Pls help me. Little browser tech problem
« on: July 26, 2014, 03:15:04 am »
Since there isn't a thread for general tech problems (if there is fak you), I have a bit of an issue. Its most likely a virus, but I'd like to see if anyone else is having this problem.

The issue is simple. Adblock is not working...sorta. There are ads but they are empty hollow boxes and they only seem to be on this forum specifically. Other random ads do pop up though so I've ruled out anything being specifically wrong with this forum. If anyone knows the issue or the fix, I shall bequeath 5 shillings and a irish prostitute for ye troubles. If no one can give me an answer, I'll assume its a virus and do some HPV injections into my PC.

Thanks my dears. Pics below to give you a visual of what im talking about.

You got hit by malware. A fairly bad one at that.

first look at your plugins and delete anything suspicious. Next go to delete program files  and uninstall the program with the same name or any suspicious programs.

There are usually little hints to what malware is causing this. The second one says "ad by plus-HD", it could be the name of the malware infecting your PC.

IF the plugin keeps returning and you cannot find the thing that causes it just disable it (dont remove) for some reason it works.

But if you disable it sooner or later it will start to override the disable.
