The NWRP North and South Campaign

Over the past few weeks, the NWRP N&S Campaign team have been working hard to develop a brand new campaign! This Campaign will be set in the American Civil War with players being able to lead the Union and Confederacy as President and Vice President; they will also be able to choose Generals and Advisors for their faction who serve at the pleasure of the President.

Slots for Officers in the Campaign Battles will be open for everyone, public player or regimental everyone has a fair chance at leading their faction on the battlefield!

So far, we have created the campaign map and are working on creating multiple custom in-game maps. We've drafted the rules and conducted two playtests. Currently, we are working on refining the rules, playtesting, making the campaign map interactive and making new custom maps for the campaign. If you are interested in helping out with playtesting or mapping be sure to contact me!

We are currently at a stage of development where leadership applications can be considered. There are 2 leadership positions able to be applied for per faction with the factions being the United States of America and the Confederate States of America.

The President is the head of state and head of government of his faction. As President, responsibilities include devising and implementing strategies, moving armies on the campaign map and managing the faction as a whole.

The Vice President is the second in command of the faction after the President. The responsibilities of the Vice President include assisting the President and representing the faction in the absence of the President.

Generals and Advisors are not applicable roles. However, they may be appointed by the President to have access to a private channel in order to discuss moves and strategies.

There is currently no release date planned but is expected to start within the next 2 months. Furthermore, the President and Vice President leadership applications open on Saturday 31/07/2021

Events: EU / The NWRP Waterloo Event
« on: June 11, 2021, 08:51:21 pm »
It is what NWRP is most famous for, and it's that time of the year!

The Waterloo Event is here! Beginning on the 18th of June at 7pm BST, 1 Hour Earlier than our usual Events.

The Server will be called "Napoleonic_Roleplay" with 200 slots open to everyone, there will be no reserved classes in this Event.
Admins will be hosting from Midday for any players who want to jump on early!

Like last year we will be using the Event Stages:

1st, The Defence of Hougoumont

2nd, The Defence of La Haye Sainte

3rd, All of the Battle is Unleashed

4th, The Charge of the Scots Greys

A Secret 5th Part

6th, Ney's Cavalry Charge

7th, The Advance of the 71st Highlanders

8th, Napoleon Commits the Old Guard

And Finally, The Arrival of the Prussians!

We expect this to take between 1 - 2 hours so be prepared and set some time aside for a truly action-packed evening! This will give us many different Roleplays but it will be mixed in with some standard Waterloo Battles like in the Golden Days. We've even modified some of the maps to make them more competitive; by balancing the playing field for some of the last year's unbalanced sequences.

I hope you guys will take the effort to spread the word about this Event! As we pull out all the stops to make this Waterloo Event the most memorable one yet!

NARC Campaign is starting in Less Than Two Weeks!

With the Campaign starting soon and applications opening today, here is some information about the upcoming NARC Campaign.

1) Resource management and economic development are being introduced in this campaign. While the appearances of a map where armies move around might make it seem similar to the previous NRP campaigns, the armies in this campaign require a little more than just a few orders to move around and fight. The factions will have to pay their soldiers, feed them and make sure they get proper equipment. To accomplish this, a strong economy and resources will be necessary.

2) Technology and research will be a key mechanic in the campaign, where factions can allocate their resources to advance technologically in military and economic fields. The campaign will start in the era of sticks and stones, and over time, technological advancements will take the world all the way to the modern age.

3) Conquest and colonization will allow the factions to expand and acquire resources that they lack, like fertile fields for agriculture, ore deposits for mining, or for any other purpose. To conquer, the factions will wage war, fight battles and besiege cities. Colonization, on the other hand, will create encounters with native groups or just natural events that the faction will need to respond to.

4) Diplomacy and trade: The factions will be able to trade and entertain diplomatic deals with one another as they wish, creating a political landscape entirely up to the players. There will be very little restrictions on what can be done, so expect a lot of backroom schemes and backstabbing.

The exact rules and all the details about the Campaign will be announced once the applications are closed. Good luck to everyone!

Remember to join the NRP Discord to put in an application to join this Campaign as one of the Faction Leaders: nwrp.eu/discord

NRP Campaign 7.0 is Over!

Now that it's over what comes next?

Well during the running of Campaign 7.0 we've been thinking about what we can do to keep our events fun and exciting; the conclusion we came to was that using the most popular mods on M&B is a great way to keep people enjoying our events.

For the majority of mods that we will use will be easily installed via the Steam Workshop or ModDB this will give the largest amount of accessibility to our players without asking them to jump through lots of hoops. What we hope for by doing this is creating a less competitive environment that can allow even the most casual players to enjoy themselves; with no reserved officer slots or special roles to be held. Everyone is free to play in our events how they want to play within our basic rules.

The first Event we've planned is for Saturday and Sunday this weekend, the 19th and 20th at 8pm GMT. We've put a lot of effort into the planning of these events so the more people that turn up the more fun we can have! The Iron Europe mod creates a truly epic scenario for events to take place in; putting them in the midst of World War 1. We've based our events around 7 Major Battles for the 2 evenings of gameplay; Ypres, Passchendaele, Arras, The Somme, Aisne, Champagne and Verdun.

All the Events will be on the Public_Events Server on Iron Europe at 8pm GMT, this Saturday and Sunday.

Events: EU / Campaign 7.0 Update Development Post
« on: September 15, 2020, 01:13:30 am »
Campaign 7.0 is now less than 2 weeks away!

We have been working tirelessly to perfect the introduction of the new gamemodes, maps and rules. We are very happy with the current state of preparation, Here are just a few of the new implementations and changes for the campaign:

1) New Siege Gamemode and Maps, rather than the old Town Battles that had strange balances and felt like they were won and lost on the flip of a coin. We replaced them with actual siege battles, they will have a 1:1 balance and be a standard siege, defenders can try to organise a defence led by officers in their lines, or just choose to let people fight how they want to fight.

2) New Scout Armies, Mechanics and Battles. With the introduction of Scout Armies alongside the standard Major Armies will create new battles and scenarios; these will be if a Scout Army clashes with a Major army then a Cavalry vs Infantry Battle will ensue, whereas if a Scout Army clashes with another Scout Army then a Cavalry vs Cavalry battle will ensue. Furthermore, these lighter armies will be able to move 2 tiles instead of the standard 1.

3) The return to 2 of the old Battle mechanics; the first being the tried and tested Best of 7 Battles, this would mean up to 3 maps and a minimum of 2. The 1st and 2nd being NRP Custom Maps and the 3rd being a random map for the tie-breaker. As well as this, we are bringing back the map-tile binding where our best maps are bound to the most active tiles. This way there is consistency in the Campaign's battlefields so as battles that reoccur on the same tile will be listed as the 1st, 2nd, 3rd...etc Battle of that Province (Example, the 4th Battle of Baudemont). It also means that in all these battles the first map will be the same as generals fight over the same battlefields and may learn the best maps that NRP has to offer.

4) Faction Ranks; This Campaign we are allowing the Faction Leaders to create up to 3 new ranks in the discord for the best officers and enlisted men can work their way up to, so that they can demonstrate their prowess and skill on the battlefield. These can also be in medal applications as examples of bravery and heroism.

If you haven't already applied for leadership and you think you have what it takes then apply here:
https://calradia.eu/topic/1000-campaign-70-leadership-applications/

And remember to join our discord: nwrp.eu/discord

Soon the Campaign will begin; Blood will be spilled, Sabres will flash and Cannons will roar.

Events: EU / NRP; The Campaign Strikes Back (7.0)
« on: July 28, 2020, 01:35:18 am »
The NRP Campaign is back!

After a long period of intense revision of our previous campaigns we have decided to have some major shakeups for this next Campaign.

First off; The Big Changes: we will be introducing 3 new Game-modes into the Campaign to stop the battles being so repetitive, these will be Sieges and Cavalry vs Cavalry RP and Cavalry vs Infantry RP. We have noticed how stale the Campaigns would become with battles that would play similarly round after round, so with the introduction of these new game-modes and measures put in place to reduce camping during the classic battles, we hope to shake-up and improve the campaign a lot with these changes, removing the biggest problems people have had with the campaigns.

Secondly, we have decided to revert back to the Best of 7 System that we used to operate by to win the Battles, this will mean 3 maps can be used for every single battle; 3 rounds on the first map, 3 on the second map and it could go to a tie-breaker on a random final map. Furthermore, provinces in the centre of the map that are likely to see the most action will have 1 map bound to the province. This will mean that recurring battles in the same province will lead to the 2nd (3rd, 4th, etc) Battle of that province, this will give armies the opportunity to learn the maps and use more bold tactics to take advantage of their experience on the map.

Thirdly, the Cav vs Cav and Cav vs Inf Game-modes revolve around the implementation of a new mechanic on the Campaign Map this mechanic will be Scout Armies, these Scout Armies will be able to move further than the main armies in a single turn. Being able to manoeuvre around the enemy armies will give them the option to take lightly defended towns and cities. However, they will be made up of only a few divisions, this means if they are caught by a larger army; then a Cavalry vs Infantry scenario will develop and if the scout army is defeated then it will be wiped off the map. Although, the speed of these armies means the only thing likely to catch them will be other Scout Armies, if one Scout Army is caught by another Scout Army then a Cavalry vs Cavalry scenario will develop for the first 3 rounds on the first map.

Finally, the implementation of Sieges will take over for City Battles instead of the old Town Battles that used to take place, this will hopefully lead to less problems with ramboing and balance issues during these sieges.

TL;DR: Sieges, Cav vs Cav/Inf, Less Camping, Less Town Battle Issues.

We will be releasing the LEADERSHIP APPLICATIONS within the coming weeks on https://calradia.eu/, there will be another post on both the Taleworlds and FlyingSquirrelEntertainment Forums, remember to join our Discord: Calradia.eu/Discord for faster updates and awareness about our other events!
