Unusually high ping.

So, my ping has been pretty good across the board. 40 pings US1 and all that. However, ever since US1 got changed to NA1, I've been getting around 300 ping on it. All the other servers have the same low ping. Just wondering if theirs anything I can do about it, or if something happened to US1 when it was renamed. Thanks in advance for the help.

Since when was us1 renamed? Shows how long it's been since I played on it

If its the same for alot of North Americans i would say maybe an admin has made a mistake and set an EU server as named NA_1

however if not then check your internet speed and if you've been capped for downloading to much; it happens.
stop your family downloading stuff or streaming see if that fixes it, if not then see if it clears up after a few days. try turning graphics down; it sounds a stupid idea but less stress on you computer means it can send information and you receive what's happening

Same here, but in EU 1 for me as well as some other players I know.

I get massive flucuations of ping on EU 1 can go as high as 500 and I rubberband alot, I actually get about 85  ping on us1 so I just have to play on that :-(

i think this has been solved elsewhere.
the solution if i remember is to update your graphics drivers or downgrade them to a working one which didn't lag your game.
(the exact solution will be here somewhere im just giving the main answer to fix it)

Not sure if this has happened to the rest of you but my problem was fixed by itself. I went from having 80 ping when about 80 people played to having 36 ping. A vast improvement from even the time when I thought my ping great. Normally it would be about 50 ping when that many people played.
