It was literally in one battle.

2 * First Manassas and new market

Spoiler
Within a week of the Virginia Convention's approving the Ordinance of Secession on April 17, 1861, and under Jackson's command, cadets entered Confederate service. They transferred to Camp Lee in Richmond, where they helped to train recruits in preparation for the First Battle of Manassas (1861). The forty-seven younger cadets who reluctantly remained in Lexington to protect the state armory and property were rejoined by the rest of the Cadet Corps in January 1862. Throughout the war, 614 young men between the ages of fifteen and twenty-one served as drillmasters and generally avoided active military service. Although the administration successfully kept VMI cadets exempt from conscription, older cadets often left school to enlist and graduations were accelerated. Cadets drilled and trained as many as fifty thousand Confederate soldiers.[

When a gap opened up in the center of his line, however, the Confederate general was forced to send in the approximately 250 cadets, commanded by Captain Scott Shipp. "May God forgive me," he said, as the cadets joined a Confederate charge. "About this time we passed a group of wounded soldiers who cheered us but a shell, intended for us, burst in their midst, and they fell silent," cadet Gideon Davenport later recalled. "Suddenly there was a crack in our front[,] a gap appeared in our ranks[,] and First Sergeant Cabell, Privates Wheelwright Crockett and Jones fell dead, and others were wounded … the line went forward in the best of order."/spoiler]

They were not present at Manassas as a unit and I doubt they were even there at all.

No, because of their ridiculous choice of headgear for their modern dress uniform.

You break my heart. The VMI is my favorite unit. :'( :'( :'(

I mean look at this shit.

Modern military fashion is almost equal to committing warcrimes. Who ever the thought that wearing the chinstraps on their nose looked cool, or made sense? Equally their formations and everything just look like trash.

"Hey guys, you know what would be cool? Instead of holding our rifles straight and pressing our arms and hands against our body, to form as tight of a formation as possible, lets spread our arms out at all times and angle our guns so much that they are basically laying on our shoulders! That would look so fucking cool and make so much more sense!"

To be fair, I think the M1 is very unpractical to carry straight on the shoulder. They didn't even do this in the ww2 era.

I think it's suppose to rest on your chin. The British guard regiments do that and it doesn't look too stupid.

Yeah, but unless they change that, they won't be featured in the game. It is very important to me.

Shame. I loved to lead and run the VMI on North and South. Some of the best times I had on the mod.

Will the 22nd Virginia make an appearance? That's another favorite regiment of mine.
