Ted's Ultimate Guide to the Server-Subboard [WIP]

So, you wish to be unbanned? You want to report a troll? Or you even want to become an admin yourself? Congratulations, you have allready found the right board! But as many posts show us: There often are missunderstandings of who to contact, where to post or what to do in general to achieve your goals. But don't worry: Here you can find everything you need to know!

1) General Information

a) Official Server – Private Server

The difference is quite simple: Official servers are hosted and administrated by/for the developers of this game: FSE.
The only official server currently is „NW_Official_NA1“.

Anyways, read point 4b) befor attempting to become an admin there! Just do it.

Private servers are owned by a private person or a group of people (e. g. a regiment).
Search the points below for the request you want to make and follow the instructions!

b) How to locate the right server topic

Official Server Ban/Unban requests are done in the „Official Servers Bans & Unbans“ subforum here: https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?board=25.0

If you have a request for any other server then NW_Official_NA 1 you need to look into the regular   „Servers“-Section of the forums.

To find the one you are searching for you can either browse the Servers-forum and search for the right one, or you simply look at the upper right corner and use the „Search“ button while browsing the Servers-Section. You can type the full name or part of the name in there and search for it. You should be able to find the right topic easily that way!

Example: You were banned from „Tropical_Paradise“.
The topic you are looking for is this one: https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/index.php?topic=14781.0
If you can't see it on the first page of the servers-forum type something like „Tropical“ into the search box and you hopefully should be able to find the topic!

Remember that some servers are doing the whole Administration on external webpages (e. g. 59th_Jailbreak, Napoleonic_Roleplay_ Server or Minisiege)! Remember to have a look if this is the case. Links to external webpages can be seen on the topic's first post. If there is none: there is no external webpage.

c) How to find your UID

Finding your UID is simple: Join Tropical Paradise ingame and look for the message showing your UID in the lower left corner. If it disappers too fast press „L“ to see the logs and search for the information.

Your UID is NOT your gamekey shown by steam. It simply is not, no. Avoid sharing your gamekey with anyone as it could be abused by someone to troll using YOUR key – this would get you banned from multipel servers easily.

2) Unban Requests


a) General Information

Unban Requests are the main part of posts written here. Anyways, there are a few things you should know about befor posting one.

Wait at least two hours after your ban befor posting an unban request.
Many bans are temporary only, you should be able to join again after 30min – 2 hours in this case. If you still can't join the server after this time: Feel free to post your unban request.

Locating the right server topic: Look at step 1b) to find the right topic.
If you were banned from any server except „NW_Official_NA1“ you mustn't post your unban request in the „Official Servers Bans & Unbans“ subforum. It's the wrong one in this case!

Basically every server has templates for any kind of request.
The  template for your unban request can be found in the first post of the server's topic. Just copy & paste the template into your post and fill it in! The Admins will then deal with your appeal.

Oh, another important thing: If you were banned from 15th Humans vs Bots... you needn't post an unban request. 15th never unbans anyone, they don't care if the ban was right or wrong. There is no unban from 15th Humans vs Bots!

b) „Dos“ and „Donts“

Dos:

- Wait at least two hours after being banned befor posting your unban appeal to be sure it wasn't a temporary ban.
- Use the right template. Requests without the right formal structure aren't considered.
- Check your appeal for mistakes. It is extremly annoying and childish to have tons of simple mistakes in every sentence. There are many good programs to check your spelling – use it!
- Be honest. Lies will get you nowhere.

Donts:

- Do not lie in your appeal. If you know the reason you were banned for admit it and apologise. Statements like „I don't know why I was banned“ while you were banned for using tons of racial slurs will bring you nowhere!
- Do not try to make an imaginary younger brother responsible for the rulebreaks. It is your account so you are responsible for any action done with your account! Trying to make someone else responsible for what happened is not really likely to get you unbanned.
- Do not spam the topic with „bumps“ every ten minutes. It takes the admins some time to investigate the matter – be patient.
- Again: Do not lie. We have logs, we often have screenshots, we normally have tons of proof of what you did. Lies will get you nowhere.
