If you have an Nvidia card then you can probably use Shadowplay or Share from GeForce Experience. It's super smooth :D

So ive downloaded obs. But the only thing i get is no sound and a black screen.

You need to set up the scenes. Dedicate an app to each scene. So you could swap scenes mid recording and switch to different apps. From Mount and Blade to Hearthstone for example.

but thats how you get it to show up

Since I uninstalled it I will show you a picture from internet
(https://www.fsegames.eu/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fcdn.makeuseof.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2013%2F05%2Fscreencasting-tools-obs.png%3Fb34c28&hash=f886266c5d2dbc167045dbfa2916ad20499dae8d)
First start the game you want to record, in our case Warband. Dont close it! Press alt+tab. Click in the "Sources" box, then "Add", then "Game capture".  Name it like you want, for example M&B Warband. In "Aplication" select the game you want to record. Click OK and voilá! You can start recording. Just make sure the box next to "M&B Warband" is always ticked if you want to record it. But dont forget to change settings from Stream to recording etc.

it's not in english but I think it should tell you what to do

just create new scene and then set up source, if you wanna record games then create 'game capture' or something like that

I know some of the bigger youtubers use dxtory. I've tried it but the trial version is meh. Shadowplay is your best bet for a good, free one.

or you could go with 1337 bandicam trial with the watermark that we all remember from ancient Rome Total War videos.. or that's just me
Title: Re: PC Recording.
Post by: John Price on August 17, 2016, 04:28:50 pm
Haha yea Will I remember those.

Dxtory is good for bigger youtubers because you can set audio channels etc. (not sure if you can with OBS?) which allows them to remove voices from teamspeak and such if need be.

However when it comes to my own youtube channel I dont care much as Shadowplay works better for me.

I watch one YouTube video for OBS and I was fine. A quick search on YouTube should do you wonders.
