100th Event for the Regiment!Today the 40th (2nd Somersetshire) Regiment of Foot had it's 100th event under the 40th name. To celebrate our 100th event the 2 companies played some Hunger Games and Capture The Flag during a combined fun internal event.A good attendance from both companies to commemorate the 100th event today.The Infantry with a good attendance of 28 menThe Cavalry with a good attendance of 13 menThe 40th had a combined attendance of 41 - With a few friends of the regiment joining us along as well.During the debrief, an important announcement was made to the regiment which will change how the regiment will function going forward.Colonel Rhen has decided to resign as active commander and colonel of the 40th, and going forward Colonel Ulfur will be taking command over the 40th. The previous Colonel Rhen was given the rank of Colour Serjeant to continue his involvement in the 40th, and under discretion of the staff a new medal was created and awarded to Colour Serjeant Rhen for his service and dedication he has granted to the 40th since taking control of it. The "King's Cross"A huge thank you to Rhen for his service to the community of the 40th, and a big congratulations to Colonel Ulfur on his promotion.God Save the King!
