Octogram Fort
« on: February 22, 2015, 05:14:00 am »
Playable on 63e siege server.

A foggy, dusk map. The destructible walls are three segments thick. Attackers get two boats, one siege ladder, and two pontoon bridges to get to attackers. Attackers have a howitzer and cannon already set up, and must limber other cannons from there. Explosives are enabled.

Try joining a regular Napoleonic Wars server and then re-running the installer.

The fort looks very nice, it has some style and interesting ideas and it seems to be balanced. there is only one thing that I don't like: the border map behind. You should do something to hide this.

Also for the explosives, I'm not sure that this is a very good idea. The fort wouldn't last 20 minutes imo.

What's wrong with the border map? Are you referring  to the outer terrain?

I will disable explosives if it proves to be unbalanced.

Looks good.

Anyway, if the bridge gets destroyed... will that mean, boats only? THat would ruin the match wouldn't it?

Attackers will have to jump the broken segments, or use planks to bridge the gaps. There are also the two pontoon bridges that lead to a siege ladder.

It seems to be a very nice map  :)
