Hey everyone, I am member of the 8e, go by the name of [8e]Hand. I have been a long time player of NW, since 2012 and something I noticed since coming back to the community there is a real divide between the casual and competitive regiments. As small as the community is nowadays I thought I may have an idea to come up with a 2v2 Linebattle League. The goal would be to make it semi-casual with an appeal to all regiments in the community. I came up with a outline of how I would envision the league to work but right now I am just trying to see if there would be any interest!
How Long Would the League Last?
Depending on how many regiments were in the league, I think around 5-7 weeks.
What would the schedule be?
Each week every regiment would do at least 1 2v2 battle. Scheduling would be done at the beginning of the week to figure out what times work for each battle and an at least 1 league admin.
What would the ruleset be?
I think the ruleset would be familiar to the competitive set with a couple changes. Here is what I had in mind:
1. No FoC/FoL/RoL
2. Line Infantry Only
3. 3 man balance with team attendance minimum at 22 players. ie if FRA has 23 players UK can only bring up to 26
4. Play on medium random map agreed by all regiments. Do a total of six rounds switching teams after round 3.
How would regiments be ranked?
Regiments would be ranked based on a win-loss-tie record. New rankings would be posted every Sunday.
How would teams be made?
I am thinking we would allow regiments to pick their partner each week, with a rule they cant pick the same regiment to team with two weeks in a row. Though I could see problems if the larger regiments in the league keep pairing up with each other thus getting vast numerical advantage each week.
What would the league culminate in?
The league would culminate in a 1v1 or 2v2 tournament at the every end where seeding would be taken from the rankings.
This 2v2 league was only an idea I had. So I just wanted to see if there was interest from any regiments. I don't have any money to give as COVID is fucking my wallet raw everyday. This would just be something for fun and to spice up our community. Let me know if you would be interested in the league and also if you would be willing to admin/offer a server for 2v2 battles!
