Favorite Moments of the Punic Wars

The Punic Wars, especially the second, were some of the most important military and historical events in Western history.
My favorite moment is obviously Cannae.
LONG LIVE HANNIBAL! DON'T POISON YOURSELF IN TURKEY!
Who's your favorite faction, leader, and battle? Or, who are your favorite politicians and ideas of the war.

My favorite part is not the Big Battles when Hannibal slayed thousands of Romans, as cool as it was. My favorite part is the Fabian Strategy that Fabian Maximus occupied Hannibal and his Army for the majorty of the time that they were pillaging Italy. It was a form of guerrilla warfare, a war of attrition.

Good description of it- http://militaryhistory.about.com/od/militarystrategies/p/fabian.htm

Canne was the greatest Military upset in history.

Zama was just sheer stupidity on the part of Carthage.

Well except for the fact Hannibal didn't take Rome or want to take Rome.
Also, *Republic
Same with Romans, they didn't need to take Carthage after Zama and wouldn't until the Third Punic War

The point of invading Carthage was that, after the Romans realized that they could not defeat Hannibal in Italy, they hoped that by invading their homeland the Carthage government would call Hannibal and his army back to North Africa. Which they did.

Because jealous judges can't handle Hernibal's swerg. There was also a rival of Hannibal's, forget his name, who denied Hannibal more troops in Italy which could've given Hannibal either enough to raise more Italian allies against Rome, take Rome, or link up with Antichous in Macedon.

My favourite? Well... the final siege of Carthage, during the Third Punic war.
