchestra when practicing and set the tone, similiar to the civilian position of the first violin. However, in the late 18th and 19th century armymusicians in general used to be called "Hoboist" or "Hautboist" until the First World War in Germany. The purpose of the name was to distinguish between actual musicians and the usual tambours giving drum- or hornsignals:
The Hautboists made up the actual band, led by a Kapell- or Musikmeister.
The "Signalisten" on the other hand - drummers, trumpeters, hornists (fifers had been abolished before the Napoleonic Wars) - were not considered to be equal to Hautboists as their main purpose was rather simple signalling, while the Hautboists played the actual music. That's why Hautboists were higher in rank and pay.
Oooh, how interesting! I had no idea. Thanks for the explanation. :D

I'm quite curious to know the reason why the "hautoboisten" is a higher rank than the other musicians. Are you considered to be of higher importance when you play a specific instrument? ??? Hautbois means oboe in French. That's what raised my eyebrow.

Why do you waste your time with this?

you literally have 1500 posts on this forum and you're getting on me for wasting my time?
Way to go avoiding my question. Why do you waste your time with this? There is no point.

Sure, it's not a full drum corps, sure, the drum riff is not part of the song, but the video from the game? The fifer misses several notes and doesn't seem to keep a steady tempo. Maybe it's just me, maybe I'm wrong, but that doesn't sound exactly like "Hell on the Wabash".
Did you expect the band of her majesty's royal marines to show up and record fife and drums or what? I think it sounds fair enough for a preview. Besides, it's already 10 times better than the fife and drum from Holdfast that uses samples with no other articulations than staccato...
