I really don't see how anyone could consider this any close of being disrespectful.

It's supposed to somewhat reflect how well we did in the tournament. Like some sort of a roleplay feature but nothing more. I know my players well enough to be sure they wouldn't be offended by it (would anyone actually will tho??) as they can take a loss like proper competitive players.
