8e Régiment d'Infanterie

"Toujours en avant"

History of the Regiment Created at Calais the 25 of march 1776 under the name of "Régiment de Ponthieu". Renamed "Régiment d'Austrasie" the 31 May 1776. Renamed 8e Régiment d'Infanterie de Ligne" in 1791. During the French Revolution, he took part on the campaign of Belgium, occupied the Nederlands and the North of Germany. Allocated in the Rhein Army in 1799, he participated at the Battle of Stockach, d'Heidelberg and Brakenheim. The regiment received his Eagle at the Champ de Mars, the 5th December of 1804, 3 days after the Coronation of Emperor Napoléon. He fought at Ligny and at Waterloo during the 100 Days Period. Participated in the Spain Campaign in 1823 and the Morean Campaign in 1828-1829, sieged Coron, the Greek garnison surrendered to the French troops. 1859: Italian Campaign, battle of Solférino 1870: Franco-Prussian war, battle of Sarrebruck, Forbach-Spicheren, Sedan and siege of Paris. During the Great War, he fought on a lot of great battles like Charleroi, Dinant, Guisen, la Marne, Champagne, Verdun, la Somme, offensive de l'Aisne (Le Chemin des Dames). «Magnifique régiment. Engagé dans toutes les grandes actions de la campagne, ne recula jamais devant les attaques de l'ennemi ; jamais l'ennemi ne put résister au choc de ses assauts.» Poincaré, 1920. He receives the Cross of the Legion of Honor on September 20th, 1920.

Competitive EU Events/Tournaments / Napoleonic Wars GroupFighting Tournament [EU] [OPEN]

Welcome to the Napoleonic Wars Groupfighting Tournament.

This tournament will be held at 19:00 GMT/ 20:00 CEST on Saturday the 29th of June 2013.
The sign-ups will close on Friday the 28th of June 2013
The tournament will take place on Groupfighting_Tournament_Server, the password will be given to the Team Captain by Steam.
I hope to see you in this early summer and some emergent teams as I want to see known teams.

I also want to notify that this is a "Groupfighting Tournament" so you are more than allowed to make cross-regimental teams.

Team Rules:

1.1 Teams have to contain a minimum of 5 players and a maximum of 8 players.

1.2 Teams are allowed to have 5 persons fighting at any given time. 2 members are expected to sit out if all 7 persons turn up.

In-Game Rules:

2.1 Shooting is not allowed.

2.2 Only line infantry models are to be used.

2.3 Only rankers are to be used.

2.4 Only bayonets are to be used.

2.5 There are 5 rounds to every match (will stop once someone reaches 3 to save time). The Final and the Bronze Match will be in a first to 5 format instead.

2.6 The fighters have to stay inside the arena until the fight is over.

Napoleonic Wars Single's Melee Tournament

Hello to the Napoleonic Wars community, It's time for the European Single's Melee Tournament to take place. I will accept anyone who want to join it until the 8th group is full.
The winner of the tournament will be awarded by somes prizes.

The prize will be:

•   Tripware Interactive Bundle
•   A Warband Server (50 slots) on any modules for 1 month.
•   The title of EU Single Melee Champion
