In case you missed it, we've taken over development in June 2016 and since then released 3 versions(0.36-September 2015, 0.4 - January 2016, 0.42 - June 2016). The mod has active events and is still very much played ;)

After many years it is finally here..the Galactic Civil War is coming to Bear Force!

We are preparing a big update that will bring not only the Galactic Civil War, but we've completely redesigned the gunplay and how ranged weapons work. Along with some new features, gamemodes, fixes and optimization - this will be the biggest gameplay focused update we have released.

Greetings everyone,

The long awaited moment is here. In June 2015, we took up development of this mod and oh boy how naive were we. Our original expectations was to bring all this type of content in the Winter of 2015.

As time progressed, we saw that not only is our aim really ambitious, but also that we want to make it as quality, polished and packed with variety as possible. This led to now almost a year and a half of development, 4 public versions released and absolute loads of fun. There was good times, there was bad times, but all of it is something we will never forget.

With this update, Bear Force II will enter a new era. Our vision is here, the skeleton is set. Our focus will be on building on this skeleton and bringing this mod to every corner of the galaxy!

Bear Force II Development Blog 10 - 0.7 Release; Features and Overview


We're very proud we'll be releasing the next version of Star Wars: Bear Force II this week!

0.7 will be released on Thursday, 23rd February at 18:00 GMT. Continue reading the article for screenshots, details and changelog of the 0.7 version.

The Goal
[justify]As we've stated with 0.6 release, our further plan is to keep providing quality support for the module in terms of reworking and polishing existing features, fixing bugs and enhancing the current scenes/maps we have. Of course, like always we've added lots of new stuff but the focus has definetly been on refinement and polish.[/justify]

New Features
Incredible new map by Exima; Tatooine - Rancor Pit! The Rancor Pit is a small new map, the first in our new policy of expanding small battle, team deathmatch and deathmatch maps available in the mod. It's an extremely beautiful map with lots of recognizable details we're sure you'll enjoy. Let's take a look!

Yes, that's an actual gameplay screenshot!

Next up are new races we've added, the Rodians, Twi'Leks and Mon Calamari. In addition to this, all races will now be available for all rebel troops, allowing you to make your soldier even more unique on the battlefield!

We've also added a universal camouflage for Stormtroopers now, which will now no longer suffer from their white armour in forest/desert environment. In future updates, we'll add snow rebels and some other variations as well.

We've started looking after some of the animations as well, in this update you'll recieve this new pistol aiming animation which fits into a shooter much better than the old, 'flintlock' animation.

A new resource for sceners/mappers was also added, containing the props from the iconic clone trooper training facility, no doubt there will be fantastic new maps and training maps using that. A new soundtrack will also be present in 0.7, we'll preview that somewhat later.

Shield + Pistol combination removed from standard troopers
Scarif - Islands - New Map
Rhen Var - Fortress - Reworked version implemented
Increased Force Pike speed
Added vibro swords to rebel and imperial sharpshooters
Implement Tor-Qel's solution for blunt Jedi hitting sounds
Stat neutral heads/race heads
Jedi Battle Armour has more weight value
Jedi Battle Armour has more armour value
Physical volume increased for Jedi Armour
Added force pikes to Galactic/Rebel force classes
Removed SMG from B1 Droid
Removed SMG from BX Commando Droid, replaced it with a pistol
Mon Calamari head name fixed
Red lightsaber bug fixed
Main menu and color picking jedi cloth updated
Other small bug fixes

Thanks to Scar, the main thread and the format have been redesigned to provide important information and look like something.

Now, we're looking for any speakers of Italian, Chinese, Romanian, French, Hungarian, Spanish and other languages to translate the thread for use on sub boards, and external language forums. PM me if you want to help. We'll also be adding the localization for all the available languages for the next update.

As far as mod development goes, we had two weekends of beta testing, and everything should be ready for the release in July. Explosives have been recoded and re-added to the mod, Conquest has been fixed and a multitude of other things you can keep track of on our Trello. Hopefully a new blog will be put out this weekend!
