-Introduction-
The King's German Artillery is a newly formed regiment that focuses on maintaining a good balance between enjoyment and realism.
Whilst our unit maintains a focus (as the name suggests) on artillery, we also play other event types such as; line, skirmishers, and cavalry, to ensure variety and enjoyment in events.
-History-
Our regiment is based on the artillery detachment of the King's German Legion, who had two horse batteries, and four foot batteries.
The King's German Legion itself was known to be a very distinguished unit, recruited in Hamburg, who featured prominently in Wellington's campaigns, making themselves a name among the other units of the British army, at various points in time demonstrating extreme valor, most prominently their involvement in the battle of Waterloo, their light infantry detachment valiantly holding Le Haye Sainte against numerous attacks.
Among these tales of glory from the rest of the KGL, Their artillery unit should not be forgotten, with their service being invaluable, their cannons being put to use not only in the Peninsula, but in the Baltic Sea and Mediterranean, as well as their involvement in the battle of Waterloo.
