Welcome to the EU_Duel server thread. Be sure to check out the server, it's there for all your competitive dueling needs be it for a tournament or just regular 1v1 ing. There is only 1 map on the server for now. We also have a few custom skins on the server for most nations to make it feel diffrent from other servers. The server is located in France and is hosted by the 33rd Regiment of foot, if it needs a reset be sure to message [33rd]Spoons on steam.

Scripts

Should any regiment wish to use TGL scripts for their own servers for friendly matches etc, or even if tournaments wish to use them, I will release them here with each months roster update.
Of course they only work for the regiments that take part in TGL and keep their rosters updated as a part of this Ladder, to have your regiment added to the scripts, join TGL  ;D

You can find download links for scripts / maps at the bottom of the thread. You will need both the strings.txt and scripts.txt files for TGL scripts, and the map files with associated scenes.txt for the maps!

TGL Script Features

*Shows team of the user as they join the server, or if they aren't currently on a team roster they show as unlisted.

*The left or right faction can be locked to a specific team roster to help prevent invites / fake members.

The Groupfighting Ladder / The Groupfighting Ladder (TGL)

The main idea behind The groupfighting Ladder is not only to create a permanant ranking system for regiments without relying on looking back at the latest tournament,
but also to give all regiments an easy way to find teams to fight at their skill level. For a long time many regiments have been put off joining NW tournaments as they either require you to play every opponent,
or get knocked out by a top reg early on. TGL will not only give the top reg's a persistant ranking system;
it will also provide aspiring regiments a place to work their way up and improve their teamwork against regiments at the same level as them throughout the leagues that TGL is split into.
 
Because matches could happen at any time, regiments will get a full 2 weeks to play a match, this enables them to organise around existing commitments.
 
Because the hope is that this ladder will be a permanant fixture, rules may be altered if multiple participating regiments put forward a good case to make a change which is then widely supported, but for now the rules that TGL will be founded under are listed below!

Regiment Profiles
Click above to find regiment steam contacts, fse thread links as well as up to date team rosters!




             

1.1 A regiment must be have been going for at least 3 months to join TGL. (Exceptions can be made for old regiments reforming but is at the discretion of the organisers.)
1.2 A player may only play for one regiment on the ladder.
1.3 Changing which regiment you play for is allowed during the transfer window, a request being put forward by the gaining regiment.
1.4 Each regiment must supply a list of user ID's for their members if that regiment is in, or moves into the top 5 leagues.
1.5 Each roster submitted must maintain a minimum of 15 players and never exceed 50* players.
1.6 Reigments in the challenger league do not need to submit a roster / keep it updated unless they move up into league 5.
1.7 Rosters for participating regiments will be updated once a month based on requests posted on the updates thread.



2.1 Each regiment will join the ladder at the bottom of the challenger league in order of when they applied, if the application is accepted.
2.2 The ladder will be split into 5 leagues of 5 with a 6th challenger league.
2.3 A regiment may challenge any regiment above them in the same league providing that regiment is not immune / has not already been challenged.
2.4 In order to move up a league, the top regiment in a league must challenge the bottom regiment in the league above them, should the challengers be successful then the losing regiment will be relegated to the top of the league below.
2.5 The challenger league has no limit, e.g. it could have 3 regiments, it could have 20.
2.6 The regiment at the top of the Challenger league may challenge any regiment outside of the top 10 in an attempt to join the main ladder in that position.
 


 3.1 Each match will be first to 15, but with a lead of 2*. For example, if the score is 15-14, then team one must then reach 16-14 to claim victory.
 *This has no limit!
3.2 Each match will be a 10v10 melee / infantry musket only groupfight.
3.3 If one team turns up with less than 10, their opponents may still use 10 players.
3.4 Each team are to stay behind the white line until the round is started.
3.5 Each round will be started by the referee once each team is ready.
3.6 Each player must play as a ranker, normal line infantry class.
3.7 Each regiment may play as their preferred faction, if they both desire the same faction then the defending regiment gets priority.



 4.1 Each match MUST be played on an official TGL server.
4.2 Only official TGL maps may be used.
4.3 The map is chosen by the defending regiment, confirmed by the referee when each team joins the server.
4.4 Regiments have 14 days from when the challenge was posted to play their match.
4.5 If both regiment contacts cannot agree on a match time/date, then the next Sunday after the 14 day period is up at 7:00pm UK Time will be set as default.
4.6 If a regiment does not show to their match / are more than 10 minutes late then the regiment that did show up may claim the victory.
4.7 A regiment may forfeit a match, however forfeiting too often* will lead to being removed from the ladder.
  *This is decided at the discretion of the organisers, however a warning will be provided first.



5.1 Only one challenge may exist on any regiment, on a first come first served basis.
5.2 Once a match is played the participating regiments must wait until the ladder is updated IF the defending regiment lost, before either may make a new challenge.
5.3 You may challenge a regiment above(reg 1) if they have challenged another themselves or if you have already been challenged by (reg 2) below you , however the 2 weeks to set up a match begins from when (reg 1) completes their match or from after you have fought (reg 2)*.
   *This is to prevent a regiment from constantly challenging as soon a match is complete to keep gaining immunity or trying to run away from a challenge rather than forfeit or fight.
5.4 If the above is the case matches MUST be played in order of when challenges were made.
5.5 Based on rules 5.3 and 5.4 - A Challenge becomes void if the regiment you challenged moves up a league before playing your match.
5.6 You MUST post your challenge both on the TGL updates thread AND on the defenders offical regiment thread on the same day otherwise the challenge is void.



6.1 As the matches themselves have a very simple format, it is ok for a participating ref to referee the match if a third party referee cannot be found.
6.2 Only the designated referee for a match is permitted to use admin chat.
6.3 No chat spamming, or intentionally offensive language/behavior in chat.
6.4 The referee may use his judgement to prevent delaying, or demand no use of all chat.
6.5 If rules are not respected a regiment may claim victory by posting clear evidence of rule breaks in a post using the complaint template.

We are a British Regiment that currently fields three different companies: Line infantry, Light infantry and an attached Cavalry Troop. This company system allows us to contribute a large presence as one whole regiment in our events, whilst maintaining smaller communities in which individual members can play their part! Our ever present aim is to maintain a regiment that provides a professional but enjoyable Napoleonic Wars experience for all kinds of players, whether they be brand-new or seasoned players. We partake and host a broad range of event kinds, from competitive tournaments to more period correct events - we therefore firmly believe that any type of NW player will find something they personally enjoy within our ranks!

We have accepted and still continue to accept members of all nationalities and have prided ourselves in having one of the most diverse rosters of different nationalities in the community. The only requirements are that you speak and understand English to an intermediate degree, along with the ability to attend one event a week. We also play a huge role in the wider M&B NW community, hosting servers for our numerous weekly events and tournaments, voluntarily funded by our dedicated membership.

About the Server

This server aims to provide another place for us all to enjoy the humans vs bots siege experience. Bots are automatically balanced on the right team to equal double the amount of players on the left, whilst bot commanders are limited to 5 meaning that the game-type is still balanced and fair even without admins online. All maps used are custom made or modified community maps, new maps will continuously be made and added to the server over time to provide new challenges to players, hopefully keeping it enjoyable to play on :)

'Humans vs bots' was created in June 2015 by myself and Cedric with the back-up of the 33rd. Starting with only 5 maps, some buggy autobot scripts and a dream. After failing to compete with the competition on a daily basis a few months later we called it a day and closed the server. Around the same time the 'vs Bots Rebirth' server Founded by Toke Rebirth steadily grew up around August-November 2015, often full with its 50 player cap however closing before the years end.

'Humans vs Bots' was re-launched late Feb 2016, due to less bot server competition, some extra maps being added / created and a few more admins. Becoming successful after 2 months of painful populating by a very small team, the server became almost self sustaining - peaking at 75 players at least once a day. It was at this point after several weeks of negotiating that the 'vs Bots Rebirth' team merged their admins and maps with us, to create a much better finished product for the community to enjoy.

This hopefully explains the name to some, Humans vs Bots + vs Bots Rebirth = Man vs Bots Rebirth!  - Humans vs Bots Rebirth was too long :(


The scripts used on the server were created by Spoons and Cedric, 'special bots' and grenades were created by Grozni.

No trolling / teamhitting / teamkilling
No glitching / bug abuse
Do not be offensive(hateful) to other players in chat

More information:
Cav classes spawn without horses as it is too op on most maps / they get in the way at spawn points.
Horses can however be spawned in stables/at feeding troughs on most maps adding extra strategic game-play to hold those areas as well as the flag.


Every map has a chest where players can heal themselves (marked with a red cross).

Some maps have an armory or weapons rack from which muskets can be spawned.

Some bots spawn as 'special bots', such as musicians, flag bearers & beserkers.

Special bots only spawn when there are 15 or more defenders.

Foot guard classes spawn with a frag grenade.

Build points for defenders is limited to 150 (for now)
The attacking team only need enough BP for explosives but not enough to spam them, 36 allows 6 to be placed at once.
Rocket arty and arty trains are disabled as they allow players to permanently block doorways.
Earthworks are disabled as they can also block bot pathways (permanently if glitched).
Planks are disabled to avoid plank spam.

Explosives are disabled on specific maps for map balancing.
For example they are disabled on Helms Deep because the map is made out of many pieces of destructible wall, even the floor in places, therefore it could quite easily crash the server or make the flag impossible to get to.

Each week the event will change, whether it be Murderball or a custom siege map, zombies or even conquest. This event will be capped at 160 players, regiments are free to sign up for a one off event if we have space or to attend weekly.

This weeks event is Murderball (04/7/2015)

All credits for the idea of Murderball go to the 77y as they were the first ones to play it. The classes available will be Line and Artillery. Each team will have 2 cannons. (you may only sign up as line, artillery will be chosen on the day)

Rules:

  • No-one may enter the main arena until the admin officially starts the match.
  • Each time a team scores the round will be reset
  • Line classes only, ranker + 1 officer per regiment
  • The only exception to the above rule will be the few individuals chosen to be artillery.

The idea behind this gametype is simple, there is one flag, and each team must try to jump with the flag into the enemy's score zone.
