William's Simple Skins

Hello guys, here are my simple skins. I put a lot of work into these and although it's just recoloring, I plan to add in more as I become more experienced. I'm sort of a rookie  :-\. Regardless, I hope you guys enjoy my first skin and all my skins to come. Suggestions would be welcome so I guess you could say I am taking requests but no guarantees I'll do it. Just make sure it's something simple  :-*. All are welcome to use my skins, just comment below that you are using it so I can have an idea of who is using my skins, other then that, hope you all enjoy these  :)

The main problem I have is that if I turn one of the English shakos white, they all turn white, and I mean, every one. Artillery, 33rd, Guards, rifle hats, even the light dragoons. So unfortunately, I will have to keep the black hat. Now I also will need something to restore my hats to vanilla  :-\

Just copy and paste the edited files elsewhere PUT THEM IN A FOLDER WELL AWAY FROM WARBAND SO THEY DON'T GET OVERWRITTEN restore the old ones with a reinstallation and then use the old shako file from the newly reinstalled version to get them back.

Then add them to the modified resources and you have most of it sorted.

EDIT: Big big apologies to you man, I should have been clearer with this advice :(.

Well, I don't know if that will actually get the white shakos, but it will for the most part, clean up my hats so that I can try and find a way to get the shako white.

if you want to make them white without changing the other hats you have to make extra texture file and add it with openBRF

Well, some  bad news. I took SeanBean's advice to restore my cache, (why I listened to him I have no idea) and I pulled out my edited brituniforms so I could put it back after it wiped my screwed up hats for vanilla ones. Well, it also wiped out my uniforms so now I'm going to have to do some stuff, I have to restart the ranker, then get to work on the NCO, then finish the officer, sgt, and music crew. Yay  :-\

Edit: I also lost my 33rd reskin which took 6 man hours to make.

You forgot to back up the original stuff and pasted them outside the NW folder? sorry man, I thought you knew the golden rule always back make back ups. I'm sure I mentioned it?

From now on I'll just work on small enhancements here and there, BRF changes with hats. Tempted to put on the epic enhancement mod but not really sure.

Well for good practice you can always do what Mr. Kochi did but for Austria, making minor edits of the turn-back and facings of other line regiments for a faction.

Use this for Austria (http://napoleonistyka.atspace.com/Austrian_infantry.htm) and This for Prussia (http://napoleonistyka.atspace.com/Prussian_infantry.htm) as basic reference materiel and work up from there? Just scroll down and look for the easy to read table with the named regiments and the colour of the collar and cuffs.

This, and the fact that these uniforms are for the most part to jazz up NW. It gets boring with the same units everyday. I suppose I'll put up my new 33rd, aka the 44th/57th. The one on display now is out of date and I deleted it.

William, I got a bit of a special request, where the French artillery uniform is replaced by the uniform of the marines, but they keep the artillery gear. (Belts and such)

Sergeants can keep their uniforms.

Yeah, pretty much.

In a later stage I might ask to make the leather black or change the cuff colours, but my group hasn't decided yet on that in specific.

Please don't just change the uniform of the NAVAL artillery, because we collectively hate those and their half-nakedness. We want to appear as the foot artillery to other players.

I've tried doing it with the 28th insignia but it left a black patch (even after it was transparent). If you're alright with that then I'll change it. And this is all for the kgl?

They're zipped now, just extract and place the BRF files in the resource and the dds in the textures.

Your texture is too black whereas the "source material" picture looks like very very dark purple. Or I am just blind
