This 18th of June will mark the bicentennial of the Battle of Waterloo, where Napoleon Bonaparte was defeated by combined coalition forces under the command of Arthur Wellesley, Duke of Wellington, and Gebhard von Blucher. During this battle, the farmhouse of Hougoumont anchored Wellington's right flank, while La Haye Sainte dominated the road to Brussels in Wellington's center. These two locations saw some of the deadliest and most desperate fighting of the day. To mark the 200th anniversary of one of the most pivotal and dramatic battles in history, the 3eVolt will be hosting a Waterloo themed siege event on Thursday, June 18th.

How Will This Work?
We will be playing four rounds on two maps, for a total of 8 rounds. These rounds will be played on the siege game mode using the maps "La Haye Sainte (Day)" and "Hougoumont (Day)". The UK faction will be defending against the French faction. Each after two rounds, the teams will be swapped, and those previously playing on the UK team will play on France, and vice versa. As these maps are small, these rounds will generally take much shorter than usual siege rounds. Each regiment on the defending team will be allowed one sapper, and special classes can be applied for.

When?
Thursday, June 18th 8:00 PM EST

Rules
- Each team will have one unit of skirmishers, numbering no more than 10 players.
- Each regiment on the DEFENDING team will be allowed one sapper.
- Sappers may not plank spam, build sky towers, or put earth mounds in doorways.
- At the beginning of each round, the defenders will be given 3 minutes to ready defenses, during which time the attackers may only shoot from spawn.
- FoL and FoC is allowed once in the buildings, but unit cohesion must be maintained prior to breaching.

Sounds fun, but not even including the battle for Plancenoit on the left flank :( thats where the 3e(Along with the rest of the young guard) actually fought at too against the Prussian IV Korps in perhaps the bloodiest fighting of Waterloo.

I was thinking about having some sort of France vs Prussia for placenoit. What maps would work for that though? Minden? Are there any custom placenoit maps available?

Edit: I found a placenoit map and a papelotte map. I'll see if I can work them in.

Really going to try and get the 18th in for this. I know they hate siege (OMG LAG) but honestly this is so unique it would be a great experience.

Yeah please try to sign up! Also, these maps are small and don't even require breaching (there isn't even artillery) so lag and lack of melee shouldn't be too much of a concern.
