So your tolerance rests wholly on your sex drive?

definitely not , as Duuring knows :) u wont meet anyone more Conservative than me :)

Yep, I can vouch for that. I've always been surprised someone as freeminded and socialist as me can get along with someone as conservative as Zac...I suppose it's all for the spirit of re-enactment.

Landrik, I can see your logic. Nevertheless, discrimination (and historical accuracy or not, that's what it is) has no place in re-enactment, in my opinion.

But could you share your reasons for this?

Sure.

Historically incorrect, such as going to a living history and having a women dressed in uniform would give the wrong impression to the public viewing upon the time period.

When dressing as a man, I haven't seen one who hasn't looked bad or even close. Such as long hair put in a bun sticking out the back of their cap, etc. It ruins the immersion.

I agree with what Landrilk said. but if a women does it corectly, to go through the effort of looking like a men. then i think its ok.

I have no qualms with gender, even if it might be farbish thing by itself, as long as they do their impression sufficiently. Of course going for something more period-correct would be favourable, but I think it's simply extension to the good old problem of some folks being too preoccupied who has the most expensive bling bling period correct uniform, but is incapable of marching more than one minute before having to call for meal-on-wheels to the rescue, or someone who is barely acceptable, but passes off the actual portrayal of soldier by mannerisms etc with flying colours.
