Naturally, well i guess i can play Empire Earth again, but it's just not the same thing. It lacks the character that made the first Age of Empires so remembarable.

O.o I thought AOE3 was amazing, I thought it beat AOE2 in almost every aspect.

It was certainly better, but it didn't really match the complete upgrade that 2 was in comparison to 1, i suppose it was more of a refinement of the formula.
I guess the spoiled little brat that i was expected more, i don't know. They all have a special place in my heart, but i still liked 1 and 2 more.

Yeah but that's the case with any game haha, it comes to the point where the formula is almost perfect and there's nothing left to add.

As i said, i was a spoiled and naive brat at the time, but the original impression i had has kind off stayed with me.
And i guess that's probably why we havn't seen a new installment in the series for such a long time, real shame that it had to come the way it did.

I've talked with some of their devs, it looks like there will be an AOE4. However at the moment they're still working on AOE online.
