First Post Updated with details of our next event, taking place on 5th July - the Battle of Austerlitz!

As usual Sign-ups will open here once I have heard from our current conquest event attendees.

Next Event - 18:45 GMT on Wednesday the 5th July!

Where - 33rd_Austerlitz_Event

The Battle of Austerlitz can be considered one of the most decisive engagements of the Napoleonic era; The Grande Armee - isolated at the full extent of its lines of communication, with an array of forces opposing with superior numbers. At Austerlitz Napoleon tempted the combined Austrian and Russian army into attacking before they could be further reinforced and despite their inferiority in numbers Napoleon claimed a Decisive Victory. In essence this was gained by the allied army over extending itself to engage the flanks of the French force, which then in turn struck hard in the allied centre and severed the combined Russian and Austrian army in two. The battle therefore represents not only a triumph against a force which was numerically superior but also a decisve defeat for the Coalition army, losing some 36,000 men.

Thanks as usual to Chad for capturing the event - hope all those who attended enjoyed!

Any suggestions for future scenarios are welcome but we want to go in a more chronological order from here on out, covering new events and past ones as we go on past 1805 and Austerlitz; The next logical one therefore will be a new event, focusing on the 1806 campaign in Prussia with Napoleon facing off against the newly formed Fourth Coalition. Details to follow!!

For a future scenario, I suggest you the Battle of Eylau, wich took place in February 1807, during the Campaign of Prussia and Poland.
You could have plenty of stage such as the complete destruction of the 14e Régiment, the great cavalry charge of Murat (10 000 horsemen), the attack of the "Garde Impérial" (first time ever Napoleon send them to fight) and reinforcement of Marshal's Ney...
And I'm sure if you dig deep enought you'll find more about this slaughter :D

Definitely!! Would be a good way to go after Jena/Auerstadt/Saalfeld in 1806 that we'll be doing in a couple of weeks. Depending on how much content from Eylau we wanted to use I was also thinking of including Friedland in the event, to round off the campaign against the fourth coalition nicely.

Lights availables here ?

As this event replaces our conquest event once a month we give those who attend the conquest 'priority' on this event then open up to apps for individual monthly historical events here. There are usually a few spaces since we try to keep numbers low for normal conquest so its not laggy but this one we want around 180 players - however lights are usually always taken by ourselves and the 70th sorry again!! All I would say though is that depending on the scenario the classes each unit takes changes between each round, so occasionally Lines will find themselves taking Cav, lights or even arty at times :)

Next Event - 18:45 GMT on Wednesday the 2nd August!

Where - 33rd_Prussian_Campaign_1806!

Napoleon's campaign against the Prussians in 1806 represented the first half of the war of the fourth coalition, formed against France shortly after the third coalitions' defeat at Austerlitz in 1805. The campaign was one of lightning speed, with some small isolated actions before and a final decisive twin set of battles at both Jena and Auerstadt. The experienced Grande armee once again displayed it's versatility and speed in this short campaign with the destruction of most the Prussian forces and capture of Berlin taking only 19 days.

Please note that this Event will be replacing our Wednesday Conquest Event for this date only, our usual Conquest will continue to take place after this date.
