8e Régiment d'Infanterie de Ligne

Real regiment's history :
The law of 21 February 1793 on the organization of the armed decided that the infantry would be formed 196 demi-brigades , each consisting of a battalion of preceding line regiments and two battalions of volunteers .



The law of 18 Nivose Year IV ( 7 January 1796 ) decreed the reorganization of the infantry. The number of battle demi-brigades was reduced to 100 ( so-called second training ) and those light infantry to 30. Soon after, the decree of 10 Germinal Year IV ( 30 March 1796 ) increased the number of half- brigades battle 110 .

The 8th line demi-brigade (2nd formation ) was formed in 1796 in Batavia army of the 3rd demi-brigade of infantry battle ( itself composed of the 1st Battalion of the 2nd line infantry regiment of the 5th Battalion of the Aisne and the 5th Battalion of the Côte d'Or (or 18th of Reserves ) on one hand , which formed his first battalion and a battalion trained 1st, 3rd and 5th battalions district Lille.

8th Regiment , formed the 8th demi-brigade . - Campaigns : year XII and XIII to the army of Hanover ; XIV in the year 1807 to the first body of the great army ; 1808 in Danzig and part party in Spain ; 1809 and 1810 the armies of Spain Etdu Rhine; 1811 and 1812 in the Spanish army ; 1813 in the Spanish army , the observation corps of Mainz and the observation corps of Bavaria ; 1814 to the great army  a portion of the body was made to Venloo prisoner of war ; 1815 to the great army .



In-Game 8e History :
8e has been created on 25th of June 2015 by Sous-Lieutenant Maxonovien, formerly Adjudant in the 2e Regiment of Ligth Infantry and Sergent Artichaut, former Sergent of the 2e.



Running
8e is an international semi-competitive regiment. In other words, it values both effectiveness and fun : trainings, linebattles, and events will be ruled with a strong discipline, but fun events along with gaming sessions will be offered in order to please everyone. 8e is also looking to deepen dialogue between the communities (this is the reason why we are international). In order to achieve this goal, we will work into having one day per week an event or a linebattle led by rankers... in their mother tongue. For practical, but mostly historical aspects, french will be the official language of the regiment (for orders, as an example), still main language will be the international one, English. For all these reasons, 8e will be for you a way to improve your spoken languages, to discover new cultures, and to play while being driven into the real military spirit of this glorious era.
